I've been coming to this vet for about five years now and always make the recommendation to friends…read morewhen asked about where to take their pets. Overall the entire vet staff (doctors) are amazing. They are extremely passionate about what they do and will be honest and work with you based on your situation to find the best solution for your furry friend. This is the main reason why I come back and drive about 30 minutes out of the way to take all my four pups here. This is a hard thing to find in the vet industry as most office feel like sterile operations. On the flip side I will say my only con is I have had my issues with the front desk such as booking appointments, being on hold for long periods, not being able to get in during an emergency over the years, but since I was here last it appears there's a new staff at the desk in place and this has since been corrected by the practice. As this issue has gotten way better. Definitely don't let it steer you away from coming here but just make sure to document your booked appointments. And I'll also mention that my issue of booking during an emergency was addressed by the doctor, who told me to ask for them directly if anything like that happens again. Regarding price they are extremely reasonable. Take your pup here you won't regret it! :)

I've been taking my dog here for years. I can't recommend this place enough to people looking for a…read moredaycare/ boarding for their pups. They are amazing. At one point, there was a Dogtopia that opened up 5 min. from where I work, and I made the mistake of switching daycares because it was much closer. Ended up bringing my pup back here after she was injured at that Dogtopia and I never heard back from the owner. I will never make that mistake again. Wag is so much better in terms of communication and how responsive they are to anything I bring up. Plus their staff is amazing with my pup, every time we come in they know her and are so excited to see her and vice versa. She practically forgets about me when they lead her in. Lol. And she always leaves exhausted after a day here because they have so many activities and cute little crafts they do with the pups depending on which day of the week you go. Also the indoor pool. I also boarded her here for about a week during a vacation last year and felt so at ease knowing she was safe and in such good hands. I received updates constantly. That's another thing too, the text communication makes things so quick and easy, especially for appointments. Plus they keep on top of vaccinations and fecals, which is so important. I could go on and on, but this place is like the Hilton for doggy daycares, but it's actually affordable. Lol. You won't find a better spot for your fur baby.

Destinys Doggy Daycare/Boarding - Buddy & Bronco

Destinys Doggy Daycare/Boarding

We entrusted Destiny's Doggy Daycare and Boarding with our dog while we were on vacation, and…read moreunfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. Before booking, we were told that our dog would not require a meet-and-greet because there were no other boarding dogs scheduled during his stay. However, after we had already dropped him off and were too far away to return, we saw photos posted showing him interacting with other dogs. At first, we assumed everything was going well and that he had made some friends. For context, he lives with another dog at home and has never had any issues. What concerns us most is that we were not informed about any injury until approximately 30 minutes before pickup. When we arrived, our dog had several scratches as well as what appeared to be puncture wounds on his cheek consistent with a bite. There was also a visible mark on his nose that has since left a scar. We were told that some of these injuries may have been caused by him breaking through a fence. This explanation was difficult to accept, as he has never displayed destructive behavior at home or attempted to break through fencing. The following day, our dog was noticeably limping after returning home. Despite the injuries he sustained while in their care, no offer was made to assist with or cover any veterinary evaluation or treatment related to the incident. When we later raised our concerns, the owner denied telling us that our dog would be the only boarding dog during his stay, despite that being our understanding when we booked. The conflicting information, lack of communication regarding the injuries, and absence of accountability have left us very concerned. I would also note that our dog is a bully breed. Unfortunately, dogs of this breed are often judged more harshly than others. Had the roles been reversed and another dog had been injured by our dog, I believe the consequences for him could have been severe. That makes it even more important that all dogs in a boarding facility are properly supervised and that incidents are handled transparently. Pet owners deserve to be notified immediately when injuries occur and to have confidence that their pets are being cared for in a safe environment. Based on our experience, I encourage others to ask detailed questions about supervision practices, dog interactions, and incident reporting policies before boarding their pets here.

The questionnaire made me confident and proved they wanted to learn about the dogs in advance. Once our puppy was old enough to join, I reached out to Lisa because I was concerned that Moxie was scared when meeting new dogs, especially puppies, and due to her being too young + covid, she had not met as many. I was probably more worried than necessary, but Lisa NEVER made me feel that way. She spent lots of time talking with me about a plan to make sure Moxie and I were comfortable. She had us come in the evening after most dogs had left, and she knew that the dogs that would be there were good dogs for Moxie to meet. It went very well and Lisa assured me that Moxie's behavior was normal for a puppy and nothing to cause concern. Lisa suggested a specific day for Moxie to start coming based on personality matches with the other dogs. Now Moxie goes at least once a week and sometimes three. Moxie gets very excited and I can barely stop her from jumping out of the car to get in. She has boundless energy and Dawg On It helps with that, but above all, we know Moxie is safe and happy, while we can get some work done at home! Thank you, Lisa, Al, and Kai for your amazing help and for always texting back so quickly!

I will leave my initial review here but want to provide an update: my concerns were addressed and…read morethe situation was fairly handled. I wasn't asked to update my review but given their professionalism and willingness to listen to my feedback, I felt compelled to update my review. I encourage all dog parents to trust the bark avenue staff with their babies. They do a phenomenal job and truly care. Initial review: I've brought my Beagle mix Sookie here many times, mostly for overnight stays. In the past, the staff has always been friendly and communicative. They gave us a tour our first day and the space is clean and designed to give the pups plenty of space to play. I liked that we could check out their Facebook page to see how Sookie was doing in photos and videos. During Sookie's last stay, we got a voicemail from the staff letting us know that she wasn't going to have open play with all of the other dogs. Apparently, she had gotten too rowdy and would need to be placed in a smaller group. In addition, we would be charged an extra $5 per night for her stay because she would require extra attention. (We got this call day 2 of a 9 day stay.) I was upset, not because of the price increase but because I was concerned about Sookie. She is sweet but can be super hyper at times. Still, they'd never before expressed to me that she had behavioral issues during her other stays. I called back to get further explanation but kept missing the owner/manager. I left at least one voicemail, maybe two after the initial time they picked up and we spoke, just to see if Sookie had progressed. No one got back to me and I didn't see any pictures of her on social media which I thought was odd. When we went to pick her up, I expressed my disappointment, letting a staff member know that I didn't see Sookie on their Facebook after her first day there. Sookie's energy was very low when she got home and she was shedding a lot more hair than usual. Maybe she was stressed out? I don't know what her experience was like after day 2 because no one ever got back to me to let me know. Was she put in a kennel and only let out certain times? I have no idea.
