We have been a Patriot HVAC customer since we purchased an entire Rheem HVAC system for our home on…read more29 April 2014. We have had super equipment reliability across twelve (12) years. On 12 January 2026, we noticed the house was cold when we woke up. After looking at our thermostat, I tried to change the batteries to see if it fixed the problem which it did not. We called Patriot at 10:06 am, explained our problem, and got on their list to send out a technician. Mike arrived at 11:00 am to check out system to determine the problem. I explained what we experienced with our heating system that morning and then he began his trouble shooting. After checking the furnace fault codes and operation, Mike came upstairs to look at the thermostat. He stated he needed to hardwire the thermostat to the system which he did in a few minutes. When the furnace turned on, Mike went downstairs to monitor fault codes on the furnace. He stated the codes cleared and that is all we needed for the fix. Our heating system has been working just fine since this repair. We always receive prompt service response from Patriot as well as service we trust when Mike has performed work in our home. We highly recommend Patriot HVAC.

Pleased to write an update after having Town & Country out again for some a check up on the A/C…read more You can schedule online, and in this case they were booked up several weeks for routine check-ins, but fortunately we weren't having any issues with the unit so it was fine to wait. I ended up calling and they were very friendly. It's a four hour wait and they'll text with a GPS enabled link to track them. We had a tech named Joel come out and he was highly professional, and really did a great job. He ran all the diagnostics, wasn't pushy about anything but did let me know about some available offers, and found our A/C capacitor was basically on it's last gasps. He even showed me the diagnostic report which helped me to realize that, yeah, we gotta fix this. My A/C unit also has this high pitched whine to it, just always has.. but Joel tightened a few extra bolts and got the noise to die down which was a huge win. I love sitting on my porch and that noise has been slowly eroding my sanity. He also cleaned the ever living hell out of my coils. I mean, he took everything about, took his time, used a cleanser, and they came out looking brand new. Between that, the filter, the new capacitor, we should have an efficient and fully operating A/C as we head into the hottest time of the year. My last review I said I think I've found my go-to for HVAC stuff, as they seemed professional and a step up from some others I've had out over the years. After a few visits I can definitely say they'll be my first. Go with the local guys and try them out for yourself.

I figured it needed to be replaced, but the tech did some maintenance to it and fixed it. I asked how much it would cost to replace it and he said it depends on many different factors of what you want and need but right now it's running good now. So, why replace it if it's running well? I agreed. When the A/C does go out, I'll get hold of United and have them come out and give me a bid for a new one along with a couple other companies. I was told United offered financing too which was nice to know. I have recommended United before and will continue to because the job got done quickly and professionally and done right the first time and that old A/C is still running well.

As soon as the AC stopped working I called Harrington to repair it. The technician that was sent did not have the proper tools to complete the job. I had to lend him a socket to get into the unit and once in, he lacked the tools to test the equipment. After making several phone calls to troubleshoot the problem he informs me that we will have to call someone else to come and repair it since they did not have the necessary part nor the time to do so themselves. This was at 4:00 on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend in which we were having family come to visit. To make matters worse, the most likely cause of the equipment failure was improper installation.

Which is understandable. The problem I ran into with them is that I felt that I was being oversold on a couple things. The technician informed me that I need to put in a new capacitor for the furnace. I said go ahead because I was trusting his guidance. Well, turns out that since the AC unit went out, it is best to replace not only that, but the cooling coil AND put in an updated furnace to boot. This of course was told to me after he put in the capacitor. Which was too late to say no. Heartland charged me $96 for a part if you Google it costs $5 - $6 on average! And literally takes zero effort to connect it. Very frustrating. Then when I had the sales person come out for the official bid along with the owner, both were very professional and nice guys. However, again... I felt I was getting over sold. One thing that stood out in my mind was when the owner, Jim (I believe is his name) showed me that one of the air ducts was not making a 'hollow tin' sound when you press on it. That it was a sign it was rusted out from the inside and needed to be replaced. Granted I needed some duct work as some were definitely rusted. However, that particular air duct he was referring to was just insulated on the inside because it takes air away from the furnace. The hollow duct is only for return air ducts. Which makes total since. Thinking about this I feel that for someone that has been in the business for so long should have known that. Maybe not...but I just felt I was getting over sold again to drive the bid up even higher. As for the bid itself. I will say they were the most expensive by at least 20%. In short. Nice, friendly people and knowledgeable. However, they are very expensive and gave me the impression that I was being oversold. Starting with that $96 capacitor. Needless to say, I did not go with them.

Let's start this with the technicians are very clean and courteous. We used Corum a couple of times…read moreand then we signed up for their service plan. The service plan sounds awesome in theory but... The company came over at least a half a dozen times to try to problem solve an issue with my HVAC system. The HVAC system was about 6 years old and still under warranty. Again, the technicians were all extremely polite and seemed somewhat knowledgeable. After trying several fairly cost effective options they narrowed it down to the blower motor. They priced The replacement of the blower motor at $1,500. I felt that that was a little high as the standard rate was between $300 and 1,500. I called around to get some estimates. I found another local company here in Kansas City that gave me a price of $600. I called Corum to discuss why there was such a variance in the price quote for the job. The office manager that does the billing nor the manager of the facility wanted to talk to me. I understand that you have to pay for these technicians to go on site, evaluate and do their job, but don't say that you are going to have a service plan with no cost and then Jack up the price on the back end. Management refusing to talk to me about their billing practices was all I needed to know. After all is said and done, we got the new blower motor, a rerouted drip line, a new motherboard and a fresh warranty for well under $1,000.
