Very large store!! Two store fronts!!

The Comic Book Shop is awesome. They looked through a couple thousand comics of mine seeing if I had anything good. I did not..... LOL It was all super mass produced stuff that had little value. However, they were kind and even suggested that some of the comics could be donated to kids at the local children's hospital. That is what I did and I felt really good having done it. The Comic Book Shop has a great selection. Sarah, the owner is amazing and fun. Go visit them!!

For sure trying to start interest and attention for a new event in a community is difficult at best. The Comic Book Shop dove in without even thinking. After reaching out to over 7 different shops, The Comic Book Stop reached out and put everything they had into the wanting of success for a new Comic Con occurring May 5th at the Greenwood Library in DE. Without hesitation, they told me to come up to Wilmington and they'd have a package for me for this community event in Greenwood. I drove the 1 and a half miles, with the three canines, and arrived around 1:00 PM. I would have drove three hours had I known... how amazing the owners, staff, and store was. Packed to the hilt with the most amazing collection if animation, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, and hundreds more of items, from graphic novels, to comics, to figures to TONS TONS TONS of items, and NEAT! Organized! On top of that the owner knew me as if we had met years ago, she, within seconds welcomed me, provided a huge dish of water for my dogs, welcomed them, and then... ...proceeded to bring out two huge boxes of materials to help with the local community event at Greenwood. However, she proceeded to go on and show me specific graphics that appealed to teachers, had lesson plans that met Common Core objectives, as well as the Legal Defense Fund organization and explain this in detail for me as well. Really? This was an oasis of friendship, willingness to help other communities grow, and use the resources of comics, graphic novels, and education to better other communities. One of the best discoveries - EVER - this is a place everyone needs to experience at least once - and you'll be back - guaranteed. Thank you Comic Book Shop ! Some great photos to come.

The Comic Book Shop has the entire side of a plaza to itself and has lots of parking. If you have not been here before, The Comic Book Shop has two storefronts. The left storefront is event and meeting space, the right one being the comic shop. Shop has a good longbox selection with current, older, and .50 books available. New book and graphic novel selection is also good. Where The Comic Book Shop stands out is the large selection of rare and vintage toys. During our visit, we saw Star Trek, GI Joe, Masters of the Universe, and Transformers toys that left us remembering our youth. Overall, we left The Comic Book Shop deeply impressed with its toy selection. Alone, that makes the shop worth visiting.

I went here a couple months back before I got my hair cut and got a few comics, today I went back again for a hair cut and decided to stop by and get a comic and or two but ended up with a $30 box. I got to say they really out did the box and and all definitely love the box

I came here today for the Jim Steranko signing, and it was totally worth the hour drive to come here. First, I was over the moon thrilled with the fact that a woman owns this shop. Sarah (I believe) is amazing. It's clear as day she cares about her store, her customers, and everyone who comes in regardless if they've been there before. She was also super attentive to the kids who came in. She hung out and talked to them, set up a coloring table/LEGO play area for them, and you can tell she wants kids to feel welcome and safe here. THAT is how you get new customers, that is how you keep old customers, and that is how you should engage young comic fans. Aside from Third Eye in Annapolis MD, I can not name any other shop that cares as much as she does. They have book clubs for every sort. They have a great selection of books and toys, and they have a Stern Batman pinball machine! I have the same one at home, but seeing it elsewhere was cool. The bathrooms are also really clean. The whole store is clean. You so seldom see that! I would happily drive out of my way to visit here again. This store is a true gem.

I usually don't like to say anything negative about a place, but I have traded and purchased from…read morethis store several years ago (I have proof). Those experiences were good, and I was able to complete my Xenosaga collection. So, when I decided to trade my SNES games recently, this place was my first thought. I did feel like it was fair, so the next day, I decided to do another trade for what most say at least $380 cash he only gave me $140 in trade. Why did I go through with it. I'm not sure, I have some health issues and was worn out, so I guess I just wasn't in the right mind. Now that I have had time to think about it and spoke with other retro game shops who agree without a doubt, this store took me for at least $180 cash, which should mean more in trade value. I should have know that he knew he was really slightly and some wasn't right, since while I was all ready at about $100 in trade, he said he had a game I would probably like on Switch and proceeded to take it out. I noticed that it was marked around $145 and would have been over the $100 more in trade than what he claimed I deserved. Though me an honest person, said something about it, and he told me, "I thought it was $40" so then he just put the game back and had to pick something else closer to his so called store credit. Also, while I was in the store, I said we'll how much he would give me for one of my items because I was trying to figure out what he was giving me for what. He then replied, " That has no value it a system pack in. However the day he had it up on his site for what I thought it was worth, then I inquired about another one he said at most it was worth $10 and showed him my app., he said "my app. was wrong and that it wasn't worth $30". The next I saw on his website, he had already sold it for $30, like I said! I do have the screenshot for proof besides the fact that I am an adult and my father was with me and heard everything he said. So, I took so things for trade to the Game Exchange in Media, and I have to say that's where I truly should have gone this whole time and the people who are willing to do right by all parties and has one of the best selection of games retro/current. Also they are very personable and warm, they care, they are a true game shop. I really feel like EE Comics & Games not only took advantage of and played. I think the only way I would ever go there again is if they reached out to do what is right. I never felt so taken advantage of and lied to I thought he was a fellow gamer.

Among the game shops nearby, this seems to be the main one where people can sit down and play a good game of commander. The card shop isn't particularly large, but has a front area with games and figures, a few glass counters with singles in the middle, then about 6 open tables in the back area for group TCG games. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The single cards that were available were most of the popular commander stables people might be looking for, but from my understanding, they also have an online TCG Player inventory that you can browse through. Their commander open-play nights are also convenient - Mondays and Saturdays. This is a great alternative to the other major store about 30 mins away, Alternate Universes, which has their commander open play on Tuesdays and Fridays. Overall, great place to come and chill out for MTG commander games.
