Professional, reliable, and very thorough!…read more My elderly grandparents have been using Minute Women house cleaning services for the past 8 years, and they could not be more satisfied with their work. It is extremely easy to set up an appointment, and they are usually there the same day or the next day. Once you find a cleaner you really like, they will send the same one back every time (ours is Tina). They are also flexible with whether or not you want to be home for the visit. Or you can just hide a key somewhere for them to find. Like the other reviewers said, when you get home, everything is in its place, and there is no worry that something may be missing. They will do any type of deep cleaning that you need including interior windows, inside and outside of cabinets and appliances, vacuum, mop dust, ceiling fans, emptying the trash, making the bed and bathrooms of course. This is especially helpful for homes that are too large for one person to clean alone. My grandparents really just use them for the deep cleaning about every 2 weeks. My grandparents say it takes about 3 hours for them to clean their 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house, about 2500 square feet. But the best part is that they can also rotate rooms, so for the rooms that are rarely used, like guest rooms and bathrooms, you can opt to have them cleaned every other visit. Be sure to call when they are not on lunch, or else it might be difficult to reach someone immediately. We highly recommend this service!

At the time, my aunt was undergoing chemotherapy for a recent cancer diagnosis and was receiving in-home support from another care management company in the same market. Unfortunately, that provider was clearly taking advantage of the situation--the billing was excessive and resembled a law firm's itemized invoices. As a result, I immediately began searching for an alternative home care provider. From my very first interaction with Assisting Hands, the experience was outstanding. Every member of the team went above and beyond, providing professionalism, compassion, and genuine care during an incredibly difficult period for our family. We used Assisting Hands for several months, and my aunt truly loved every caregiver who visited her. Sadly, my aunt ultimately lost her battle with cancer. However, because of the exceptional care provided by Assisting Hands, we were able to bring her home for her final days, which meant everything to our family. The Director of Development even came out on a Friday night to personally coordinate with the hospice nurse from Good Shepherd Hospice and review the care plan. That level of dedication is rare. Assisting Hands treated us as far more than clients--we felt like family. Their compassion, concern, and humanity made an extraordinarily painful time more manageable. I cannot say enough about how much their care meant to us, and I would recommend Assisting Hands without hesitation to anyone in need of high-quality home care. Sincerely, Joe Garvin

I am beyond impressed with the care, coordination, prompt follow up and communication amongst all the staff at AH thus far. Elayna who is the director of client care responds to my emails 24/7 and constantly updates me and keeps me in the loop so I am informed at all times. She is professional, diligent and extremely efficient. Esther and Cindy are also very special people. On the first day of hire, Ester was accompanied by Cindy for few hours to make sure she was set up for success during her new assignment. This speaks to the caliber of care and expectations of AH. Prior to coming to the condo, Cindy met my client at the rehab to review nursing education and care plans so the discharge would be smooth and successful. This really speaks to the philosophy of AH making sure that the companions are comfortable, competent and safe during assignments and not just sending them in blind. Both Cindy and Ester connected with him immediately and treated him with the utmost respect and kindness. I can't recommend Assisting Hands enough, and look forward to continue to work with them in the future

If you have Medicare, be aware that a Care Dimensions administrator must certify that your loved one is in the final stages of life before they can be admitted to the hospice facility, in order for Medicare to cover all costs. Otherwise, you'll pay out of pocket -- and that could be around $700/day to stay at this facility. If the patient has Medicare coverage, and is not in absolute final stages of life, they get the home hospice version of treatment. Which is not good. My husband suffered under their "care" during home hospice. One nurse told me after witnessing that he was throwing up all his meds and that included painkillers, nausea medications, and anti-anxiety medicine, that he couldn't be hospitalized because he wasn't "actively dying" yet. When he was gasping for breath and in pain, the nurse told him the medicine would kick in, in an hour and to RELAX. Do not risk that your loved one's last hours will be spent in agony because of this company's incompetence and lack of respect for human suffering. Have to rate in order to post, otherwise would give a 0-star rating.

Privatus sent about 8 different people over the course of about two weeks. Some were helpful. Some were definitely not. The hospital staff and my mother reported that Ernest was asleep at various times one night. We were shocked to learn this and, of course, promptly cancelled all future services from them. To make matters worse, they charged us $432 for the following night when nobody worked for us, saying that we didn't cancel with enough notice. Despite sending me bills for prior charges, they did not send me a bill last month for this last $432 charge. I only found out that they charged me for this when I recently asked them about my credit card charges. These nurses and aides are genuinely kind people working above and beyond in a hellishly penny-pinching for-profit nursing home that has clearly experienced years of top-down CEO neglect. They do this as the physical plant literally falls apart around them (see photos). If it were not for these caring people, I doubt I would have survived my stay. Nurse Helga is wonderful. On Friday, staff from the cafeteria brought me the meal plan for the week. It consisted of meat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I explained I was vegetarian and asked for the relevant meal plan. Staff had never heard of such a thing. They sent me a salad (see photo). It consisted of half a tomato, some lettuce leaves, and onion. I was supposed to be eating plenty of calories and healing after surgery, but this "meal" was under 100 calories - a starvation diet. I showed Helga about catastrophically non-nutritive meal. Out of the goodness of her heart, she bought me a vegetarian bowl at Qdoba. It was delicious. I was deeply touched by this act of extreme kindness. I asked to pay her back, and she wouldn't take my money. Helga is an angel on earth. Incredibly, once Helga was off for the weekend, I had to continue to beg staff for a non-starvation diet. They continued to send me food that amounted to under 600 calories per day. I called Robby, the dietician, but he was off for the weekend. I was hungry and dizzy. A kind nurse got me a bargain-basement Ensure knock-off, but it was lukewarm and tasted bad, so I threw it up. On Saturday, I called friends to let them know I was starving. On Sunday, my friend Julianne came with hummus and pita. On Monday, my friend Dennis came with food that my friend Amy bought. On Monday, when staff started bringing actual vegetarian food (bargain-basement Cheerios, the egg glop that comes frozen in large containers), it was so disgusting and full of chemicals that I threw it up, every time. This meant that I kept losing my medication. (I'm on over a dozen meds a day due to severe neurological and autoimmune disease.) I brought the electolytes my neurologist told me to take three times a day for orthostatic intolerance, but I was never able to get staff to bring me a container to mix them up in, so I became progressively dizzier and more dehydrated throughout my stay. Also: 1) I was told to call Jen, the discharge planner, Wednesday, 3/4 at 10:00 am. I did so. I let staff know that my ride was coming at 2 pm. Four hours later, my ride came, and Jen had still not returned my call. Staff was surprised that she never got back to me. Today, Friday, 3/6, I called her again, because I don't know if I'm still supposed to be taking antibiotics that they gave me at CareOne. Jen has never returned my calls, and I have received no discharge planning. Does she still work there? 2) Social work asked if I needed services at home. I told them that I applied for a home health aide through MassAbility in 2024, and that I have not yet received those services, despite being over 90 percent bedbound and 95% housebound due to neurological disability. (MassAbility gave my case to Elara Caring. Elara Caring has not provided the home health aide that they are required to send me.) Social work said they would try to get me services at home. I never heard back from social work. I called them today, 3/6, to ask what services they found. I still haven't heard back, and I have received no services, including the home help and the post-surgery nursing care I requested while at Care One. 3) The call alarm at the nurse's station typically rings for 35 minutes or longer. It turns off for a couple minutes... then starts back up. My neurological disease comes with severe sensory limitations. I was in the room next to the nurse's desk, with its constant beeping, for my entire stay. I had a severe migraine every day. This is not the nurses' fault. It's the fault of CareOne for understaffing to the point where the call alarm barely ever stops. 4) There was no phone reception in Rm 125P where I stayed. When I needed to beg friends for food or ask my surgeon what to do about the fact that I couldn't stop throwing up, I had to walk far to use the phone. Given that I wasn't allowed to treat my orthostatic intolerance in keeping with my neurologist's directions, this was dangerous. 5) My room was extremely bright even in the middle of the night. This is because there was a huge chandelier outside my window that was kept on all night. The meager shade did almost nothing to block the light. This added to my constant exhaustion and migraine. 6) The issues documented in the photos (exposed wires, insufficient calories, patients being forced to hop in and out of bed to manage their own light soon after abdominal surgery) are dangerous. DO NOT SEND A LOVED ONE HERE.
