I figured it needed to be replaced, but the tech did some maintenance to it and fixed it. I asked how much it would cost to replace it and he said it depends on many different factors of what you want and need but right now it's running good now. So, why replace it if it's running well? I agreed. When the A/C does go out, I'll get hold of United and have them come out and give me a bid for a new one along with a couple other companies. I was told United offered financing too which was nice to know. I have recommended United before and will continue to because the job got done quickly and professionally and done right the first time and that old A/C is still running well.

I called with a toilet emergency at 3:30 in the morning, and Danny was on call; he walked me through some safeguards I could take to shut off my water while they cleared a spot in their schedule for later that day to fix the problem. Later on that day, Danny was the plumber to respond in person as well. He was quick, efficient, courteous, and friendly to me and my family (and very accommodating to the fact that I had a curious three year-old who wanted to ask a million questions about what was going on). This is a great company, with very fair prices, but the reason we'll always call them first from now on is the wonderful hiring decisions they make. A+ job for some A+ plumbers!

They responded and said they understood. The tech would arrive when scheduled. We took off work for the installation. The day arrived; it was a Friday, and the technician showed up. He looked around and stated that he had a few appointments prior to mine (it was 10:30 am), and he was out of supplies to complete the work... including installing the faucet!!?? He rescheduled for a week later. A week later came. Quality Plumbing contacted me and stated that we should change our date because they scheduled us for a Holiday and costs would be much higher. I thanked them and rescheduled. (Tuesday, 8-12) The day arrived, and 12:00 pm came and went. We contacted them. Oops... they forgot to put us on their books.. The entire experience was frustrating and absolutely unprofessional. I called Anthony's. They came out 2 hours after we called and completed the project in just a few hours. I don't know how this company has 5 stars... but my experience barely gives them a one. You can try your luck and maybe risk posting a review like mine, or go to someone a bit more trustworthy.

I purchased a home in KC and the A/C unit was brand new and just purchased. The work was done very…read morepoorly so I looked up the serial number on the A/C unit with the local wholesaler. They informed it was sold and installed by Affordable Comfort KC. ACKC installed the A/C unit and replaced the coil in the HVAC. Their work did not hold up as the ducting slowly sunk into the unit and separated from the rest of the house. It was not reinstalled properly at all. I called ACKC six different times this past summer telling them I would pay them to fix thier work. I never received a call back for scheduling the repair. During our last call I told them this is the last time I would be calling if I didn't get a response and leave a bad review with pictures of their work. I did not receive a call. This process was between two and three months long. They had time to call me back. Man of my word, here is the review. In conclusion: ACKC was unwilling to call me back and stand by their work or even come out and look at the poor install. I would be happy to replace this review if they would just come do the work. I'm even willing to pay them for their time and update my google review. Just make it right.

I have never had any issues or repairs, but they come out and do my maintenance twice a year. Today I had a scheduled maintenance visit with Tara, and I can't say enough good things about her. She was not only professional and thorough, but she really took the time to go above and beyond in explaining things to me in a way that actually made sense. One thing that really stood out was how she walked me through how, why, and when to flush my water heater. She also let me know that they do plumbing too if I'd like help. Honestly, I had no idea this was even something I was supposed to be doing, and she didn't just mention it in passing she made sure to answer all my questions and explain why it mattered. I signed up for their annual maintenance plan ($199/yr, 2 service visits). They came out to do the…read moreAC checkout, since the system was 1 year old. Everything checked out fine. I didn't appreciate the $2,000 in "stuff" that I was offered to buy, but, I haven't seen an HVAC company that doesn't do that. This was on a Friday morning. The problem didn't arise until my wife and I tried to take showers on Saturday. There was no hot water. Went down to check the hot water heather, which is next to the furnace. Instead of the dial being on "hot", it was on "pilot". How it got turned to pilot, I have no proof, but, I would imagine that the tech from Summit, either accidently, or for some reason on purpose, turned it to pilot. I sent a message thru the Summit HVAC website about what had happened. I got a call from the service manager on Monday. He said that there was no way, no possibility whatsoever, that his tech, in any way, shape, or form, could have moved that dial on the water heater. When I said "I guess it's a mystery", he said "sure is". But, he reassured me that Summit was still there to take care of me. I told him "that wasn't going to happen". I said I wanted out of the annual agreement and half my money back (I had paid the full $199). I got less back than I asked for, but, that is another story for perhaps another time. Needless to say, I do not need these people in my home. But, for everyone else, if you want techs that are infallible, and a company that will stand behind the infallibility of those techs, perhaps Summit HVAC is for you.
