After spending far too much time looking at the menu and trying to decide what combination I should go with, I finally decided on a vanilla ice cream cone dipped in fruity pebbles and topped with marshmallows! The concoction I made was delicious, but honestly there are so many to choose from I don't think you can go wrong!

Simons Says Dip This was a bit of a miss for us. We might have gone on an off day - there was a…read moreheavy sewage smell inside which was immediately unappetizing and no A/C, but luckily it was a nice enough day to take our cones to go and eat outside. I was a bit surprised to find that the only ice cream base option was vanilla. However, there are a variety of cores (filling), dips, and toppings options to jazz it up. I went for chocolate dip, toffee topping, and espresso drizzle. It was honestly just okay. The ice cream quality rivaled a dipped cone you could get at Dairy Queen, especially because it comes on the basic sugar cone. Because it's a hard shell, it gets eaten pretty quickly before you finish all of the ice cream. Once the shell is gone, you're left with just plain vanilla ice cream. The concept is cool, but at nearly $10 for a dipped cone with toppings, it's underwhelming and overpriced.

If you are looking for the nearby museum, that is the Randleigh Heritage Museum. It is a little further up the road, but appointments are usually required. Howling Cow has parking right outside, just watch the signs, as a few spots don't allow parking because of loading zones. Pets are not allowed, so leave them at home. Howling Cow sells ice cream, milk, sodas, water, cheese and other merchandise, such as clothing and water bottles, inside. The coolers are filled with to-go items, and there is even a separate check-out. If you are looking to enjoy your order there, you order at the register. They are a cashless facility, so remember your credit or debit card. You can get cones, cups, sundaes, and milkshakes. There are a few tables inside, and if you prefer to sit on the covered porch, there are tables and even some rocking chairs. The cows sometimes roam the pastures on cooler days. This visit, I went with the chocolate peanut butter ice cream brownie sundae. I wasn't expecting it to be so big and have as many of the toppings as it did. I couldn't finish it, but they had tops to put on it so you could take it to go. These were near where you pick up your order, so it's easy to grab one if you need one. If you are looking for quality ice cream with a variety of flavors in a peaceful setting, check out Howling Cow.

Line out the door but it moved very fast and after I ordered they scooped it so fast. My only complaint is that my friend got a milkshake (comes with whipped cream) and the worker making it used a rag to wipe excess whipped cream off the top of the cup lid. That rag had been used to clean the counter and was dropped on the ground. The other worker fixed it after we complained. But a reminder this place is run by college students haha!!
