We really enjoyed our experience! We went on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. Likely because of the chill since it is November. I love Goodberry's style ice cream with mix ins. My partner got their Halloween special which was called the Monster. I got vanilla ice cream with heath bar and caramel - I love their heath bar mix in! We paid $14 for two heaping cups of ice cream. This is Ghetto Goodberry's or GG for short. Seriously, this area is not a safe area at night. Go to the Cameron Village or Cary Goodberry's instead if you have to get ice cream after sunset. Those are much better spots. Service at this one is sub-par compared to the other Goodberry's, but that's not surprising for GG. You are lucky if the person taking your order gets it right when they are talking to someone on their cellphone while working. Other employees may also be talking on their phones while working or just blasting music. While I'm a huge fan of Goodberry's in general, I try to avoid this location at all costs if possible. GG is just not up to par with service as well as the workers effort into making your desserts. read more

Hands-down, the best possible ice cream place you could ever imagine. Technically, frozen custard. Been a customer here almost 30 years.

I don't know what was better, the staff or the custard! Manager, if you ever read this the two girls working on 9/13 at 3 pm deserve some praise! My husband recommended this place because he came here before with family and i had never heard of it. It was so good! The prices are a little high, but that's to be expected for a place unique right? It's pouring rain right now or we would be sitting on the cute patio by the fountain. I saw that Goodberry's flavor of the day was Banana Pudding which is one of my favorites, so I stopped by the shop to get a concrete. There were no guests waiting when I arrived, so I was able to walk right up to the counter; however, there were no reps in sight. I waited for about 5 minutes in the cold outdoors before calling out to see if anyone was in the back. Someone eventually came to the front about two minutes after I called out and took my order. The rep was pleasant. Once my order was taken, my concrete was prepared and provided to me right away. The concrete was really good as expected. I've given a 4 star rating because of the wait time before being tended to. read more

Where do I start went to good berry's on 11/30/24 veronica was our server, there was a lot of horse playing around while making our order unprofessional. then when we arrived at home what a mess we discover that we had in the bag the custard had melted no heat on in the truck riding home plus it was cold outside. paid for all these extra wet walnuts was on mini concrete pecans missing from the other mini concrete. the strawberries short cake sundae was also melted and i paid $8.95 for that for our total order we paid $34.85 calling on Monday 12/1/24 hoping to speak with the store manager. this is way to much money to spend to be dissatisfied depending on the outcome of the phone will determine if they have lost me as a customer for life....... read more

We got to the location at 9:48 and walked up to the window, and they told us they were closed and gave us bad attitude so we walked away and as we walked away there was another woman that walked up and they served her and so we went back up there and they decided to roll there eyes and not even speak to us when we were asking nicely. I started this review on June 9th and never finished, because... what in the world. Whoever the guy is working at 1130ish AM on that day, telling me I couldn't get Jamocha is a moron. You tell me I can only get the flavor of the day (key lime), vanilla and chocolate. You tell me it's been like that since he can remember. Yet other customers come up and get lime with strawberries, etc. heh? So you lie to me and but be honest with other customers??? I've been coming to this joint since I was in HS... that's a good 15+ years. Will I go back? Perhaps, because I'm often not in that area. The kids wanted to get out of the house so I decided to try this place after people raved about it. The ice cream did not disappoint! We ordered the Carolina creation which comes with two scoops and a topping. Everyone had gloves and masks on. I loved watching their process. I've spent thousands of dollars here over the years but was told I couldn't use the bathroom here

I've only had Goodberry's about three times. Prior to this visit it had been well over 4 years since I had been. It was a hot day, so I'll let that be the excuse as to why my custard melted so quickly. But I want to also note that when the young man served it to me he didn't turn it upside down like they normally do, but kind of tilted it sideways, which in my mind had me wondering was it not as frozen as it should've been. The prices of course have gone up since my last visit which is understandable bc it had been years, but for the amount we spent on a shake and a mini concrete (only one topping), we could have went to one of the froyo places with all your toppings and weighed it. My daughter didn't drink all her shake and I had to hurry and eat mine before it ended in my lap. I ordered the chocolate base with blueberry and wet walnuts, which nothing was blended well and the walnuts tasted old and were mushy. So, I'm sure this will not be a frequent stop for ice cream anytime soon. read more

Being from WI, I'll admit I love frozen yogurt and Goodberry's has never disappointed. But tonight was my last visit, as I've decided to fill my cravings elsewhere. It's hard to tell from the photo, but this is a small single scoop dish of cookie dough frozen yogurt. (It is slightly melted after the drive home, but didn't look much different when it was served. I also purchased a single scoop of chocolate, which actually had the appropriate shape of an ice cream scoop and was a considerably larger serving. With tax, each dish was a bit over $4. I've always considered Goodberry's to be pricier than other frozen custard places, but tolerated it. However, this pathetic half-serving is NOT worth $4 as that's about $1 per bite. I picked up subs at Subway across the street afterwards and got more irritated as I thought of how embarrassed I was to bring this home to my husband. Since I had to drive past Goodberry's to get back home, I returned and asked the young lady working if she noticed how much less was in one dish compared to the other (spoon still sticking straight up as they'd placed it so NO, I didn't eat any in the 10 min since I left). Asked if it would be possible to at least get it topped off to look like the single scoop of chocolate? She just looked at me, no response. Then I asked if I could get a lid "to go" which she handed me. Funny that other places like Culver's, Hardee's have round lids that even have a well-designed hole in the top for a spoon or straw. But this lid was flat. Covered the half empty container just fine. The chocolate dish with a normal size scoop got squashed (further proving that it had significantly more custard). It's bad enough that they charge so much, but when one dish is not even close what passes for a "scoop" of ice cream, why would I return? And just for the record, my first job in high school/college was at an ice cream shop, so I know how to scoop ice cream or at least make identically sized/ priced dishes look similar. read more

Tonight was supposed to be a trip to ColdStone, however baseball ran over so it was a quick drive from Raleigh to Garner to Goodberrys. I will admit that we were showing up just at the point of almost closing but for starters there were barely any customers and the wait time just to be served was entirely too slow for three employees on shift (nearly 15 minutes just waiting for our order to be taken). The positive was that the staff was very friendly and the portions were very full in the cup. Frozen custard is very heavy but this was spot on and very pleasant. The price was also much better than Cold Stone for what you get. There is a calendar for the flavors of the day specials. If you are unsure what to get that may be a good suggestion for starters. PLENTY of parking and this location is 100% outdoor seating only. But I would recommend this location... with hopes that it speeds up its service. read more

I finally had my first Goodberry's experience when I visited my sister in Raleigh for Thanksgiving. She regularly raves about their frozen custard, and I was not disappointed. I ordered their flavor of the day (peppermint, one of my favs!) with fudge brownie and hot fudge sauce mixed in. The peppermint custard had actual bits of peppermint broken up in it and was really delicious. The only other flavor choices were vanilla and chocolate, neither of which I care for much. I would definitely look at the flavor of the day before going again and I wish they had more variety there. Overall, I really enjoyed it! It was my first time eating frozen custard and I can't say I notice a huge different between it and ice cream. Would definitely come back! read more

We've had Goodberry's many times at a Raleigh location and have never had a problem. We were rather disappointed at this location. We were a party of 8 and all concretes and sundaes were already soupy when we got them. Traditionally concretes are turned upside down when handed to the customer. I absolutely love the frozen custard here! Especially the Concretes: your choice of custard plus a topping, all mixed up, and then flipped upside down as it is presented to you. On another hand this Goodberry's is probably the slowest one and seems a little run down. I would love to see them revamp and make a huge comeback! Delicious custard! We love going here after dinner and getting custard. Even in winter, it's a nice treat. The outdoor seating is a little much in the winter, but everyone is super pleasant. It can be a little slow but I think they are usually understaffed. I would disregard the reviewer who said their milk base is soured in the winter.
