Just got back into comics and the new owner made me feel welcomed and helped me set up a pull list very easily. Can't recommend enough.

They have a decent selection of books here, but the store is always an absolute mess and isn't organized very well. I've been going here for weeks and not once has it been organized or not in complete disarray. The owner is nice , I believe his name is Mike, but the other store employee is just unpleasant. I asked for change once and asked if I had anything smaller, which thankfully I did that day. But the second time I had a 50 and asked hey do you have change for this? (I was buying $35 worth of things) and instead of saying, sorry I don't have any change. he got incredibly angry with me and said I will not be giving you change at the start of the day and that I "tried to do this last time" I wasn't rude either time to provoke him, I was just trying to pay cash since it's the nice thing to do for a small business. I will from now on be trying my best to never go here again, I recommend you do the same. There is a store 7 minutes from here that is much cleaner, nicer, and has a larger selection to choose from. I would suggest going there. read more

Friendly approachable staff, really engaged my son who is new to comics. Asked him a few questions about his favorite heroes/villains, gave him a good deal on small bundle of books and challenged him to write a short book report on what he thought of the comics. Will definitely be going here again. read more

Very good selection of back issues. The store is a little small and a tad bit pricey, but overall a really decent place to get comics. The day I went, there were a bunch of empty cardboard boxes sitting on top of all of the back issues, but they were easily moved to look through the selection. I'm sure they're not there all the time and they must have been restocking at that moment. Definitely a place I'd return to. read more

I can't imagine how they stay in business. They consistently open 30 min to 1 hour late. They say they open at 11am... how can you not wake up and make it to work on time?! I have tried to go to this shop 6 times around 11:30am and 4/6 times they are not yet open. Sometimes people stand outside waiting for the owner to get there. Get to work 30 minutes early to open the shop and get ready for customers at 11am, which is when you say you open! I'm taking my business elsewhere... read more

I haven't been there for a few years. It has a good choice of comics and videos. Many t-shirts along with gaming and collector supplies. It was my first time there taking the bus. I had forgotten the scale of distance when I was looking for it. read more

It has been a very long time since I bought a comic book much less been inside a comic book store. For some reason or another I had this urge to read one of my favorite stories when I was collecting. After looking all over online I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for so I sent a message through Facebook to Showcase Comics. They answered me the same day saying they had the issues I was looking for in stock!!!! When I went to pick them up they found the comics right away and I was home reading them in no time at all. Such great customer service. If I ever want to get back issues of my favorite comics growing up I will differently be back. read more

Great place. I use to collect comic-books back in the day and started coming here a few months ago just to catch up and pick up a few things. The owner, Frank, and his staff are very helpful if you ask them anything. You get the "Cheers" vibe when you're inside, kind of like there all just hanging out and really enjoy their time there. They have a great selection. The big thing for me is they don't make you feel weird or like an outsider if you ask basic questions or just look around. Most comic-book or collectible shops can treat you like an outsider if you don't immediately go to one specific spot and shop. They also can set up an account for you. Basically they'll put the comic books you want aside for you to pick up on a weekly or monthly basis. This is great for a guy like me who is tight on time and doesn't want to go to a store and get roped for $15 for a comic-book that just came out 4 or 5 days ago. I have just really gotten into comics and figurines like Funko Pops. This is a small comic bookstore but jam packed with everything you could want. It had a good selection of old and new comics. Small but decent section of figurines. This is not the best comic book store but it is no where near the worst. I would say a little over priced. I saw a G1 Optimus Prime; just the truck no parts for $65. Most price guides I have seen have just that piece valued much less. That's just one example. read more

I have been frequenting here and Showcase Comics for a little over a year now. This place is my favorite way to kill a few minutes/hours. Frank is the sweetest guy, always so friendly. Their trade paperback selection isn't as diverse as Showcase's, but that's the sort of thing that most people buy online anyway. Great selection of old comic books, usually have stock longer on the most recent books. The customer service is the top reason though. Love this place! read more

I just saw this where you can post comments and reviews. Comic Universe is a "throwback" to comic book stores of yesterday---and that is precisely why I give it my business. Tim B.'s review is objective in nature, but this is a subjective medium and business. It's a people business; Frank, his wife, daughter, Jimmy, and Maverick (from time to time) all do a great job. They go out of their way to make their regulars happy and go above and beyond for the new customers that walk in. I am a regular and switched years ago from Showcase. Not because I was so upset/unhappy with Showcase, but because of the people at Comic Universe-and that's both the staff and customers. read more

Comic Universe is your typical small and cramped comic space. Although the store has a decent array of figurines and comics, I personally will not be returning to this store again. The owner, Frank, seems pleasant until you have a problem with one of your purchases. I had a specific incidence with Frank where he raised his voice, would not let me speak, and commented on my level of education while speaking with him on the phone. If you are looking for a comic, this may be your place; however, it was not worth it for me to have to deal with such a hostile owner. read more

Compared to most comic book shops in Delaware County, this one is top notch. Being around the shops for twenty years or so, I find the size of the store actually quite comfortable & the store is well stocked on new books, back issues, statues, toys...etc. I further feel not only is the proprietor highly knowledgeable and inviting...very easy to like...a good man who takes the time to answer questions in a friendly, yet professional way. As for the employees and the customers, it's a wonderful store to feel like "Everybody Knows Your Name"...it's the Comic Book Store version of Cheers. Which personally I find inviting and an enjoyable shopping experience. In times like these where things are so serious, it's nice to go to the comic book shop that is stocked well, with professional attention to detail yet very light and inviting. A friendly place to shop and a kind of store reminding us of times of yesteryear, where all the stores were small business and friendly, inviting. If you like a well stocked store with great professional experience, fantastic comic products, ambiance and friendly faces....then this is your shop. The Comic Universe is a piece of Delaware County history in my humble opinion...and has aged like a fine wine. Not everything has to be big business to be the place to shop...sometimes all you need is quality, professional and helpful owner who cares and respects the business. And, that IS Comic Universe. read more
