Horrible experience. Took months for "advocate" to accomplish basic tasks such as finding a PCP and…read morerheumatologist for mom. I constantly had to remind them of their own goals. Made promises they didn't keep. Far more expensive that more dedicated companies. Would strongly advise avoiding.

First let me say that I did not use this company. I entered into a protracted interview process…read moreasking many times the cost but Emma insisted on a phone conversation which did occur. They are atrociously expensive. And after clearly stating what I needed, they said that they wanted a large retainer and lawyer-like hourly rate. Far different than any of their competitors. I was hard sell by a LICSW who should work for an unethical real estate company. She wanted to be my healthcare advocate, would not make suggestions on post surgical care but clearly wanted a long term relationship. I wanted specific help with forms since I am having a total spine reconstruction which means six surgeries. I wanted to get on waiting lists for housing that would fit my needs post surgery and long term. Not CCRC with $1 million buy-in. I had made my needs explicitly clear in an email yet the hard sell went on anyway. I told Emma, that I was not an annuity. I had specific goals I needed to achieve. I was ticked off because this call was unnecessary. I consider this firm unethical compared to others that I have spoken with. In the end, Emma decided they prefer to place people in CCRC expensive housing. CCRC is the big buy in and monthly fee - it is not what I need or want. There are others out there who can do a better job for you. I have never experienced such a heavy sell from people who are in this type of so-called healthcare. What makes me angry the most is that I am in the midst of reconstructive surgery. I made time for this call which seemed unnecessary but I did it in excruciating pain despite a concise and clear email explaining my needs but I got the hard sell for the annuity services anyway. Shame on this company. I may report it to the BBB.
