I went here for Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) as a way to finally get a feel for the place. I had…read moreheard of Fat Jack's, but I always keep forgetting to check it out considering it's right down the street from Secret Origins. But I figured FCBD was the perfect opportunity since most shops use it as a way to connect with and introduce new patrons to their business. Upon opening the front door, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly cat. I thought, okay, this is my type of place, being a cat guy myself. But that's where the warm feelings end. Unfortunately, the feline was the only friendly personality here as the owner didn't want to acknowledge or make it feel like I was really wanted. (And after reading some of these other reviews, I can see that I'm not alone in that regard.) As for the selection of books itself, there is certainly a HUGE selection of new releases and back issue bins to go through. Unfortunately, all the back issues are priced at market value or higher. Not exactly a competitive price considering all of the other local comic book stores in the same area have much better pricing. Plus, dollar bins.

I'm not sure, but when I was a kid growing up in the area, this store was just called the Comicrpyt…read moreand the owner was always friendly and nice to everyone. I'm not sure if the store is still owned by him or run by family or not, but I stopped by on my way to see fiends in the area, (it's been like 40 years now) it was not the same store I remember in the 70-80's but the doors were locked. I had a lot of great memories and still have most of the books he sold to me even now.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I wish the arcade machines worked but they're only for display. The shelves are packed w/ everything from the latest ,manga,Marvel & DC (you name it they have it)issues to rare back issues that you don't see anywhere else. I spent ages flipping through back issues, discovering old favorites, & even some titles I'd never heard of before. The manga section is amazing too! Honestly, it's one of the best I've ever seen! And the collectibles! Action figures, vintage posters, Funko Pops, & even some high-end statues sprinkled throughout the store made it feel like a mini museum of nerdy goodness. The staff are super friendly & clearly love what they do. They were happy to chat about my finds, give recommendations, or just geek out w/ me over classic storylines. I even found a few hidden gems in the dollar bins that felt like little victories. Atomic Comics isn't just a store it's an experience. It's cozy & full of charm. If you love comics, collectibles, or just want to spend a few hours exploring a place where fandom really comes alive, this is the spot! I'll def be coming back!

The cashier literally did not engage me and my partner- she didn't engage the folks that came in the store before us either. Both sets of patrons - literally begging to purchase something. Its perfectly fine to have extremely overpriced items because we were looking to do nothing more than purchase them. But nothing online was in the store.... NOT ONE TEASHIRT!! - to make matters worst... it was freezing!! I called to make sure the establishment was open.. no answer... only a text reply to get there and see this girl in a silent empty shop ... sis you could have answered. Ill be back... but without the excitement.

Her energy, style, positive vibes were such a treat! I can't wait to do the tour again!!
