A Delightful Surprise 41 North Coffee Co reminds me of 'The Little Engine that Could'. It's a rather small coffee-house / cafe that serves everything from Premium Coffee Concoctions to Biscuits & Gravy to Paninis & Quiche to Wings & Burgers to Steaks & Lasagna to Affogato with a Biscotti (Gelato with Espresso). I think it has the most diverse and extensive menu in our area, and everything I have tasted so far has been delicious. Inside seating a somewhat limited, so it can get crowded during peak hours. There are a couple of outside tables and the roof-top garden is open when the weather turns nice. Except for Sunday dinner, they are open for every meal every day of the week. The Chicken Salad Croissant was slightly sweet and piled high on a large flakey fresh-baked croissant. The Goat Cheese & Fig Panini came with Mozzarella Cheese, Bacon, fresh Spinach and a Balsamic Glaze pressed in Sourdough Bread. It was exceptional. Our grandson devoured a fluffy Waffle and pronounced it the best he had ever had. We also recommend the Spinach Artichoke Quiche - a generous serving of my favorite egg custard tart loaded with Spinach & Artichoke and gooey Mozzarella & Provolone Cheese. The Bacon, Egg & Gouda Sandwich is another winner. The Apple-wood smoked Bacon, Eggs and Cheese are packed into a toasted English Muffin. For something sweet, try the Oreo Cheesecake - simply delicious. One last thing - the Coffee is also very good. read more

The food was good, until I found hair in it. We had just popped in for a quick brunch before heading home. They have a seat yourself service on Sunday, except there were no tables available since they all still had plates/trash on them. Took about 20 minutes until we could order, girl running the cashier was nice and helpful though. Food only took about 15 minutes for my family but about 25 for mine. Family had the Pressed Bagel with ham, egg, and cheese as well as the 3 cheese grilled cheese and I had the bacon, eggs, and side of home fries. Everything was ok, nothing out of this world but then I found a males hair in my food. I wasn't even a quarter into my food so that was extremely wasteful. To top it off, my daughter stood by the counter waiting for someone to help her grab a container for her muffin to-go and the man running that side completely ignored her several times. It wasn't until a young lady walked over that my daughter was able to get her attention for help. For the price we paid it was not even close to worth our time let alone our money. $10 for a nasty coffee! $1 up charge for low grade milk alternative that doesn't cost more than cow milk, even Starbucks stopped charging for this. There are no prices posted so once I ordered I didn't want to be rude and cancel but I really wish I did. I'm sitting here with a $10 drink wasted it has an awful filmy aftertaste. read more

Found this little spot via a friend. Located on a downtown street in Wendell - parking is tight but the food and service made up for it. What seems like a small coffee shop quickly turns into a full menu experience. They offer the normal items plus more from sandwiches, baked goods, chips, coffee, tea, and more. Clean and well lit - the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was excellent as well. My coffee was a cookie butter iced latte - not overly sweet at all. I accompanied it with a pimento cheese and bacon Panini. Perfect blend of creamy, richness, and savory. The sandwich came it a side of kettle chips and a pickle - all were delicious. The location is in the heart of downtown Wendell The atmosphere is cozy The people were pleasant and welcomed me in The coffee was not what I expected, it was not hot (I ordered a white chocolate mocha and two muffins. I specifically said sugar-free white chocolate cause that's what it says on the menu and I am autistic and having anxiety, so I'm trying to say what specifically on the menu as she says to me "so you want white mocha?" and I tell her no sugar-free white chocolate she's says very loudly and with attitude "it's the same thing" and when I say oh OK because I genuinely didn't know the difference she scoffed at me and turned to her coworker and gave her a WTF face while I am looking directly at her, and then just gave attitude for the rest of the transaction. Come here all the time. It's a nice place but the last 2 times I was there recently, as I was ordering my drink I witnessed who I assume might be someone in charge speaking to the other girls working in a very rude and loud way. It made us all feel uncomfortable as the workers here are usually very friendly but there definitely seems to be some tension with the staff. I paid a visit to 41N after church recently. Wow, has this place changed; all for the good! Since my last visit, they have expanded the menu and even added rooftop seating. During my visit, it was pretty crowded and the line to order food was a tad long, but moved with a reasonable pace. I got an ham, egg, and cheddar sandwich on an everything bagel. My mother in law wanted eggs Benedict, but they were out. She opted for the bacon and cheddar quiche instead. We were given a number and waited for our food to arrive. The bagel sandwich I ordered took a bit longer than expected, but the flavors were all there and it was tasty. My mother in law got the wrong quiche, but didn't send it back and thought what she got was good as well. All in all, a great little place that generates consistent business. I come to this location quite a bit. They've recently added a full food menu, and the choices on their menu seem to have several healthy options. I've tried the salad with goat cheese, the burger, and the quiches. They also offer an assortment of baked goods cookies, sweet breads, and flavored pretzels. You can get just about any coffee drink from the barista's include chai tea's holiday favorite drinks, delicious coffee, and smoothies. The service is always excellent. I love supporting local businesses and this one is a favorite! I don't go as much as I'd like, mostly when my internet is down (country living has it's ups and downs)! However, I haven't had anything that I wasn't a fan of. The pressed bagel sandwiches are great. The salads are good too (although I do wish they would warm up the chicken and not serve it cold). My favorite treat to get is the black/white cookie, but they sell out fast! I always get the americano and it tastes great! And the best part? Their prices are very affordable. 41 North is a nice gem of a coffee shop located in downtown Wendell. The interior space is fairly large with high top, table and couch seating. My son and I stopped by for an early lunch after a passport renewal appointment in Zebulon earlier. Some of the menu items have been pre prepared and are on display in the refrigerator. I have to say the quiches looked great but, I went with the Goat Cheese, Fig and Bacon Panini. He went with the Rueben. Both came with chips and a pickle. Mine was great and by judging from his empty plate, he enjoyed his as well. I just got a regular coffee (black) and my son went with the iced Mocha Latte (teenagers!). Anyway the coffee here is pretty good. They offer bags of beans (whole & ground) to go as well as coffee cups with the business logo on them for sale. Cute, comforting cafe in Wendell. Ample parking located out front. While visiting a friend, we decided to meet here for breakfast. The cafe was busy when we arrived, but gradually cleared around 10 am. The menu and display case are full of mouth-watering items. After a difficult decision, I decided on the Belgian waffle with hot tea. The waffle was delicious, sweet, and filling. The tea was good and hot. The tea bag is left in so you can decide when to stop steeping it. Prices and portions are reasonable. Each of the employees we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We come here for coffee and sweet treats all the time, but they recently expanded their food offerings. Everything was fresh, cooked to order, with little wait time and very tasty. I stopped by here today for the first time. I've been following this establishment on social media and have been planning to come for awhile and finally made it! The location is right in the heart of downtown and has easy parking right in front. They have a good sized menu with different coffees, espresso, smoothies and specialty beverages. I ordered a small sweet cream cold brew and a bacon cheddar quiche. I think the quiche may have had spinach in it, and it made it even more delicious! They also have muffins, cinnamon rolls, pastries and other bakery items. Their menu showed lunch options as well so I will need to come back for that. Pricing was standard compared to any small locally owned coffee shop. They had some high and low top tables giving it a little bit of a starbucks feel. I frequent 41 North so I won't say it isn't a great coffee shop, but the past 3-4 times I've gone, I've gotten a vanilla latte and it's tasted like pure milk. This past time I asked why to the barista and the answer I got was a bit surprising... If you order a large latte, they will only add one shot of espresso. If you get a small latte, PERFECT latte (because proportions are correct)! But if you order a large, they'll drown your latte in milk to fill the large or medium cup to compensate for less espresso/syrup.. they asked if I wanted to add a shot of espresso, but that would be an upcharge price on top of your already more than $6 latte.... As I said, great coffee shop, but a little questionable barista practice I ran in to... EDIT: The owner has reached out and it seems there were some miscommunications made to some members of staff. Nice local coffee shop in Wendell! Great location with other shops and restaurants around! Nice menu of coffees, teas, smoothies, and refreshments! They offer milk alternatives such as almond milk, oat milk, etc,. They now also serve wine and coffee liqueur. They have lots and lots of food options available as well! Waffles, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, quiche, parfaits, salads, sandwiches, and paninis are all on the menu! They have a bakery display as well with lots of baked goods. My only note is that their paninis are not made fresh, but instead are pre-made and heated before serving, so you cannot change any toppings. There is ample seating inside; a large table for bigger groups, as well as couches for more comfortable seating options. There are three outside tables as well, two in the front and one around the side! Food and drink orders can be delayed depending on how busy they are, so if you're in a rush this may not be a quick option. Definitely recommend this local gem! read more
