Karen, the money was never returned to my family. Also, my mother never got out of line for anyone because the notes they left me all stated she was good. Also, when it is written in the care plan to give meds and I can't tell you how many times they were not given to her and I know first hand because I used to have her pills saw it and put in a Ziploc plastic bag attach to the refrigerator with a magnet and when I would get home from work the bag would still be there filled with the pills. Within hours of my first online inquiry, I received a phone call which led to an in-home interview the next day to determine the right match for my senior. Care was set up two days later and the match was perfect. Every request for service was handled quickly including last minute trips to the doctor, which afforded me peace of mind. The woman who cared for my senior truly CARED for him and he looked forward to her visits. She did everything that was asked of her, but went steps beyond to be a caring companion and provide him company, care, safety and comfort. She made an evening trip to a pharmacy well after her shift ended to pick up a prescription, then stayed to set up a med box with careful instructions for him. An emergency trip to the hospital was handled with the utmost professionalism and care and she went above any measure I could have expected. Sadly, after the hospital visit, it was recommended he not live alone anymore and he moved out of state. It pained me to have to end the relationship with our Angel and the company, but I'm grateful for the time we had with them. I want to thank the whole Visiting Angels team who really went above and beyond helping my grandma. Kathi, the business manager, would always keep me informed if my grandma was having a bad day or worked with me or my mom to keep the few key Angels on her schedule as much as possible. It was acknowledged and greatly appreciated. Christine was also such a big help on many occasions when she was on call on the weekends, keeping me updated and helping out with whatever issue that would arise. I also spoke to Cheryl and Veronica many times, and they both were very helpful with scheduling or answering any questions that I had. Everyone I spoke to always had my grandma's best interests at heart and would do whatever they could to keep her happy and as comfortable as possible in her home. This high level of care definitely put my mom's and my minds at ease and made our lives a little less stressful, knowing that help was only a phone call away. I also want to thank all of our caregivers from the bottom of my heart. They basically adopted her as their own grandmother and really gave her a sense of family, especially when we were unable to visit her during this pandemic.
