But I figured FCBD was the perfect opportunity since most shops use it as a way to connect with and introduce new patrons to their business. Upon opening the front door, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly cat. I thought, okay, this is my type of place, being a cat guy myself. But that's where the warm feelings end. Unfortunately, the feline was the only friendly personality here as the owner didn't want to acknowledge or make it feel like I was really wanted. (And after reading some of these other reviews, I can see that I'm not alone in that regard.) As for the selection of books itself, there is certainly a HUGE selection of new releases and back issue bins to go through. Unfortunately, all the back issues are priced at market value or higher. Not exactly a competitive price considering all of the other local comic book stores in the same area have much better pricing. Plus, dollar bins.

I'm not sure if the store is still owned by him or run by family or not, but I stopped by on my way to see fiends in the area, (it's been like 40 years now) it was not the same store I remember in the 70-80's but the doors were locked. The back issues bins have been upgraded from endless rows of beat-up white paper boxes to a beautiful and easier-to-sift-through shelving system with integrated display bins. The books in that section are two dollars a piece. They also have an extensive new release section and individually priced back issues to go with the higher-priced wall books on display behind the counter. The store owner is friendly and welcoming, too. He can either talk to you all day about comics or just be quiet and let you do your thing. The place is super clean, and on-street parking is easy and convenient, too.

After I found it I walked back to the counter to see that he had pulled all of my pack fresh cards out and was man handling them, full bends and scraping them around like he was playing with his own cards. They have some decent prices for singles but awful prices for sealed packs, well over market even. After he ruined the value of my cards and offered me 58% trade in credit I was left feeling awful. Wouldn't recommend as there are better card shops and better comic book stores within 15 minutes from here. Plus it smells really bad!! I've never seen so many great board games from traditional style games to role playing games to video games. Collectible figures of all kinds were also in stock from old to new. Also for you Funko Pop collectors there is a great selection available. I was able to add a few rare finds to my collection which I had been looking for. Just knock, Tom keeps the door locked for obvious reasons--he's a cash only business, and he's got a massive amount of various collectibles. We came here looking for comic books for ourselves and for a friend. Tom was immensely helpful and we left with various volumes and a cute tote bag we can bring the next time we come shopping. The store is immaculately organized so despite having a lot of stuff, the environment doesn't feel overwhelming. I've been going here for weeks and not once has it been organized or not in complete disarray. The owner is nice , I believe his name is Mike, but the other store employee is just unpleasant. I asked for change once and asked if I had anything smaller, which thankfully I did that day. But the second time I had a 50 and asked hey do you have change for this? (I was buying $35 worth of things) and instead of saying, sorry I don't have any change. he got incredibly angry with me and said I will not be giving you change at the start of the day and that I "tried to do this last time" I wasn't rude either time to provoke him, I was just trying to pay cash since it's the nice thing to do for a small business. I will from now on be trying my best to never go here again, I recommend you do the same. There is a store 7 minutes from here that is much cleaner, nicer, and has a larger selection to choose from. I would suggest going there.

This place has recently undergone a HUGE renovation. Gone is the dingy lighting and walls of…read moremagazines and books and sub par toy offerings. The new look is brightly lit and the magazines and videos have been replaced by racks of toys and playtime clothing. The toy selection has undergone a SERIOUS update. Gone are the cheap items made with dodgy materials from no name manufacturers. They've been replaced with mid and high tier selections for every experience level. The live girl shows are still here. There is a theater upstairs where the video booths used to be. Entry costs money unless you come as a couple. And to help accommodate more weekend fun, the store and theater are now open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday.
