    Awesome stand up show!
    Valeska F.

I came here for a stand up comedy show. The ticket was literally $7 dollars and it included drinks! I had 2 cups of FREE wine while I got to enjoy an AWESOME comedy show. The opener and performers were incredibly funny. Please keep in mind that this is not a regular venue. It looks like an apartment building. Once you get there the vibe is super informal and relaxed, but super funny. The location is right of broadway, literally a block away from all the broadway shows. That night I was originally planning to go to a Broadway show, but the last minute tickets were incredibly expensive and me and my party couldn't afford it. We ended up coming to this show and I got the tickets on the phone just 2 hours before the show. We had so much fun and my experience was great. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to have a fun night on the inexpensive way.

    The host. He was great.

Wow. This is a great deal. I paid 16$ for 2 tickets. They had free beer, wine, and snacks. I tipped them of course. Now on to the comedy. It was great. Each comic was better than the next. I feel like the comedians come here to work on material on a new crowd. Overall it was a great experience and I would def come back and tell my friends to come with.

I want to thank Comedy Village for a great evening on Nov. 11, 2025. My wife and I had a blast…read more Everything about the evening show (starting around 9 pm?) was excellent, but there is one thing I want to point out the most -- the extraordinary effort the comedy show host and all the comedians made that night. We made a spontaneous decision to attend the show because we heard someone walking around saying "Comedy show!" I'm not even sure it was someone from Comedy Village as we didn't get a good look at him in the crowded street, but we were looking for something to do next as we were wandering around aimlessly after watching a Broadway play ("Art" if you haven't seen it, is a must-see.) A comedy show sounded like a great idea as that's one of our favorite things to do when we're vacationing in other towns. Comedians can easily do a great job on nights when everything is going well -- the crowd is big, there's high-energy in the audience, etc. But you really learn about comedians' commitment to their craft when, for example, it's a federal holiday, and it's an unusually quiet night by NY standards, and it's cold and bitter outside. We were part of a tiny crowd that night and wouldn't have blamed the performers for phoning it in. But they didn't. The host was outstanding, and his energy set the stage and the tone for the night. He and the other comedians willed the audience to a great show. I was way more impressed by them under those circumstances than I would have been at a packed house on a more pleasant evening. Job well done! On top of that, the food was surprisingly good. Food typically isn't much to write home about at a comedy club, but everything we ordered came out hot and delicious. As a bit of a chicken wing snob myself, I also give two buffalo-sauce-drenched thumbs up to the wings. Last but not least, the service was excellent, too. Service at most restaurants today is, well, not great. But the service here walked that perfect balance between checking on us enough to make sure we had what we needed without being annoying. We're going to start heading up to New York much more often, and we'll absolutely return to Comedy Village!

There were 2.5 pretty good comedians out of 7 which is pretty standard. The staff and ambiance was good. I'd come back!

This is a Must every time we come to NYC, and we have shared the experience with friends, who end up loving it as much as we do. We've been to different time shows and no matter which it's always a great time. All comedians performing always bring their A-Game and have us laughing all night long. To the point that we are repeating jokes the next day and still laughing. You get to see at least 5 different comedians, and sometimes even "bigger names" show up trying out new material, or just because they're in town. Reservations are really recommended, especially if you are visiting, as it does get sold out, and even thought there's a wait-list line, it get's sold out quick and not guaranteed you will get in. And, believe me, this is not something you want to miss. I just got back and can't wait for my next time there!

A guy at the door said people usually line up a little before one hour before the show to get on the list and staff members come at one hour before. I got in line (first in line lol) at 9p and people really started lining up around ~930p. The staff came around 945 to allow us to scan the QR code (must present ID) to reserve a spot in line. You only need one person per party to scan the QR code. He told us to come back at 1045 (no need to be in an ordered line) to see if our names would be called. After they let in people with reservations they returned to the standby line. I'd say maybe ~12 people got in that time. The staff member said people usually have more standby success for later shows. THE SHOW: The show was spectacular. They understandably ask that you put your phones or Apple Watches in a sealed envelope that you keep with you during the show. We saw five acts - 3 were strong, 2 were weaker. The weaker 2 didn't bomb but we just didn't enjoy as much. There is a cover charge + 2 item minimum per person. The item can be food or a nonalcoholic beverage, so no worries if you don't drink alcohol. Service was good. It's a cramped space but not uncomfortable and I think there's really no bad seat in the house. Such a fun night. :)

Warm lighting, good energy, and a chill crowd make it an easy place to hang whether you're starting your night or winding it down. One of the best parts is the menu. It's super affordable for NYC, but still delivers on quality. Everything feels simple, satisfying, and done right. We ordered the burger and fries, wings and fries, plus a margarita and a mojito. The burger was juicy and filling, the wings were flavorful, and the fries were hot and crispy. The drinks were solid, refreshing, and exactly what you want at a spot like this. Location-wise, it's perfect. The Grizzly Pear is close to so many things, making it a great stop before or after exploring the neighborhood, catching up with friends, or heading to another spot nearby. The service really stood out too. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing, which added to the relaxed vibe of the place. Overall, The Grizzly Pear is a great go-to if you want good food, decent drinks, a cool atmosphere, and fair prices all in one spot. Definitely a place I'd come back to again.

If you encounter someone selling tickets on Broadway with the Comedy Central sign it's worth the money. There were 4 full pitas and a decent amount of hummus - and the pitas were hot! I would have order led more drinks if our server had ever come back but he was really busy. The Host kept emphasizing everyone to tip their waiters generously and I'll bet a lot of people fall for this ploy and double tip. Oh, I forgot about the comedians. That's because they all sucked.
