The plating is as beautiful as the taste is delicious.
Tina D.

This was one of my favorite dinners in Paris during our trip. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was attentive and the owner was a delightful guide for wine selections. This Veal with butternut squash ravioli was course 3. We had the 4 course menu and we left very satisfied. I will definitely return.

The service was unbeatable - probably the best I had in France thus far. 120 Euros was very reasonable for the four-course meal I got. The food was delicious and everything came out perfect. The only criticism I have was that the claim pasta was a bit too salty for my liking. I felt like all of the other dishes were really good though. Overall, I'd probably only come back if they drastically changed their menu. Not because I didn't like their food, but because I like trying new restaurants. It's definitely worth trying at least once.

Five course dinner (November 2022)

I'm going to confess that I'm writing this review with a bit of a far fetched long shot ulterior motive. I came here for my first dinner after landing in Paris from New York and had the five course dinner. Every dish was fantastic, I didn't have a single nit. The whole experience really kicked off my short vacation perfectly. The scallops particularly blew me away and the pumpkin(?) dish has me looking for dishes with a similar taste profile in Paris. Now, on to wine. I'm going to into a bit of unnecessary detail here in hopes the sommelier may remember me... I had a very brief conversation with her to pick a bottle of wine. The only reason I didn't stick to the pairing was because when I saw the dinner menu, I figured it would be mostly white wines (which the sommelier confirmed) and I'm very picky with white wines (not in the sense that I have an advanced palate, but more so the opposite, I just haven't developed the palate for a wide range of whites). I mentioned that I love Bordeaux, but I understood it couldn't order one as it would overpower half of the dishes, admitted that I'm not great with selecting Burgundy bottles and asked for a recommendation. She recommended a couple of bottles and I agreed with a what I vaguely remember as a 2018 vintage, which she enthusiastically not only described the bottle but also the family run estate. I was slightly concerned it was a bit young, but she assured it was ready to drink. This burgundy was one of the best I've ever had and was priced surprisingly reasonably. I did not take down the name of the bottle... I need to find out what it was. Again, long shot, but if the sommelier remembers offering a 2018 burgundy to a Korean American couple from new York on November 23, 2022 and happens to remember which bottle this was, I need to know. We were the first table seated, 7:30 reservation.

Amazing Veal dish

Wow. Go here now! Comice is a wonderful dining experience that my wife and I recently had the opportunity to be a part of. Every dish in the Tasting menu was prepared perfectly. You will leave so full that you cannot stand the thought of more food. I'm sure they know this as the Chef's wife, who runs the front end, jokes about serving you more food at the end. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. I cannot wait to return. I did not do the wine pairing.

Chocolate Souffle - Not too sweet but a rich Chocolate

This was the first place I dined in Paris on 3/6/19.. And I was glad that I made this my first meal. It was wonderful from the moment I walked in the staff was so gracious and welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere wonderful. As a Chef myself I was happy the kitchen was open and I could watch them work as I wanted to see how Paris kitchens were different from NYC kitchens. I choose to do the tasting menu and I was very happy I did. The food was amazing. Every dish was explained in depth. They asked me if I had allergies or if there was something I wouldn't like. The bread was fresh and they had two choices. The wines they selected were wonderful. They offered the wine pairing which I turned down but did select two wines to go with my first and main course, both excellent. The staff was fun to watch as each table the waited on they were almost choreographed with their movements and it made the dining experience that much more spectacular. They give you time to enjoy the food before the next course. I highly recommend that if you go to Paris you come to Comice. I wish I could have gone back but I wasn't there long enough. If I return to Paris I will definitely return to Comice

Chicken entree - our 6 year old loved
Erik L.

Best meal we had in Paris. We brought our 6 year old with us and they were very accommodating. Service was amazing as expected for a Michelin star. All dishes were well prepared and balanced. The highlights for me were the cauliflower and the lobster entree, however I would have all of them over again. We had our meal with the wine pairings and like all but the rose champagne with dessert (chocolate soufflé) and felt it was off. Would recommend for anyone looking for an amazing meal in Paris.

Sea bass with artichokes, chard, and white beans

Far and away the best dining experience my husband & I had during our trip through Paris, Barcelona and London in November 2018. We found Comice on Eater Paris and made reservations about 6 weeks before we traveled. We decided to splurge and get the tasting menu with beverage pairing, and it was... a truly impeccable and perfect meal. The menu spanned many flavors, preparations, and proteins. There aren't enough adjectives or words to appropriately describe each course. This was the first time that we each had an "A-HA moment" after a bite and a sip of the paired wine. Everything suddenly made sense. The staff and team at Comice are top-notch. We will be thinking of Comice for a long, long time.

Homemade tagliatelle

Comice is an experience. From the moment we walked through the front door to the end, it was perfect. My boyfriend and I got the tasting menu without the wine pairing. They were able to accommodate his dairy allergy and prepared him nearly the same dishes as I had - all of which was delicious. The tasting menu is worth it. I also judge how much a restaurant cares by the bread they give you and the bread is top notch. They give you both a sourdough and multigrain that is on display and you can see them go through the loaves as the night goes on. The service is top notch and they take everything into detail. From the moment you step inside, they are attentive without being overbearing and know exactly how to pace out each dish. They know which jacket and bag is yours and has it waiting for you at the door when you are leaving. A member of their waitstaff is waiting for you to push your chair in after you've left it to to use the restroom. They check in periodically but let you enjoy your meal in piece. Every single part was meticulously thought out with such care. Would come back again and highly recommend for special night out

Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie - An amazing French onion soup...

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

An elegant upscale French cafe in the Sixteenth Arrondisement…read more The Sixteenth is known for being wealthy, old school conservative and elegant. Le Stella is expensive, serves French classics and executes magnificently. It is the neighborhood cafe for families who maintain a household staff and chauffeurs. They eat well. At Le Stella, you will eat well. * * * Most of the menu looks like it could be served in any cafe in the city. With a notable exception. The menu includes a vast array of seafood to be served as an appetizer. Some cafes will offer raw oysters. Le Stella will offer you a broad selection of oysters from which you may take your pick. The oysters are not even remotely cheap. Most of the tables were starting with seafood. I have generally been unhappy with the oysters I have gotten at everyday hoi polloi cafes. I strongly suspect that this is the place I want to go if the plan is to get my French aphrodisiacs. * * * I DID have the steak tartare. OH. MY. GOD. I have had a lot of steak tartare both in Paris and elsewhere in France. Nobody's version comes up to the standard of Le Stella. If you want to find out what steak tartare can do, This is where you want to order the dish. The beef itself was wonderful ... Which is not always a guarantee with the competition. What set the dish apart though was the flavoring. This was the spiciest and most stimulating steak tartare I have had in my life. It was not blow-the-top-of-your-head-off hot, like a dish with two cups of Thai green peppercorns. But my palate was hit with strong flavors of every type imaginable, As if a martial arts star was doing his signature fifteen move finisher in my mouth. There was strong yellow mustard powder. There was black pepper. There was green onion. There was horseradish. There was who knows what else? Each bite was absolutely strong and absolutely pungent. But each bite was also absolutely different. I never knew what was going to happen next. Just eating raw beef with some black pepper dumped in is no longer going to do it for me. I have seen the Holy Saint of Steak Tartare. No mortal Steak Tartare will ever rise to this level of divinity. * * * The wine cellar is also impressive. You can go all out and buy a bottle of a great vintage. (You can do that in many other French cafes too - Or for that matter - at the upscale wine stores which can be found every three or four blocks in Paris.) But what they sell by the glass is much better than most other cafes' "just-one-glass" choices. I had an first rate Beaujolais that was surprisingly reasonably priced. My wife was very happy with her fish. * * * I was watching my weight so I passed on the very attractive cheese and dessert options. As far as I could see, the only real lack was the bar whose spirit offerings were plebian and uninteresting. At Le Stella, you want to drink wine. Any other beverage is treated as a toss off. But sometime when my budget goes up and my waistline goes down, I would like to make a stab at their full menu. There were a lot of happy oyster eaters in that room.
