The jacket tag plainly stated "machine wash only" but was dry cleaned, causing major shrinkage. Alisha declined to take any responsibility and created an awful customer service experience and poor professionalism. I will return to FIVE STAR CLEANERS which I now regret ever leaving. read more

As with most things in life, I'm neurotic and eccentric. I possess an encyclopedic knowledge of Gary Numan's discography. I eat Jell-O with a knife and fork. I sleep on a mattress so old that it bears a permanent indentation of my body*. I'm equally picky and neurotic about clothes, especially my dress shirts, which I wear year round. I like my shirts starched extra stiff. Alas, most dry cleaners either ignore my request or simply lack enough starch (I assume buckets full) to achieve the desired result. The Comet Cleaners in Helotes is a rare exception; without fail, my shirts come back as hard as sheetrock. I've tried other dry cleaning services, including several Comet franchises, but this location is the only one worthy of continued patronage. The staff honor my requests and I receive my garments back the next day. The women at the counter are friendly, ingratiating, and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. If you live near Helotes, then I recommend this location without hesitation. *Whenever someone comments on my mattress, I reply, "Shh...You'll wake up The Invisible Man." I'm being facetious, of course. The truth is that the mummified corpse of Norman Bates' mother left the permanent indentation. She now resides in the fruit cellar. read more

Fair price for dry cleaning two sport coats. Delivered when they said they would be ready. Also took in one pair of pants to be hemmed. This is done by a third party and takes about a week and half to get back. You MUST know the measurements you want them hemmed to (inseam). They do not measure on site or have a tape measure for you to use. read more

Sent a bed skirt to be cleaned thru their delivery service. It was in perfectly good condition when they got it and it was returned in terrible condition and I won't be able to fix the damage they did to the fabric. This is the second thing they have damaged. I won't be sending anymore fine fabric items to them... When the manager of the delivery side of Comet called me back, she did not offer an apology. This little dry cleaners is a spot I will be bringing my clothes too. They provide the best service and customer service as well. Our first time and Evelyn was nice enough to explain how everything works, the pricing, the night drop off and even told us about the military discount they provide. We were hesitating leaving our clothes at first but after her warm welcome we felt we could trust this place. We dropped off our clothes and they were ready the next day. Satisfied with how well they do their job and how every time after that day that we have gone back every single person has such a friendly attitude that it makes you want to come back. Thanks a lot for making me feel stupid I had to use a service to make a phone call and not even taking it. AMAZING SERVICE! I dropped off a couple items on Thursday morning for same day service because I was leaving town Friday morning. For some reason, one of my blouses didn't make it back that day. Since they didn't have delivery availability that morning, Comet cleaners sent an individual employee to bring me my shirt, offering to deliver that night, no matter the time, but i told them the next morning was fine and they got it there before I had to leave! My experience could have easily gone very bad but they turned it around and went way above and beyond! Truly good management, great business practice, wonderful service! read more

I instantly felt welcomed and that I wanted to be loyal to this local dry cleaners. * High tech. My previous cleaners did everything by hand as far as the check in paper work. Comet cleaners does everything electronically. * Deals. They explained all the various ways to save money. I love to save money. (I'll put some discounts in the tips section.) At pick up: * Still the same great service * They were open on NYE * But then I get hit with the final price. They did a great job on our clothing but the price was almost triple than what I am use to paying in this city. Conclusion. This is a great service, quality, high-tech cleaners. After having a terrible experience at the Comet on Bandera and Guilbeau, I was fortunate to find the Comet on Bandera in Helotes!!! I had been going to that Comet on Bandera and Guilbeau for many years when all of a sudden they couldn't get my husbands shirts heavy starched . They had been doing them with heavy starch for years, then suddenly they looked like a limp dish rag. I asked what was the problem, they said( very rudely) that they couldn't get them any better then that. I even went home and brought them a shirt I had picked up the week before from them that was starched very stiff. Again I was told that they couldn't get them that stiff even after looking at the shirt. They were very rude, and unwilling to admit they had made a mistake. Then I hit the jackpot and found Mary, Olivia and all the other wonderful ladies that work at the Comet on Bandera and Helotes. I went to explain to Mary what had happened with the shirts"suddenly" not being able to be made stiff. She explained the other store had probably put the wrong bag, and all the starch was washed out and that the shirts will eventually be starched stiff again after a few washing, the starch will be built up like before. She was right, my shirts are stiff again, she knew the problem, explained it and solved it, not like the other store being rude. I highly recommend this Comet, the ladies are always, friendly, cheerful and they do a WONDERFUL job with my cleaning. You will be very pleased with this store!!!!! read more

This Comet Cleaners is very close to my house and is my dry cleaner of choice. They have a 24-hour drop off chute, and if you request, they will even give you a durable laundry bag complete with a tag that has all of your information printed on it so they know exactly what to do with your laundry if you drop it off after-hours. My clothes have come back in excellent condition and on time (about a 48 hour turnaround). The employees are very nice, even when they are swamped with customers. I am glad to use Comet for all of my dry cleaning needs. read more

Comet Cleaners damaged my shirt and they refused to pay a claim because the shirt was over 5 years old and had been cleaned 51 times. The fact is that the shirt was a high quality garment and was perfectly fine. It was clear that someone poked a hole in the garment due to poor handling. Comet cleaners will lose my $75-$100 in dry cleaning services each month. If the cleaners will not take responsibility for caring for my garments when I drop them off what is the point? read more

We brought in a King sized quilt, 2 king sized square pillow shams & 2 king sized rectangular pillow shams. When we went to pick them up on Saturday the 16th of September, each of the pillow shams was priced differently yet each set of 2 were exactly the same. Prices were $15.09, $10.77, $7.53, $4.29 for a total for the shams of $37.68. The king size quilt was priced at $33.40. When my husband asked the red headed women at the register why each were priced differently when each set of 2 were exactly the same she told us that we would have to come back on Monday and speak to the manager. They couldn't do anything about it. All items were cleaned and covered well. Pricing ridiculous for pillow shams. Customer Service poor when employees can't explain discrepancies in pricing and resolve issue. Unable to go in on Monday to speak to the Manager but will call. read more

I decided to try them out after I found a discount coupon for shirts on line. I also read the great reviews on Yelp. After giving the attendant the coupon and returning to pick up my shirts a few days later. I discovered that the attendant had failed to use the coupon when calculating the bill. When I asked the lady on duty to correct this, I was informed that nothing could be done. The manager was unavailable and I was told that they have a firm policy that no coupons can be added after the job is completed.. The original coupon was taken by the attendant and I was stuck with a full price ticket which was $17 more than I had bargained for. They pay attention when I alert them to garments that require special attention (such as mother of pearl buttons). Their discount for military/law enforcement is excellent. (Helotes , TX Location) I received my shirt with a hole in it. They had apparently pressed the shirt over a button and caused it to get damaged. My shirt was brand new, had only took it there once before to get cleaned. My shirt is a Hugo Boss, which I paid $126 for. When I came in to let them know, the manager, Mary, was trying to tell me that they could probably put a patch on it. I informed her that I did not want it patched, I wanted it replaced. I showed her, where the button had obviously made a hole, but she complained that I had wore it already. I told her that I was running late for work, so I just put a windbreaker over it. She began to argue with me in front of her two employees. I tried explaining to her that I do business with them all of the time, and have done business with them for years. I also told her that I have at least 15-20 Hugo Boss dress shirts, so I wasn't trying to scam her. If I had made the hole myself, I would have just tossed the shirt. She kept going back and forth, which I kept trying to tell her that I was not going to argue with her. I was in my Air Force uniform and am a 33 year veteran, I did not want to make a scene, but she continued to try to argue with me that they were not going to replace my shirt. She finally told me that it would ultimately be up to the owner, she was hesitant to file the claim, but she said she would. She kept my shirt, but didn't even give me a receipt for it, just told me that she would be in touch with me. I have yet to hear anything back from them, and this was several weeks ago. I will no longer do business with Comet Cleaners, they aren't the only cleaners in town and I don't want to do business with a place that has such an unprofessional manager setting a poor example for her subordinates.
