No one ever wants to be stuck in these classes, but what made this one not so bad, is the fact that all the material is current and updated. No 1970's videos!!! Also, the instructor Larry, was funny and made the class interactive. That always makes it go by quicker. Only annoying part, was having that idiot in class who thinks he is the 2nd comedian, and has to make a comment every 2 minutes!! Shut the hell up aleady!!!! read more

Dwight. Amazing instructor, funny class and very very informative. They make it easy and fun to help with getting a handle on your ticket problem. I would recommend this to anyone. read more

Ray was a fantastic instructor and made the 6 hours go by quickly and with laughs. I hope I never have to come back again! Lol!

I thought taking defensive driving would be a drag but this is definitely the best way to take it! Quick and painless. I was able to print my certificate immediately all for 25 bucks! read more

Although, I had to spend 6 hours of my lovely off day on this class, it was worth it. Very informative, Ray made it fun but didn't get most the jokes, I guess I need to get out more. Lol All in all, DRIVE SAFE! read more

It was very entertaining and the instructor Ray is great! Better than sitting in front of a laptop.

Thanks, Larry. Your class is awesome!! It was funny so it kept things interesting. I learned a few new things too! Larry is very good! read more

I took this course online and completed it with 10 days to spare before it was due for the court. I was told that it would arrive within 7 business days. My certificate did not arrive and I was made to purchase expedited shipping for $10 in order to get it on time. Very disappointed in that. read more

Been back here a few times. Few for tickets. This time I came for the insurance discount because the last 2 times were not that bad. The content and videos are updated regularly and also interesting. The instructor makes it fun and digestible too. He's witty and it helps the 6 hours go by with ease. I'd rather go in and take the class versus trying to self pace on line although online is cheaper. Just go one Saturday morning and get it done in one felt swoop. Easier than the online experience in my opinion. The instructor's name was Larry...he's been there for bit. read more

Had a good time doing this defensive driving class, this was the most funny course I have taken and it's sad to say I have taken defensive driving 3 times now. Ray is a pretty funny guy. Def worth the 6 hrs. read more

Comedy Driving - Classroom - Driving Schools Near Me - Houston, Texas

Easy breezy time and friendly staff. Dwight was our instructor and he was very cool and funny which helped the time fly by. This was the perfect option for me because like many of us I waited till the last minute to get it done! I was able to leave the class with everything I needed and go straight to the court house to submit it! One Stop - DONE ! read more

Obviously like most, I needed to take this class to satisfy the city of league city's municipal court requirements and resuscitate my perfect driving record after pleading nolo contendre to driving 35 mph in a 25 mph zone. With a perfect driving record, it might've be appropriate to give the driver a warning, but so goes life. Moving on, this class was not only interesting and often amusing but it was an excellent review of some of the subtleties of driving. Dwight, our instructor, was great. He was knowledgeable of the content, punctual, approachable, and has a keen wit. The six hour day went by more quickly than I would've imagined. I'm very glad I took it and would recommend it to my friends, some of which need Dwight's help. David read more

This review is for the online class. You can't get any better than Comedy Driving for Texas driver training. I went to American Safety Council through an affiliate and got hosed for all of my money (Never sent my certificate and refused to answer the phone!), and after that experience these Comedy Driving has me star struck! You WILL get screwed by any other brand. Use this school. I took the course yesterday and my certificate is in the mail today with a courier service AND a tracking number. I paid a little extra for the expedited service and they are making it happen. I also called yesterday just to confirm some information. Answered right away, answered my questions, and today I'm finished with the course and my certificate is on the way. I didn't have to call, I received e-mail confirmation automatically. Thank you Comedy Driving! Oh, and the course itself is stellar. It had me chuckling and it was silly, but the time went by quickly and I learned A LOT. It has made me a more aware and safer driver. The structure is good, the videos are current (ASC had videos from the 80s and they were bad...), and the information relevant. read more

This is my second time to use comedy driving and my first time at this location. They make it as painless as possible for a really reasonable price. I would much rather do a comedy class than to sit through an online class. read more

Instructor DWIGHT was really good and made the class very fun and loaded with great information on how to be a better driver. I highly recommend this class if you are approved to take a safety course. read more

I took the online course, It took me about 2 days to complete. Like most of you I received so many solicitations in the mail. So many to choose from so I came to Yelp. I read the reviews and decided to roll with Comedy Driving.I'm glad I did. Here's what I like about Comedy Driving. 1. Easy to navigate online course. 2. I needed to call them a few times and was blown away by the extraordinary customer service. The reps were super nice and even checked to be sure I had the correct court. Turns out I had it incorrect. (Kudos for that) 3. It had some funny moments, but it wasn't boring. 4. I actually learned something. 5. There's a test at the end of each chapter, it helps a lot. While it's still fresh in your mind. 6. I picked the regular mail option and received my certificate the next day. Overall, I would choose Comedy Driving again. read more

I didn't want to take another defensive driving course online. Zzzzzz. Hey, maybe if I go in person I'd get it done, meet people and (as advertised) get a laugh or two. I'm glad I went. No fuss, easy check in process and Ray is a great instructor. read more

It was great 6 hours to kill with jokes, surely time flew. Ray was great instructor, he made me laugh while my ticket was being fixed... I wish never to do this again, but if I have to, surely be coming to this place again and I will recommend this place to all my friends... read more

My husband and I decided to attend this class to reduce our auto insurance. This class was fun and full of information. Our instructor was Ray. For the first time ever I passed this class with a 100% test score! Thank you Ray for making "date night" fun. read more

Attended the class. Dwight was an excellent instructor. Learned a lot. Painless way to fulfill defensive driving requirement.

First time here and hopefully my last. Dwight was great and made the day enjoyable while educational as well. Price was reasonable and they had ample breaks too. read more

I took the class yesterday and Jim was my instructor. He is the best there is at the Katy location. The answers are burned in my memory..... Needless to say easy to get a %100... read more

I was really dreading sitting in a six hour class with other criminals and a comedian, but it wasn't bad at all. I hope I don't ever have to come back but in case I do, I would probably do the online course. This was the easiest course I've taken since state penn, I mean penn state. Our course director, Ray, was quite funny. He would talk with us, put on a video and then come back and talk to us about the video. The statistics of drivers in Houston is astounding. Harris County has the highest alcohol and road rage violations in the nation. I learned a lot from this course that I wasn't expecting. Between lunch and two fifteen minute breaks, the time went by fast. If there is one vital component I have taken from this course, is that when I am behind the wheel of my car this is my job. My job is to get me and my passengers safely to our destination. I know I will be a much safer driver today because of this course. Thank you very much Ray! I would highly recommend ALL drivers on Houston roads to take this coures. read more

I just completed the online course and was disappointed. The animations were cheesy, the character voices were obnoxious, and most of the videos you have to watch were very boring and dated. The last video on drunk driving was very good though. I didn't expect great entertainment from a driving course, and for $25 I guess it wasn't too painful. The worst part, however, was that the site navigations kept re-directing me to a blank page, which either caused me to get test questions incorrect (this happened twice), or made me watch videos repeatedly. I also want to add that it didn't seem like a 6 hour course because they break it up into several sections and sub-sections. It went by quick, and you could log in and out at your convenience. I completed the course over 2 days, with many breaks, and it seemed to fly by. read more

This course is not funny, and at times offensive. Every animated woman has oddly large breasts, and the jokes will make you hate your time wasted with the defensive driving course more than other courses. The most annoying thing is the 'multimedia' questions. They aren't test questions, and they will ask you inane things like, what was playing on the tv in the background of the last clip? What color shirt was the man wearing? OMG, who cares! Just ask me about driving and get on with it. I do not recommend this class. I've gone another course with getdefensive.com and it was pretty good (as far as online DD courses go). The test questions are so easy, you don't have to pay attention at all - take that one instead. read more

Dwight is awesome. Class is engaging and fun-LMBO!! Figured this was going to be a waste of time, but actually learned a great deal of material to take with me on the road. Will apply all lessons learned to be a better and safer driver. Although this was interesting, I do not want to come back- no more tickets for me. read more

Having to take a 6 hour class because of a careless decision of speeding is frustrating. I mean that is 6 hours wasted that could of been used for other productive task. Although I could of done an online class, I decided to take the class with Comedy Driving because I didn't trust myself with procrastinating. I have to say, it was the best decision I made because I not only received an educational lesson but I got a good laugh out of it. My professor, Dwight, was hilarious and very informational. He was great when it came to reviewing the material for the test at the end. I definitely recommend taking this class if you're in need of a defensive driving class. The class goes by fast and you get a peace of mind knowing you are done. read more

Hate that I had to come here but it wasn't as brutal as I thought it would be. Ray did a great job of providing informative information and a lil comedy all at the same time! read more

I had done an online course before and didn't want to do this again. I looked up the acceptable courses and this one was on the list. It is a 6 hour class and the time went very quickly. Dwight was informative and entertaining at the same time. Went to the Thursday night class. Hopefully I won't have to do this again....but if I need to take another defensive driving class, I know where I would go. I would recommend this class if you need a defensive driving class. read more

very funny guy name RAY, he made the time go by very fast & at the same time I learned a lot that I didn't learn when I took defensive driving class by choice in 2009. I will have my boyfriend take this class just for he can get 10% off his car insurance. I highly recommend this place to everyone! ! read more

This was my 1st time doing defensive driving so I didn't really know what to expect. I learned a lot actually, and Dwight was GREAT! He kept us informed and definitely kept things fun and interesting. If I have to do this again, I'll come back here, but I won't be a repeat customer! read more

Getting a ticket is always a drag but this class was definitely not. Dwight was the instructor and he did an amazing job. Made the class fun, hilarious, and still informative. I definitely recommend him at the Katy FWY/Memorial location. read more

AVOID this course like the plague! I took the online course and spent about an hour (so far, I'm in chapter 8 of 11) dealing with malfunctions in the program. Phone in customer service is useless! I'm about 4 hours, plus one problem hour, into the course and want my money back AND to continue to finish the last two hours, however laborious, to get this damn thing done. They are refusing my refund request. If they refund my money they say they will cancel my course entirely! Bullshit company, bullshit course! read more

Class was easy, Dwight was a good teacher and the videos were very effective. The location of the course was also a big plus(close to home).

Always a pain in the a$$ to have to take one of these courses, but these guys certainly make the process bearable - or even more so. I just finished my class with them today at the Katy location, and I thought they were great. It was as painless as it could be, and they were very enjoyable to boot. Thanks Tony! It's a very professional operation, and they really know their stuff. There were about a dozen or so in my class, which was a comfortable number in the room. My recommendation is to take this class in person rather than online. I liked the Katy location, but I'm sure all their locations are as well run as that one was. HIGHLY recommended and a very pleasant experience for an admittedly annoying task. read more

I recommend this class much better than the class online or any other class. Ray was my instructor and he was great! Very engaging! You learn while you're being entertained. read more

Ray is an awesome instructor! This is now my third time here (i like to go fast), and he has by far been the funniest instructor I've had. This is by far the best way to do your defensive driving course. They make everything super easy and painless. It's super easy to just show up and get it over with without wanting to cry through the entire thing. read more

Ray is FANTASTIC! Funny, silly, serious, funny, funny, funny! I dreaded the state mandated 6 hour class but can honestly say that I had a blast! I even learned a thing or two so the refresher was well received. Ray kept the class engaged and has a really positive approach to his craft. If I ever had to return or refer anyone to defensive driving class I would not hesitate to refer anyone to this location off of Kay Fwy. read more

Ray was awesome !!! I would take his class again if I had to. Hopefully I won't get anymore speeding tickets tho . Lol

Awesome fun!! Ray is great and very knowledgable. Never thought getting a ticket would be this much fun!
