Space fries are indeed very spicy. Yum.

Excellent chicken sandwiches. I got the original. Friend got the Nashville. Both were good. The space fries are also excellent but very spicy. Just be warned.

Chicken is always hot and delicious, fries are crispy, great selection of Stubborn Sodas which is a fun change, best ice in the world, and fun ambiance.

Chicken, my favorite! Comet Chicken is hard to spot when driving by, but once you spot it you're on your way. Fast and easy service where you order at the front and they bring it out to your table. The staff were all courteous, kind and helpful. The interior is gorgeous and very well spaced out and designed. Table, booth, high top and patio seating, yeah, they have it all. We opted for the tender meals and weren't wowed, but it's good food. The sauces are odd in flavor and the coleslaw could have tasted better, but the chicken and fries were on point. If I'm ever back I think I'd try one of the sandwiches or tasty looking bowls.

Stopped at Comet Chicken for a late lunch and weren't disappointed. Their menu is limited but it does the job well. We ordered the 4 piece, which comes with fries and two sauces and is enough for two people to share. The sodas are off brand, but we thought the ginger ale and the cream soda were really good. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. We sat outside enjoying the nice weather. Definitely recommend.

I've now ordered chicken from Comet Chicken twice - once for delivery, once for takeout, and I am in love (as you can tell by the different angles of the same sandwich, just so you can appreciate each side of goodness)! I walked in most recently in the middle of the week, and strolled right up to the counter. A bubbly young woman bounced up from the kitchen and asked what we were looking for, suggesting the Nashville hot if we liked spice. Yes, yes, I do like spice! I ordered the Nashville hot sandwich, opting out of the combo she offered, since I knew I'd be more than full after seeing the size of another sandwich heading out the door. When I unwrapped this massive beauty, I knew I was in for some delicious pain. The crust of the chicken glistened with fiery sauce, the fluffy bun soaked up the drippings from the fresh slaw and piping hot oil from frying the chicken. The first bite was perfect - sweet crisp followed by a wave of spicy heat, which was tempered by the creamy slaw. I devoured the entire thing and wasn't mad about it. Since it's walking distance from work now, I foresee a few very unhealthy, but oh-so-delicious, options to many upcoming meals!

A little preparation on our end helped ensure everything went smoothly. Since The Regional is a farm-to-table restaurant, many items need to be prepared or prepped in advance, so I was grateful to collect everyone's orders earlier in the day. That gave the kitchen time to prepare and made it easier to get everything cooking once we arrived. We were seated off to the side of the bar in a small private area. The restaurant was busy, but not overwhelmingly so. Once we were settled, our server came over, introduced himself, and took our drink and food orders, making sure to associate each dish with the correct diner. After everything was entered, our drinks and food arrived surprisingly quickly. All of the food and drinks were good, but the service was even better. A big thank-you to the manager and our server for accommodating our team and helping make such a large dinner feel seamless.

Our server was Lillian who is not only pleasant but well versed in the menu - offering suggestions and explanation on dishes or pairings. The atmosphere is homey with vintage style chairs, and the tables are set close but the room doesn't feel cramped We loved the Regional salad and the lamb merguez meatballs. As my main dish, I ordered the Halibut ceviche which is prepared with avocado, a detail that I overlooked and unfortunately I'm allergic to avocados. When the dish was placed in front of me, I was surprised and quickly signaled Lillian. She was concerned that I may have tasted the dish and offered medical attention (Benadryl) and promptly removed the dish. She encouraged me to order another main dish, but I opted for another lamb merguez meatballs which is served with warm bread. At the end of dinner, I was surprised that the halibut ceviche was taken off my bill - unexpected but appreciative gesture. 5 Stars - Hallmark of customer service at the Regional!

I came here with a partner en route to Laramie WY. We each ordered a sandwich and split their Shishito Peppers and Baba Ganoush. All of that and their mocktails were delicious. Service is also top notch. We chose to sit upstairs, which felt cozy. I love all the décor and their whole vibe in general. I want to come back to try everything else on their menu - from drinks and tapas to desserts. I have my eye on their Persian Love Cake and Tres Leches Cake, which I wish I had ordered to-go. Shop their goods and bakery section. It also seems like a great place to work remotely. Obsessed!

As we were wandering northward someone started suggested G&B. My reaction was absolutely not, why don't we go to Persimmon instead? "Oh, I've heard good things - where is it?" There. "Where?" Right there. "I don't see it." That door directly across the street from us! Persimmon is quite inconspicuous from the street, but is one of Fort Collins' hidden in plain sight gems. That proved to be a good thing on a day where thousands of people pretty much had the same thought of needing something to warm up - while there were throngs at other places we passed by Persimmon was nearly empty. Our group of 6 easily found a comfy spot for our group. It turns out the we beat the lunch rush - it started to get quite busy once noon rolled around. After perusing the menu for warm drinks a few decided they were hungry so food was ordered as well. I had a matcha latte, unsweetened, and it was a perfect choice to warm up after being out in the wind and bluster that morning. They use a ceremonial grade matcha, which I found to be smooth and really not bitter. I also shared a pastrami sandwich with one of my friends - they were nice enough to bring out the sandwich halves on two plates. While not a New York deli kind of sandwich, it was good - quality ingredients on focaccia. They source their pastrami from a specialty butcher in Denver, though I've forgotten their name. Sandwiches are served with kettle chips that are light, crispy, and not too oily. In a previous visit I had their tuna sandwich and sampled some appetizers. The tuna sandwich was among the best I have ever had - I can't really put my finger on why but I do remember that my first bite wowed me. I didn't see the meze sampler on the menu this time, but as I recall the beet hummus was a standout. I don't lunch out in Old Town very often, but Persimmon is always such a pleasure. I need to make a point of coming more often.

2.5, edging down to 2 stars…read more Not the best food experience I've ever had. They're rated really high -- actually one of the highest-rated restaurants in Fort Collins -- and from a food perspective I don't really understand why. Sliders with sweet potato fries -- fine, nothing extraordinary. Potato éclairs -- . It was really just mashed potatoes with some topping on it. I honestly didn't even finish it. Mountain oysters -- huge letdown. They came out so overcooked they were basically crunchier than potato chips, with the batter crumbling off. I've never had them before, so I didn't get a good representation of how they're supposed to be -- these were just super-cooked batter. On the space: we ended up sitting in three different spots to eat. We went outside by the street first -- super loud, and people were smoking, so we headed back in. The open spot inside was right under the AC and about forty degrees, so we moved to the back area. The back was fine -- covered -- but pretty dirty, with mop buckets and clutter sitting around. The one drink I had was a good value since we were there at happy hour -- some kind of fruity whiskey drink. It was fine, but nothing I'd seek out again. I hate to give such a friendly place a bad review. It'd be a really great spot if you're a college student who wants some cheap bites and a drink -- but honestly it's just bar food, and the ceiling is probably a 4 on a really good day. I wouldn't get excited to head down there, and parking is a bit of a hassle too. Would recommend only if you're after very cheap eats in that area -- check them out for happy hour. But I would not return.

We were greeted warmly, seated quickly, and our server was incredibly friendly and helpful. The meal was fantastic. Everything tasted fresh and was prepared with care. Eh. Over recent years, I've had very hit and miss experiences at the downtown Austin's. Yesterday…read morewas another disappointing miss. We stopped in for a late lunch, arriving around 2. We started with a beer for my husband and a mocktail for me. The mocktail (blueberry lemonade) was simply not worth the $7 price tag. Mostly ice - filled to the literal rim of the glass. So full when I took one of my first sips, ice fell to the floor. There was just a splash of ginger beer; it could've used more but, alas, no room with all that ice! When I mentioned it to the server, she explained that's how they make them. She offered to bring me another, but it seemed clear she meant I'd be paying for it. No thank you. Next, my food. I tried the salmon burger (new to the menu, I'm told) which is actually a salmon croquette on a bun with some lettuce and vinaigrette. It's HUGE and not in a good way. The first few bites were okay, and I thought the heavily breaded effect was due to biting into the edge. As I continued eating, though, most bites felt like a mouthful of bread. I can only hope there was minced salmon in it, but the ratio was so heavy on breadcrumbs that I couldn't detect it. Not the slightest hint of pink on the inside either. I ate about 1/2, my hungry hub finished it. The flaws of the salmon burger didn't seem worth pointing out to the server after the response I got with the drink. Later, as we walked around downtown, I felt like I had a lead sandwich in my stomach. My husband had a better experience than I. His bison burger came out great. No complaints. Unfortunately for me, I think I'll just have to order very specific things when coming here now. Austin's has sentimental value for me - it's the first place we dined after moving here 27 years ago. Because of that, I keep giving them second chances after they fall short. I just wish they'd return to the days of "you can't go wrong", everything is awesome.
