Asa came in to do the estimate and although he was competitive in pricing, but not the lowest…read moreprice, my interaction with him left a good impression and decided to go with his service. Thervice was to replace my old bathtub and install can lighting in the living room, kitchen, and bedroom. Asa went with me to Home Depot to pick out the tub and fixtures and provided his professional opinion during the process. I selected my items and we loaded it up in his truck and got it back to the house. He did a great job installing the tub and repairing the drywall and texturing around the tub The can lighting install in the living room went without a hitch and now have great lighting in this room. The master bedroom light install did not go so well and Asa had an incident, which he had repaired immediately the next day. The lights look great in the master bedroom. The light install was a bit more difficult in the kitchen because he was replacing an old fluorescent light fixture which had to be torn out and patched and textured. The lights install went smoothly but the patchwork and texture did not pass my standards. Asa brought in a drywall specialist to have it done to meet my expectations without an extra cost to me! A few weeks later we heard a loud buzzing sound coming from one of the living room lights and we texted Asa to report this. He came by either that evening or the following day with new lights he installed and returned to Home Depot. Asa's customer service and pride in his workmanship is fantastic! I would definitely go to him for any future work as well as suggest his service for any friends or family looking to get work done!

I am in the market for a contractor and based on great reviews on Yelp, I phoned Purdy…read moreConstruction. I first phoned them and left a message for Susan. A couple of days passed and I had yet to receive a call back. After not hearing back from them, I phoned them again, and this time got the contractors phone instead of the office phone. There was a pleasant message telling me to phone the office if I wanted to schedule a quote. I then phoned the office and left another message. This time I got a phone call back from Susan. I was told that Jaime (the contractor) was all booked up until September, and I said that fine as there isn't a rush on the job. She began asking me if I wanted to schedule an appointment for a quote, but then she back peddled and said, "Can you call back in September?" I was really taken aback by this, and told her this seemed to be a repeat of a review that I read on a social media site. If you're in the market for a contractor in the Sacramento area from July 2014 - September 2014, DON'T call this contractor as he is all booked up and wont give you the time of day! Response to comment from business owner; Thank you for your response to my review of your business. Please allow me to reiterate some of my review and more clearly state my thoughts about my interactions with Purdy Construction. Getting back to a customer in a timely manner: Business standard is to return a phone call within 24 hours, especially when you have a dedicated person (Susan) taking business calls. I waited 72 hours before phoning again. Since there is another review about not responding to a customer inquiry, it sounds like this has been a previous issue. Time frame for project start: As I stated in my review, it is not a rush job and I was fine with the project starting in September. I am completely happy with your availability. Asking ME to phone back in September for a quote: This is what I have an issue with. As a customer, the business should take the responsibility in getting back to a client, or potential client, not the client. My information should've been taken down and a quote taken within a couple of weeks (my hours are flexible and would've been happy to work around your full schedule), and not start the project until September. Never the less, I have already lined up a quote from another contractor. If I accept the bid, the project will not start until late August/ early September, which is perfectly fine with me. The below response from the business owner only confirms my review of Purdy Construction.
