The tech spent no more than 10 minutes at my house and charged an additional $200+ just to change the fuse, which he claimed was the problem. I was out of town at the time and was told by my dog sitters that the furnace stopped working again 2 days later. I came home and discovered that the tech didn't even bother to put the electrical box covers back on and left clipped wires on the floor. I decided to hire Call Dad AC & Heating for a second opinion and they actually took the time to properly diagnose the issue for a fraction of the price. Turns out it was a much bigger issue than a blown fuse and Mountain Air Mechanical Contractors ripped me off in an effort to be lazy and save time. They also told me they would charge another diagnostic fee if they had to come back, even though they clearly didn't fix the problem.

It finally turned into an iceberg in mid-November during the cold snap (reversing valve sensor inop). It took a couple visits to diagnose, acquire parts, and fix all the issues, and Doug's team kept us updated on progress throughout. However, the best part was when James asked if the unit was still under warranty. We checked and it was, with only two weeks remaining on the covered period! So all the parts were covered and the work was completed before the deadline. Considering how much time they spent I was very pleased with the final bill. It has been almost a year since the installation and it has performed flawlessly with the exception of the Xfinity thermostat which had some software glitches from Carrier that were resolved. This is a high end system and it works as I envisioned and has many options available through the thermostat that must be learned. I am having a whole house humidifier installed that will be controlled through the thermostat that will help with the air quality and efficiency. The installation was done professionally and correctly. The glitches were addressed quickly and properly. The installation technicians are knowledgeable and efficient. My heating and cooling costs are less even with Duke Energy's incessant rate hikes. I would recommend this company to anyone from a lower end budget customer to a high end.

They quoted me DOUBLE what it actually costs. When I reported the overcharge, I was told the technician would be written up. He was only written up because he got CAUGHT.
