Despite having a reputation for high prices, I decided to check it out, and it very recently changed hands. The new owners are incredibly friendly and knowledgable, and are curating quite a deep selection of desirable discs, all impeccably organized and labeled. Best yet, these labels show not only the standard quality grades but also other important details. As I walked in they were just putting out a large batch of immaculate Japanese pressings of 70s and 80s rock and jazz recordings, all in NM condition complete with obi bands. As I'm primarily interested in sound quality, I was truly in heaven. And it gets better... I was able to audition all my potential purchases on their quite decent system, all of which I bought, and they sound flawless on my very high resolution system. Note: the prices marked seemed very fair (Japanese imports in NM condition are normally very pricey) but I my case they discounted the price considerably because I bought three albums. read more

A bit on the smaller side and not greatly organized but if you've got time to dig you'll come across a few gems.

Yes they have rare records and everything is cleaned and sleeved. The shop is quaint and organized well. But, this does not out weigh the exorbitant prices. I'm not cheap, I have a 3,000 lp collection and will pay top dollar for a rare record. But, the prices here are just ridiculous. I have been to at least 30 records shops on the east coast and this is by far the one that prices the highest. read more

THE BEST RECORD STORE EVER. The couple that owns and works the store are fans of music and are very knowledgeable. The selection of records is top notch. Vintage copies, first pressings, brand new modern copies, and even factory sealed vintage copies. Everything comes in a new outer and inner sleeve (original inners are also included). I've been coming here once a week since discovering it and everything I've picked up looks and sounds great. They also update their selection frequently so you might find something new every time you come in. Down with the hipster shops. This place is for REAL MUSIC FANS. I finally had the opportunity to check out Haddonfield Record Exchange, which has been on my checklist of Jersey record shops to visit for a while. I was in the area on my way back home from Philly and it was close. Haddon Field is a small suburb located about 15 minutes outside of Philadelphia in Camden County. The shop is small but well maintained. It's very quaint inside - with everything presented with care and a personal touch. You can tell the owner(s) take a lot of pride with the shop.. The man behind the counter was friendly, too. There are CDs as well as vinyl here. The storefront of the record exchange is on a block where there are a few other shops. There is street parking up front, but you can also park on one of the residential side streets. It was cool to stop in and look around the shop. read more

I stopped into this shop while visiting friends even though I live a good distance away. At first I was not impressed with the pricing until I really examined the quality of the vinyl they had. Bottom line is if you want high quality vinyl you need to pay for it and this place is top notch. They had a lot of uncommon metal albums in excellent condition. Classic metal is hard enough to find used in shops, but very hard to find in such great condition. I found myself having to make some very tough decisions as I didn't have the budget to leave with everything i wanted. Everything I purchased looked like it was brand new and the prices lined up with going rates online for comparable quality. But unlike online I could listen to and examine what i was buying. The owners told me they only put out for sale what they would buy themselves as collectors and it shows. If you are looking to dive into bins and look through dirty garage sale vinyl for bargains this place is not for you. If you want some really clean vintage vinyl, stop in and take a look around. read more

Very cool little shop. The owners are very friendly and passionate about music. The records are clean, curated, and fairly priced. This is the opposite of browsing through dusty used records at a thrift shop or yard sale. You're not going to score any $1 miracle finds here, but you'll get a record in great condition from somebody that loves music as much as you do. Most LPs are in the $10-$20 range which is fair pricing for stuff of this quality. Ultimately, the most important test is "Will I be back?" For me the answer is "yeah, I'm looking forward to it!" read more

I visited Haddonfield Record Exchange today and it was not what I was expecting. This is a rare find. The shop is full of hard to find, rare records in amazing condition. If you are looking for budget records you will not find them here, but if you are looking for quality this is where it's at. The store is pristinely organized with every record having new inner and outer sleeves. All the records are clean and dust free. I dug through every crate and there was not a record below VG+. I picked up two hard to find gems, there were many more I wanted but my monthly record budget made me stop. The owners are extremely passionate about music. Cool little shop with a good selection of vinyl as well as some CDs and memorabilia. Prices on collectible stuff was just on the high side of average. Condition was graded on the conservative side and records were clean. Everything was clearly labeled which was nice and the owners were fun to chat with. Classic Rock is definitely where this shop shines, with a good amount of hard-to-find stuff available (including on the floor that hadn't been priced yet!). Nice store with pretty good quality records. BUT. A lot of the stock is way over priced for sales that have been tracked locally, regionally and globally. When asked why so much more than the norm the reply is, that's what I want for it. When making my purchase on a few reasonably priced items, I was told, oh I priced that at $20 when the sticker said $8. I was made to feel like I was stealing. I will not return. read more

Its a small store but every record in there is of very high quality. Every record for sale is in fantastic shape, I have yet to buy a record with even minor scratches. Arguably the friendliest staff I've ever met at a record store. The owner was very knowledgeable and very friendly. great atmosphere for sure. The only knock would be that the records are slightly overpriced, but you can be certain that you are getting a good pressing and in good condition. read more

Went here for the first time over the weekend. I'll be back. Well curated selection of rock and jazz. Not much in the way of hip hop, but I wasn't necessarily looking for that (even though I wound up buying a rap album I saw). Great, relaxed vibe. Found some great originals and foreign releases from the 60s and 70s. Very nice owners that clearly love and care about what they do. read more

what can i say about the haddonfield record exchange. they have a great selection of music (cds / cassettes / vinyls), they have great prices, the store is beautifully decorated. the owners are super nice and very helpful. i have been to the store numerous times and have always been treated great, the owners are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet and you can see that music is a passion of theirs. i can't wait to go back again, it's my favorite record shop that i have been to. i highly recommend you go and check it out cause you never know what hidden gem you might come across. five star service. a+ great atmosphere, great music, great selections and great service with great friendly owners. read more
