For the most part they are hard working and great companions. Some are hard to understand . ( NONE FROM HATI) Because my services don't conform with their outline, we parted ways. If you are a millionaire +, and can offer a full month at a time this is the best service I've found thus far. What I did enjoy is they respected me, respected my belongings. What I didn't like is language barrier issues, simple tasks turn in to multi hour conundrums. And the constant need to tell their schooling and training. The desire to do things only one way. Within hours of my first online inquiry, I received a phone call which led to an in-home interview the next day to determine the right match for my senior. Care was set up two days later and the match was perfect. Every request for service was handled quickly including last minute trips to the doctor, which afforded me peace of mind. The woman who cared for my senior truly CARED for him and he looked forward to her visits. She did everything that was asked of her, but went steps beyond to be a caring companion and provide him company, care, safety and comfort. She made an evening trip to a pharmacy well after her shift ended to pick up a prescription, then stayed to set up a med box with careful instructions for him. An emergency trip to the hospital was handled with the utmost professionalism and care and she went above any measure I could have expected. Sadly, after the hospital visit, it was recommended he not live alone anymore and he moved out of state. She recently passed away at home at the age of 98. Starting about five years ago, Visiting Angels began providing caregivers for my mother for a few hours a day in the morning and in the evening. At the time she was mentally as sharp as ever and the caregivers only needed to make her breakfast or dinner and to do grocery shopping and some cleaning. By the last few months of her life, my mother needed someone with her 24 hours a day. Whether it was for only a few hours a day or for 24 hours a day, Visiting Angels was able to provide caregivers that were competent and caring. Some even became my mother's dear friends. Throughout the years that Visiting Angels was helping my mother, our account manager, Joan, scheduled the caregivers, filled in when a caregiver was unavailable, did the shopping - not only for groceries but from Amazon as well, cooked and kept the refrigerator and freezer stocked with really good meals and generally looked out for my mother's safety and best interests.
