I've been coming here for years and I'm disappointed in myself that I haven't left a review of my favorite comic shop before. The staff is always friendly, honest, and helpful. They do a great job of introducing fresh comics that are new, while keeping the classics that everyone knows rolling in. While I'm writing I have to thank two staff members Amanda and Brian for always having an answer to my questions. I put myself on their email list now being up to date on what's coming out is easy and I can reach out to them if I need to. read more

I reached out to this shop on behalf of our school and a ComiCon we are hosting for our students. I offered the shop a free table in the 'Artist Alley'. I did not ask for any donations or free materials. I even offered to pay them if they wanted to host a breakout session. It was a brief phone call. The owner curtly replied, "We'll sit this one out." I found out about this place on Facebook and the store looks really cool, friendly and inviting on their page. I was excited to go check it out! I went in 2 Saturdays ago and was there for about 30 minutes and not once did any staff approach me to welcome me or ask if I had any questions. It was obvious that it was my first time as I wandered a bit aimlessly around the store checking it out and trying to find my way around. In the time i was there, maybe 2 other people had come in ro look at comics, and they had table games going in in the back, but the store was nit busy at all. Their statues display is amazing, and the comic selection was ok. Not sure if I would go back as I'd rather give business to a store that values their patrons stopping in. read more

I've been coming to this shop for a couple of years now with various subscriptions and I'm grateful it's so close by because I wouldn't pick another comic shop to visit. It is on the small side, but that makes it more inviting to visit, personally. There's always awesome figures to see and the comics are all neatly displayed and easily found. Everyone who works the desk is very friendly and knowledgeable. If they can't answer your question(s) immediately, they get back to you with what answers they've found. They've let me know when a series was coming to an end, and if I wanted to replace it with something else when the current series ran out, and chatted over options. Gave suggestions similar to the ending series. Any special orders are always welcomed and looked into, gone above and beyond for. There are regular emails sent out with updates, reminders, series changes, additions, specials they were able to get in, etc. The owner is always on top of things and has always been wonderful with communication both inside the store and through emails. Even during the pandemic and everyone dealing with that mess, she's been a star. I'm very very grateful for this place over the years and the people who help run it. read more

Greetings and salutations. I have been collecting comic books since 1984 and giving my business to Comicmania since the end of 2016. In 2017, the owner's daughter took control of the business and I can honestly say that I am thrilled with the service I receive and the books I can get. Anytime I have a question, I always get immediate help, whether in person or by e-mail. I can talk with staff about anything and it is amazing service. I collect around 15 issues a month and I always get what I order. If there is a mistake (which has happened once or twice; people are human after all), it is quickly fixed. I can even get indy comics and off the wall stuff, though you may have to order it, but the store makes it easy. Really old back issues are a little harder to come by in the store, but you can get them as well as people will regularly sell their old comics to the store and the staff lets you sift through them. You can take your time looking at all the stuff. The store sells a lot of other things too, especially gaming stuff. I highly recommend this store. The management and staff are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and will go the distance to help you out. You can find the books you are looking for and maybe some other nifty things too. read more

If you're going to be a monkey you might as well be a gorilla... If you're going to be a comic book store be a comic book store! I was seriously disappointed in this store! Don't get me wrong the place looks great! The life sized Predator in the large glass case is always cool to see. But for a comic book store the place is lacking on selection. Great for Marvel and Dc but not much else. If you're into gaming this is probably where you want to go. That being said, I drove 2 hours from the beach to visit a place I used to call my local shop. Now in a different location. I was excited. I hadn't been to Comicmania in years. And for good reason I would come to realize. I had a rather large selection of issues I was after. Mostly Image some IDW and Vertigo. I couldn't find but a single issue... Talk about disappointment. I had to drive almost a half hour to a "Real" comic book shop. (The Comic Book Shop)(Marsh Rd.) I'm lucky it was black Friday weekend! The service was awful! Nobody asked if I needed help. The guy behind the counter was uninterested in my pacing in confusion. Finnaly I decided to ask for help figuring I was just missing my mark. Rudely I was told "We don't carry Image, they don't sell"... Just a heads up "Comicmania" I've been to every Comic book store from Salisbury to Philadelphia and you're the only one with a limited selection of comics. You're the only one who doesn't carry Image... You should change your name to Magicmania or Comicskinda.... Epic Fail! read more

I went to buy some mtg cards to get my girlfriends kids into the game. The employees are very nice and helpful. They have a very clean and orderly place, which is rare at comic shops. I look forward to the mtg events that they have as well as having future comic purchases here. read more

There is no doubt that this is a comic book store, however their magic the gathering events are poorly managed and there are a lot of cheating incidences at their booster drafts and Friday night magic events that the store does nothing about. read more

I agree with the most recent review. I've been shopping at Comicmania for the past six months. I think it's important to support a local store. I recently moved to the area and had been using online services prior to this. Having a local shop to go to has made reading comics much more enjoyable for me lately. They have a great selection. They have an excellent subscription service with a private mailbox, I show up monthly, pick up about 7 to 10 new comics and go on my way. 10% discount off all the comics. The couple who now run the store are very pleasant to deal with and exceptionally knowledgeable. They will go out of their way to find comics not in stock. They also will put aside issues and alternate covers of things not on my subscription list that they think I will enjoy. read more

"New store hours" aren't posted anywhere but on a piece of paper on the front door. Left for work early so I could shop for a few comics and walked up to a closed shop that's not open. What a bummer and a waste of time. read more

I'm not entirely certain what the deal with this store is. My impression is that this store must be the meeting place for a club of people who regularly play Magic: The Gathering and have comic book subscriptions. There wasn't a whole lot on the shelves apart from a smattering of recent issues and some statues; a sign advertised a discount on large, bulk purchases of Magic cards. Almost half the store was dedicated to a series of folding tables where they likely have Magic tournaments. It's well kept the workers are amazing and they have a great selection of comics.(super sons is the best) I wasn't really into magic the gathering but that's to the nice customers and workers they thought me how to play and I play almost every day! I wish I didn't have to give even one star. It isn't that the store isn't well kept and organized...it is. However, I walked in to the store one evening last week to ask a question about some pristinely kept, vintage Fangoria magazines my brother and I had unearthed. I was quickly 'question-shamed' by the arrogant clerk behind the counter. I know every comic store isn't going to carry everything. I innocently asked the question to get direction as to where or if there was an interest in Fangoria mags... I was not there to sell and didn't even have the mags with me. the clerk, I loosely use that term, then proceeded to tell me to either donate them to a nursing home, Goodwill or trash them as there was no market what so ever for them. He rudely began to argue with me saying loudly how can I expect him to give me above market prices for something that is sold on Amazon, blah, blah, blah... I never even asked for any money! I wonder how someone can treat anyone, especially a potential customer or even fellow innocent human being with such disdain and unnecessary ugliness is beyond my comprehension!!! If you are the manager and are reading this review, consider a new employee before this guy shuts your store down! And, btw, I spoke to a kind and extremely helpful employee at Midtown Comics in NYC...she and her buyer were happy to help me out with info on the Fangoria magazines. Call them instead. read more

If you're looking for comics, up to date or past comics but don't care about the price or a good sale, come to this store. I feel compelled to warn people about this store, and about treatment you may receive when you get there. Years ago I came to Comicmania and everyone is nice and cordial except the owner. Despite having a subscription to comics there he was constantly harassing me and saying that I couldn't 'read the books' at the store even though I constantly purchased there. I stopped going after I was accused of 'only getting the books that I think I can sell. I started going to Captain Blue Hen, much nicer owner there. I came back years later thinking maybe people change and grow, but I was received a very rude awakening. The same owner came up to me in a crowded store and said 'can I help you find anything.' I said no, I was just looking, thanks. I was looking because comics are so expensive these days $3.99-$4.99 a piece that I have to make sure I'm satisfied with a purchase, and even the 'discounts' are expensive there. However, a few minutes later he comes up to me again, no one else, and says 'It's ok to look through the books but you can't read the whole book in the store.' He just outright accused me of reading the whole thing and assumed I wasn't going to buy anything. I told him I wasn't and he just left in a huff. I was so put off by being harassed again after all these years that I left and didn't purchase anything. I've never been treated so rudely by anyone in any store to this day. I can't give any business to anyone who is harassing me as soon as I walk in the store, and making me feel self conscious simply for looking, and there's no sign that says anything to the contrary. If you want just comics and don't care about treatment, this store is ok, but if you don't want yourself or your friends or family to be harassed for who knows what reason, I would definitely go to another store, where one is treated with respect and not judged as soon as they walk through the door, very disappointing. read more
