Found this little spot via a friend. Located on a downtown street in Wendell - parking is tight but the food and service made up for it. What seems like a small coffee shop quickly turns into a full menu experience. They offer the normal items plus more from sandwiches, baked goods, chips, coffee, tea, and more. Clean and well lit - the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was excellent as well. My coffee was a cookie butter iced latte - not overly sweet at all. I accompanied it with a pimento cheese and bacon Panini. Perfect blend of creamy, richness, and savory. The sandwich came it a side of kettle chips and a pickle - all were delicious. Will definitely be back!

Found this spot by accident and stopped in to refuel on coffee. The location is in the heart of downtown Wendell The atmosphere is cozy The people were pleasant and welcomed me in The coffee was not what I expected, it was not hot (I ordered a white chocolate mocha and two muffins. I think of I in the area again I will ask for some suggestions on something that at he S my pallet more. They do have some wine options as well. The cinnamon sugar was buttery and the chocolate was like a dessert not to sweet.

Small eatery with a country town, coffee house type vibe. Two tables for outside eating and ample indoor seating. The menu includes a variety of breakfast, lunch, smoothie, and coffee options... all reasonably priced. Our food order was taken right at the register and took about 20 minutes to come out. Our dishes (grilled cheese and chicken tenders) were ordinary... as if grandma was in the kitchen.

2.5 So the Rueben had no sauerkraut really in it. The loaded potato soup was gone. The pulled pork sandwich had no bbq sauce with it or slaw so it was very lackluster. Just unseasoned pulled pork in a sandwich. No flavor whatsoever. But they gave a refund for the sandwich and got us a new sandwich.

I come to this location quite a bit. They've recently added a full food menu, and the choices on their menu seem to have several healthy options. I've tried the salad with goat cheese, the burger, and the quiches. They also offer an assortment of baked goods cookies, sweet breads, and flavored pretzels. You can get just about any coffee drink from the barista's include chai tea's holiday favorite drinks, delicious coffee, and smoothies. The service is always excellent. Very prompt and they keep their facility spotless overall, just a wonderful place.

41 North is a nice gem of a coffee shop located in downtown Wendell. The interior space is fairly large with high top, table and couch seating. My son and I stopped by for an early lunch after a passport renewal appointment in Zebulon earlier. Some of the menu items have been pre prepared and are on display in the refrigerator. I have to say the quiches looked great but, I went with the Goat Cheese, Fig and Bacon Panini. He went with the Rueben. Both came with chips and a pickle. Mine was great and by judging from his empty plate, he enjoyed his as well. I just got a regular coffee (black) and my son went with the iced Mocha Latte (teenagers!). Anyway the coffee here is pretty good. They offer bags of beans (whole & ground) to go as well as coffee cups with the business logo on them for sale. We had a nice experience and you can't go wrong here for you're caffeine fix when visiting Wendell.

Clean lines guide your eyes without bossiness--white tables set in quiet confidence, as if they know they'll be appreciated but don't need to show off about it. The chairs--soft, and just indulgent enough--offer a kind of seated hug, while the booths linger along the edges like old friends. The bar sits with the same quiet confidence, glasses catching soft light while, just a few steps away, something sparkles from a display that wasn't there a moment ago--or maybe you just didn't see it yet. Conversations hum at a respectful volume, as if even the voices know not to disturb the tiny marvels tucked nearby. There's a Southern sensibility woven through it all--not loud or kitschy, but present in the details: warm wood tones, with a hint of nostalgia in the walls. But what makes the place quietly peculiar--in the best way--is how it seems to bloom into a boutique around its edges. Just beyond the dining space, as if the room itself got curious and wandered off, are shelves, tables and nooks filled with small treasures: things you didn't come in for but suddenly can't stop noticing. Somewhere along the way--quietly, almost politely--Sip and Shop decided to become something more. They didn't abandon its charm; they refined it. That shift begins in the kitchen, where a chef--trained, precise, and just a little bit obsessed in the best possible way--has taken the familiar and taught it how to stand a little taller. The menu grows--not in size alone, but in imagination, dishes arrive with intention: layers of flavor that feel considered, composed, almost conversational. You can taste the training--not in a showy way, but in the quiet confidence of balance, technique, and restraint. Upscale has deepened into fine dining, but without losing its soul. It's still cozy. Still welcoming. Just... elevated. Like it found its calling and answered with grace. Relax, linger, and savor not just the fine food, but the feeling of being gently elevated without ever being out of place. Cheers!

Ambiance - 5/5 This location was very clean and orderly - even the restroom! There was plenty of seating inside and outside. The temp within the building was perfect - not to cold or hot. Food - 3/5 Now, for the most important part - FOOD. This is where they fell a little short for me. I ordered: - The Salmon Salad (one of the specials) - The Philly Cheesesteak (one of the specials) - comes with a side (fries) - 5 wings with blue cheese Due to my allergies, I changed out the strawberry dressing for blue cheese and ranch. The salmon salad was pretty good overall. I believe the strawberry dressing would have given it the balance it needed of a hint of sweetness from the fruit. But it was still good. Where things fell short was the cheesesteak. I did it with the wings as take out. The flavors of the cheesesteak were off. I shared it with others and we all said it was a seasoning on the meat or something that didn't go well. It didn't have the taste you are familiar with when it comes to a classic cheesesteak. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't something we would order again - you know things just ain't forever one. This was one for us. It might be something great for someone else. The wings and fries were good. The fries had a good seasoning to them and the wings weren't hard - so all good in our book. We will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

We were sat in the back of the restaurant and felt tucked away, but this didn't hinder service in the slightest. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and very helpful. He knew the menu and had a confident answer to every question. Before being sat at our table, we grabbed a drink at the bar and asked the bartender about the menu. There was a woman who took special time to explain what the menu items were and how they differed from your usual "chicken or beef etc". Which was not only informative, but interesting too. Onto the star of the show, the meal. We ordered the bison & farro and the poulet rouge carbonara. Both of these dishes were phenomenal. I've never had a culinary experience even close to this one. These are meals you think about for the rest of your life. The textures and flavors together resulted in an exquisite explosion of harmony. Anyway, Was shown to my table, a male server showed up, lit the candle, and I didn't see anyone for 18 minutes while two tables around me were greeted, cleared the table of extra dishes not needed and was served water, and their plates for the dinner buffet. The server that lit the candle, came back, asked if my server showed up. Uh, no. Finally, a woman server came by, went to the other table. Can't make this up. Then she realized they were being taken care of. She finally made it to me. I informed her I was dining alone, she cleared extra dishes, asked if I needed salt or pepper. Interesting question considering I didn't have any food. She filled my water glass, then brought my plate, as it was a dinner buffet night. Their first dinner buffet. No excuse for the poor service, though. Make me feel important, valued whether dining alone or with a group, please. The buffet had a great variety of proteins and sides. A couple of beef strip choices, shredded chicken, crisp tortillas to build your own nachos for the kids, fried catfish, fried chicken patty, salmon, swordfish, all cut into small portions. Proteins were the perfect size to try everything without filling up. A carving station consisted of sirloin, pork loin, sausage and baked salmon. The seasoning on every protein at the buffet and carving station was different. Excellent. Sides included mac and cheese, roasted potatoes, a squash medley, Brussels Sprouts, and mashed potatoes. A nice spread for a salad included mixed greens, large leaves of them. All the veggie toppings, two kinds of shredded cheeses, house made croutons, four dressings and fresh fruit that blew me away. Every bite of the fruit was ripe, sweet. Not the hard, no flavor offerings at some establishments/groceries this time of year. The gumbo had large pieces of shrimp, crawfish, sausage, potatoes, and smaller pieces of mussels, mini shrimp, etc. The breads selection was biscuits, baguette and others. All fresh, soft and crunchy. Great to dip into the gumbo broth. Dessert offerings included brownies and cookies. I opted to enjoy a brownie along with the fresh berries/fruit. They also offer a Sunday brunch buffet. The other nights they have a full menu. Be aware, they automatically add in a "brunch gratuity" of 20% to the bill. Overall, I would visit again.

While the staff were very nice, there was only one person running around managing all the tables, and my salmon salad was terrible - I specifically asked how the jalapeños were cut, so I could take them out if they were too hot - and was reassured that they were cut in coins/slices and would be easy to remove. When the salad came, they were diced super tiny and super spicy - and really difficult to remove. Also, a good part of my salad was avocado, and it was so unripe that it was crunchy! When I mentioned these concerns to the staff, the lady apologized about the jalapeños and said her niece works in the kitchen and had told her that she's been throwing away the soft avocados because that means they're not good anymore. Who has kitchen staff (especially family members) that don't even know what a ripe avocado looks and feels like?!? She did acknowledge and apologize that my salad was nothing like I had expected (or they had advertised), but did not offer any sort of a discount - although we also did not ask. As the only place with actual food in that area, we had high hopes, but sadly we will definitely NOT be back. The only reason I did not leave one star is because my husband ordered the beet salad. It was tiny, but tasted good.
