Well, this place is really convenient as it's only a couple of blocks from my apartment- plus, I…read morehave a friend who is a comic and he performs here several times a year. However, besides those 2 things- I would STILL make the trip from anywhere else in the city to come here, especially because of the caliber of comics they have here! I have always gotten free tickets here, or my comic friends have put me on the guest list, so I have no idea of a cover charge or ticket prices. I have also used free ticket ads to gain entry. Either way, there is a "2-item" minimum, essentially 2 drinks or food items, and that even includes water. I stick with beer. I had a martini once, and it was expensive and tasted terrible. Popcorn is good, and pretzels, while microwaved, are also good. There is a bar with a couple of booths up front while you wait, and then once you come in, it is a small room with a stage and a bunch of tables. You are seated in the order that you come in; if you want to be up front, get in early. After you are seated, the servers start taking your food and drink orders. Every time I have gone, there were several comics, it has always been a fun night, and if you want, you can fraternize with the comedians before you go in! This is always a fun night out, there are so many restaurants around that you can either eat first and see the second show, or see the first show and then eat.

As other reviews have said, there is a 2 drink minimum, we got pineapple juice with ice. Enjoyed the bucket of popcorn, too. They have an impressive wall of alumni pictures. You will see people you recognize. The size is perfect, not too big or small. Sound was good. Easy to be close to the stage. Our server, Zach was very helpful. A fun night out in NYC! I'll be back! Drinks were meh. Service was good. One bartender for bar and table service but he was pretty quick…read more The only annoying thing was they had all the tables and chairs crammed close to the stage so every time someone walks by they bump into your table or chair. Makes no sense. Run down, divey but has character. Most importantly the talent was funny.

The performances were truly off the charts and should have made for a memorable evening. Unfortunately, the night was overshadowed by an unsettling interaction involving the owner, Mark Yousef. During an argument with another patron, my friend, who was merely standing nearby observing the situation, was abruptly approached by Mr. Yousef and asked, "You look like you have a problem." My friend calmly explained that he simply felt the situation was escalating unnecessarily, yet Mr. Yousef responded by telling him he could leave, questioning whether he was even a VIP guest (which he was), and threatening to call the police. What made the encounter particularly disheartening were the dismissive and condescending remarks that followed, including, "What would you know? You don't own a business." Ironically, my friend is the owner of four successful businesses. It was difficult not to feel that assumptions were being made about him based solely on the color of his skin. It is deeply unfortunate that behavior which came across as prejudiced and unnecessarily hostile detracted from what otherwise would have been such an enjoyable and entertaining night.
