He helped my husband make treatment decisions and was thorough in explaining what to expect day of, and following up. In addition, all of the staff in the facility were prompt, professional, and caring. We were so pleased with the service he received, so when I developed an issue with my hands and my PCO suggested seeing an orthopedic specialist, I called this practice. They were able to access my x-rays directly from RIMI, which I appreciated (no one wants to have to repeat tests). I saw a Fellow, who came in first to examine my hands and diagnose the problem (trigger finger - in both hands - that was causing pain, swelling, and lack of movement). Dr. Gil came in, confirmed the diagnosis - and let me know the treatment (steroid shot), and next line treatment (minor surgical procedure) if the steroid didn't cure the problem. He administered the shots in the exam room that day, letting me know that it might take a few days for reaction to be fully noticeable. Throughout my treatment too, the staff were helpful and offered great service. The Kettle Point facility is brand new, very clean, and a welcoming place to receive service. I'm mystified by the low ratings from others!

We've spent our fair share of time on floor two of the 2 Dudley Street building so this review is to provide information about our experience on floor two only - as we have not had to visit any of the other floors for our particular needs. Floor two is VERY busy at every moment of the day and it can be an overwhelming first visit. Here's what you can expect. When you step off the elevators, you will need to line up to the right behind the "wait here to be called" sign in the lobby. From here, one of the receptionists will call you over, check you in for your appointment, take payment, and direct you to which waiting area you should go to (they have three - A, B, and C) DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS DESK WITHOUT GETTING YOUR PARKING GARAGE VOUCHER for the Dudley Street garage - it costs $2 for a flat rate "chaser ticket" (which is a huge savings) and is payable in exact cash only. After checking in with the receptionist at the desk in your assigned waiting room, they will send you to a tech who will remove your cast before sending you to the X-ray desk. You will need to check in here too and hand them the paperwork provided by the person who removed your cast. Both the X-ray techs and the cast techs are friendly and explain exactly what they will be doing before they do any work. They introduce themselves and explain to the kids what noises they may hear and even demonstrated that the saw used to cut the cast will not cut your skin (how does it know the difference? so neat!) You will then be asked to return to the waiting area you were in previously and will wait to see the doctor. Usually this takes just a couple of minutes while they wait for the X-rays to become available. The visits are straightforward and depending on your progress you may or may not have to have the area recast. Casting options are limitless and they have a variety of materials, colors, and enhancements (like glitter) they can add to personalize it for you. If you'd like a waterproof option, tell them ahead of time so they can prepare that for you (the only color option for that is plain white). You will pay out of pocket for the "upgrade" as many insurance plans won't cover the additional expense but it may be worth your while depending on the time of year and length you'll need to wear your cast. You may also choose to buy a sling or other cast aid directly from online or local pharmacy, as many times insurance plans will bill OUTRAGEOUS prices if they have already provided one at a previous visit and you find yourself in need of a replacement.

Dr. Belanger is articulate and has great bedside manner and explained exactly what caused my injury and how to prevent it in the future, along with prescribing physicial therapy. Cons are the staff, they are very cold and condescending. I arrived at 8am for an 8:15 appointment and they were upset j was there that early. I'm not sure why. The office also doesn't like it when you ask questions about billing. Besides that, everything was groovy.

My accident was on a early Saturday morning in April of 2010. I was walking to my car via the back walk way/driveway and it had rained the night before causing water to pool up in the bottom of the drive where I park my car. As I took a step off of the walk and into the drive, my right foot slipped out in front of me and my left foot stayed in its place, however; the tibia bone (inside ankle bone) went towards the ground. I heard and felt a snap and I knew instantly that I had broken my ankle. My friend drove me to the Fatima hospital emergency room where I was seen quickly and upon a thorough examination and x-rays; it was determined that I had broken both the tibia and fibula bones and there was a good chance I would need surgery. The emergency room doctor referred me to Dr. Belanger at The Center for orthopedics and they were able to schedule an appointment for me on Monday. Going to see Dr. Belanger I knew nothing about him. My roommate at the time drove me to my appointment (since I broke my left ankle and own a 5 speed auto, I couldn't drive for 3 months.) I checked in with the receptionist, was taken in for more x-rays and then finally met with Dr. Belanger shortly thereafter. He was very kind and funny - unusual for a doctor. He's a younger man, which is probably the reason I thought he was so dang cool, and cute! He explained that yes, I would indeed need surgery and advised me to wait about a week to do so in order to let the swelling go down. He was very patient with my questions and explained everything in detail. The surgery was done at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, my mother came with me and Dr. Belanger came out prior to me going in under the knife and explained everything to me and my mother again. Dr. Belanger did a fantastic job with the surgery, leaving minimal scarring (considering I have a plate and 11 screws in my left ankle.) All of my follow up visits at The Center for Orthopedics were pleasant and without complication. This place was always busy, packed to the brim with people, but they are efficient in seeing everyone in a timely manner. Even Dr. Belangers secretary was very great to work with. I wish I hadn't had to have gone through this horrendous accident, but hey... it happened. The only good outcome of the whole ordeal is that I was thankfully matched up with Dr. Belanger and The Center for Orthopedics and working with them made the experience much easier to deal with.

Casting is quick and painless, and the technicians are friendly and make you feel comfortable. They validate parking - $2 cash only. If you're a Brown student/staff/faculty, take the university shuttle to RIH and just avoid parking altogether. The garage spaces are limited, and it can be a headache. I made an appointment and when I got there I was seen by Lauren Martinez PA. She was excellent. She ordered X-rays and examined me. She diagnosed the pain in my left arm as arthritis in the shoulder. She offered two solutions. 1 physical therapy a 2 steroid injection. I chose PT and did 6 weeks of PT but it did not solve the problem. I had my doubts about the cause being arthritis and therapist concurred. I tried to make an appointment with Dr. Rogers to discuss additional imaging to see if there was any muscle or nerve damage. The office told me I would be contacted. I received a call stating Dr. Rogers usually only sees patients who require surgery or injections. They offered another doctor in Mansfield I might try. I'm curious when you have a doctors appointment and see a PA instead does the insurance company get build a lower rate than when you see the doctor. It's disturbing to me that a doctor won't see a patient who request an appointment. I hope the PA is well paid. Again I reiterate she was excellent. I gave the practice 2 stars because the office was nice and the PA did her job.
