This is a go-to for us as a special date night between my wife and I. We really enjoy the brunch. The menu shifts out depending on the season, which is fun. Our favorite brunch item has been a toss between the french toast and the bone marrow burger. Dinner is delicious as well. We haven't had a chance to try the pastries yet but we always see them and they look great. On the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. The food at this place is great. Just be aware that if you make a reservation, they have a 12 hr. cancellation policy. If you try and cancel after that 12 hrs. starts, you can't. And they don't have a phone number, so you can't call them to let them know so they can fill that reservation. A gorgeous Friday in Fort Collins - I ambled up to little for brunch served until 1. Hoping I'd find my fave - hard to find cassoulet. They didn't have it but did have a Duck Hash. I thought there'd be potatoes in there but I'm so glad there wasn't. There were loads of fresh local veg (kale, corn, grape tomatoes, carrots, zucchini), topped with 2 sunny side up eggs, hollandaise sauce & duck confit. This meal was a beautiful orchestra of flavor and texture - one of the best meals I've ever had. Sitting on the patio, it was shaded and breezy and comfortable with wood tables and a cushion seat. My iced tea had the faintest hint of violet. The water glasses were so unique. My service was impeccable. I didn't catch her name but she was so helpful. We were in town for Tour de Corgi and stopped here for breakfast before heading back to Denver and wow...this might be one of the best breakfast spots I've ever been to. We sat on the patio, and even though it was a little chilly, it actually made the experience even better - when my food came out, it was so warm and comforting, it felt like the perfect match for the cool morning. I ordered the Duck Hash and my fiancé got the Little Breakfast. Both were incredible, but the Duck Hash stole the show. It was warm, flavorful, and perfectly balanced - rich but not heavy. The vegetables were cooked just right, the broth was delicious, and the duck literally fell off the bone. My fiancé's dish was equally great, with perfectly cooked bacon and flavorful greens. Our server was wonderful, and everything came out quickly. We're not sure when we'll be back in Fort Collins, but when we do, we're definitely coming here again, the bone marrow burger is next on our list (our server said it's her favorite!). We live nearby and have wanted to try this restaurant for a few months now so we decided to stop in for breakfast. There were about 3 tables total with guests in the place and we were asked if we had made a reservation. It sounded a bit strange to me that a not busy at all restaurant on a Saturday morning at 10am would need one, but decided to stay anyway. It took a bit more time than I thought it should for them to "set up a table" when so many were open and already set. The menu is incredibly small and does not allow for substitutions, which to me seems quite pretentious, but again just figured okay let's try it. The waitress was not friendly. My fiancee ordered drip coffee and she told us that it is an acquired taste so she would bring him a sample first, which I appreciated, but why do you only serve one type of drip coffee that is "co-fermented"?! My fiancee said it was fine but I was not a fan of it. I ordered the chilaquiles and he ordered the churro french toast. He asked for syrup which the waitress did not bring and then came back to ask if he realized he didn't need it after all. Again just pretentious. The french toast had a ton of sugar on it but the bread was dry, which is what the syrup was needed for. The chilaquiles said they have barbacoa and it tasted like it was whipped which was not pleasant on the palate, and surprisingly was lacking spice and flavor. Overall it was not a good experience and we will not be going back. I'm not sure how they have so many 5 star reviews. It seems like people just like the pompousness of the location and curated menu. We've had our eye on Little on Mountain since we moved here last spring, and we finally made it for our anniversary last night. On balance, it was a lovely evening -- creative cocktails, excellent service, a relaxed vibe, and some genuinely beautiful food. We'll be back, with a few hopes for the future. The highlights were real: a gorgeous grilled baguette with salt-dusted butter, a beet salad over curry yogurt with a quinoa-seed crumble, and a second salad with marcona almonds, delicata squash and mimolette that was flat-out excellent. Dessert was delicious, the cocktails were inventive and well-made, and our server kept the whole evening feeling easy and attentive. A couple of things worth knowing. We booked the Chef's Counter expecting a front-row seat to the kitchen -- what we got was a front-row seat to the dishwashing station. Fascinating in its own way, but not quite what we had in mind. More importantly for some diners: we're vegetarian, and the single vegetarian entree among nine options -- Foco Vegetables -- felt like an afterthought. What arrived was a generous heap of beets (we'd already had plenty of beets), a few scraps of what seemed like prep trimmings from other dishes, and so much chèvre that the promised harissa was essentially invisible. After a meal that had been so carefully executed, it was a jarring contrast. When we shared this with our server, he offered to remove it from the bill, which was kind. What we were hoping for was a little more genuine engagement with the feedback -- a sense that it actually landed. The evening ended with an unfamiliar staff member arriving with the check and letting us know, after two hours, that they needed the table. Not the sendoff we were hoping for after an anniversary dinner. Little on Mountain makes some excellent food. We'd love to see that talent turned toward some vegetarian fare that feels thoughtfully composed rather than assembled. My wife and I went last night and were expecting it to be good, as we had been once before a few years ago. It wasn't good, it was phenomenal far exceeding our expectations!!! We had a delicious Italian red wine which was well balanced and while not cheap, was a great value considering how excellent it was! I ordered the ribeye and wife got the tagliatelle. The steak had a truly incredible flavor-with the perfect seasoning and clearly an excellent quality of meat. One of the best I've ever had, better than Guard and Grace in Denver, at least for me! The pasta was delicious as well with really no room for improvement. The chocolate dessert was also delicious! Oh and we had the peach burrata as a starter-which was wonderful! This was the third time I've been back to Little, and it is as fabulous as ever! I met my parental unit for a spontaneous brunch and decided to give them the experience that Little is. We were greeted at the door by the wonderful Sarah, and taken to a family-style table on the heated enclosed patio (thankful for the heat on the chilly day). Sarah got our coffee orders immediately and gave us a few minutes to look over the brunch menu. My dad went for the pancakes with wild blueberry preserves, butter and maple syrup, and a side of their housemade sausage. My mom decided on the duck confit biscuits and gravy, and I got the bone marrow burger. Everyone was in heavenly gluttony with their dishes. The pancakes were exceptionally fluffy and flavorful with a very generous portion size, the biscuits were wonderfully moist thanks the the addition of duck confit with perfectly seasoned gravy, and my burger was smothered in rich cheese, caramelized onions and a healthy dose of mayonnaise. The grease dripped down my hands, and it was beyond worth the caloric intake! Sarah was exceedingly friendly and on top of her game, making sure our coffee cups and waters remained filled, and we enjoyed some very pleasant conversation with her. It's obvious she likes her job (she even told us she did, but it was apparent before) and I'm glad we happened in on a day where she was on shift. Dinner prices look a little heftier than brunch, but after having three brunches here, I'll definitely be splurging to try out their evening menu. Wow! Moving from Chicago (a goody paradise) to Colorado has been a change in expectations for "good" food. Little good and atmosphere reminded me of many restaurants in Chicago. It is tucked away in a cute neighborhood area near downtown. Sit at the bar, indoor patio or outside patio - whatever you select you will not regret coming here for dinner. The food is full of flavor and combinations that will keep you coming back for more. The staff is extremely friendly and observant. For example, we ran out of toast points for the Burrata appetizer. A kitchen staff member (it our server) took noticed and brought us more without us asking. Highlights were the Burrata as it has a spicy pepper compote on top and the toast points were c Make to perfection, little crunch on the outside and soft and chewy inside. The Porkribs portion could have been split between my husband and I, it was large but extremely flavorful and fell right off thee bone. The beets were refreshing and laid over and interesting sauce that was a mustard yellow but tasted a bit like tarragon. Mussels were cooked well but the coconut broth was a bit too spicy for me. The coconut cake dessert was not overly sweet which was refreshing but the text was a bit unusual. I have texture issues so, it wasn't for me. We have come to Little on Mountain a number of times and have always loved it. The service team is small and the vibe is slow. The intent is to linger through your meal and enjoy the company, so we would warn anyone looking for a fast meal that this probably isn't your spot. The service is entertaining and informative, but as we said it's relaxed, so there won't be someone at your table every five minutes - just flag them down if you need something, they are happy to help. The food is always delicious. They have rotating menus that focus on food that is in season. Food is fresh, unique and very well prepared. The seasonal menus do tend to repeat, so there isn't a lot of variety within the same seasonal menu each year, but it's always excellent. Cocktails are fun and tasty and the wine menu has a good selection so you should be able to find something to suit your tastes. We love it and would highly recommend it. read more

After an amazing hike in Estes Park, we had such a delicious dinner at Little! Sitting at the bar with our friends was a great experience! Watching the chefs at work, enjoying their art of creating salads and desserts was a lot of fun! Our waiter, Maddog was outstanding! She was attentive and caring with our gluten free requests. The chef was so accommodating! We were so grateful for our wonderful and exceptional dining experience! We ate filet mignon, pork, lamb and local veggies. This is a really cute place! The majority of the dishes we got were tasty, just short of excellent. The bread with chicken liver toast was sadly soft? It just needed to be toasted, maybe with some olive oil and acidic toppings. The orecchiette pasta perhaps had a touch too many bread crumbs? I'm not a big fan of lamb, but I will say the rack of lamb was the most balanced and delicious entree of the night. The lamb wasn't gamey, had great flavor and was cooked properly. Was going to make this a 3 star review, but our waiter really came through for us when we reeeeally didn't like our main recently (it was inedible to us but they made it right). Okay so here's the review: Our first experience here 2 years ago was wonderful. This place tries very hard (and succeeded) to match the ambience, food, and wine of your excellent restaurants in your more metropolitan areas. Unfortunately the execution of everything (except the wine!) has dropped off lately. The biggest problem is the menu. It hardly changes in a meaningful way and is so particular that you may only have one main/appetizer that you find interesting. Which is great for one visit, but do you really want to get the pork chop and greens every time?? We have come back several times chasing that original high only to see the same stuff we didn't really care for still on the menu, and 1-2 new things that just don't quite come together, with the same ingredients we didn't want before. They take big swings but almost always in one direction, if that makes sense. Overall it's a great place for people who like duck and clams, not so great for people who don't. And it's the only place in town where you can feel like you're at a buzzy cozy spot in the big city. read more

Five out of five stars is really not enough. We went at 9:50ish AM on a Sunday and it was honestly perfect timing. It was not too busy but as we were there a line formed so use that as a reference. You can also make reservations online if you are worried about the wait! Plenty of parking in the steer at that time too :) We walked in and were seated right away on the patio- a perfect space to enjoy a wonderful day. The staff were ON IT!! Super friendly and exceptionally efficient. They filled our water three times without us ever having to ask. The aesthetic is also very cute. Love the cutlery and the plates and drink ware! My boyfriend and I each ordered an espresso shot and he ordered the old fashioned and I got the blood orange margarita. He said the old fashioned was exceptional and the margarita was super flavorful! The espresso had a very nice fruit forward flavor. For breakfast, I ordered the crab Benedict. Let me forward this by saying I have historically not been a fan of crab. However, these crab cakes were truly incredible. The crab was flaky and flavorful and the outside of the crab cake had a golden crispy crust. The hollandaise sauce was so creamy and the eggs were the perfect poach! The dish came with a little side of greens which were also AMAZING. They had a very light dressing and the lightness of the greens cut through the richness of the crab/hollandaise. My boyfriend had the duck chilaquiles. They came with guacamole, red onion, shredded duck meat, and a beautiful, rich, sauce. He let me steal a few bites! I haven't ever had duck before and this was incredible. Super tender shredded duck, layer perfectly on top of crispy tortilla. I think it had eggs over easy on top as well. Just ate a memorably delicious meal at Little. The ginger zero-alcohol drink, mussels in coconut lemongrass broth, salmon over squid ink risotto, and wowwowwow the sorbet with pistachio and chile were all wildly yummy, but it's the dessert in particular I'll be going back for. All of the above were dairy and gluten free so my sensitive stomach is as happy as my tastebuds. Thank you Sarah and Cleo and Ryan and sorbet-maker Stephen. The food and service were fantastic, particularly the mussels. You could tell they use fresh, high quality I ingredients and there were deep, complex flavor profiles. I would not recommend eating at the counter. We made a specific reservation for the "chef's counter" but a large section of the "chef counter" seats are just a few feet across from the dish washing station. You're not watching anyone cook, you are watching them scrape food off of dirty plates and clean dirty dishes. It's loud from lots of dishes clanking and uncomfortably steamy from the dish washer. Just not an appetizing or ideal experience. Still 5 stars, as next time we will just reserve a regular table. read more

Terrible experience. We spent $60 on a deposit for our reservation and ended up having to wait 40 minutes to be seated. They were nice enough to serve us drinks while we were waiting in the dark corner of their patio, but even those took over 20 minutes to happen. Upon being seated we were offered no explanation or apology regarding the situation. We only ordered a few shared plates but one of them, the shishito peppers, was somehow not even cooked properly. More than half of them were basically raw. I have worked in food before. I have worked many jobs involving customer care. I get being busy or understaffed, but that just means you need to work harder at making sure the people impacted are properly attended to. This stuff usually doesn't bother me, but for a place that charges the prices they do and actually makes you pay a deposit for a reservations, well I guess my standards are higher than theirs. read more

The bathrooms are fresh with washcloths to dry your hands with. Fresh flowers on our table and local coffee. The pastry wasn't too sweet with fresh vanilla cream filling. We visited for a late brunch and we were met with the perfect ambience and an awesome server who after recommending everything we landed on the bone marrow burger and crab benedict. The burger did not disappoint! The bone marrow (+added egg) was perfectly cooked and each bite was more and more delicious. Out of the two crab benedicts, one was slightly fishy but overall the flavor was on point.
