*** 2.5 - 3 stars *** Plenty of Filipino grocery items,…read morefresh seafood, meats, produce and hot foods. I usually visit for lumpia wraps, pork and the prepared foods counter but service is always spotty and inefficient. Most recent visit I was reminded why I don't visit this location. Staff behind the hot foods counter don't seem to be able to multitask...My sister and I were in line and the lady asked what we wanted....pork adobo...proceeded to chat with her coworker....and then asked again what we wanted...(sister and I looked at each other)...again worker gets distracted and chats with her coworker and YUP asks again...basically, had to repeat 4 times...PORK...ADOBO...very odd, almost humorous and sadly, not uncommon. This is an older location than the Hayward one but does the trick with items I need. Located near Red Ribbon, Valerio and various other eateries. Plenty of shared lot parking

I like this Filipino grocery store. It isn't as polished as Seafood City but this one is not bad…read moreat all, and I actually tend to end up here more than Seafood City just across the street. It's an older building that used to be another grocery store back in the day, so it has those older vibes. The parking lot is kinda grimey but once inside it fulfills all my Filipino grocery needs. There are a lot of satellite businesses (all Filipino geared, cuz Union City) that can complete a one stop shop. There's a Goldilocks, a shipping courier, a bakery (San Honore) and a few restaurant stalls for take-away. I like the produce here, very clean and plentiful. Slightly better prices than both 99 Ranch and Seafood City. Easily 50% of my baskets here are produce. Their dry/pantry selections are also above average from sauces in bottles/packets to noodles to snacks. Their meat section is okay, almost everything is meant to get cooked long and slow family style. If I want a steak to cook in minutes I'll go to an American grocery store. Their seafood section is also a big draw for me, lots of things from tropical waters. But this seafood area can be pretty hardcore at times as lots of things are out in the open just sitting on ice so things can be exposed right in front of you. Most Americans are used to things being behind glass or wrapped up in styrofoam and plastic. Not here you'll see whole fishes with heads and tails along with cut up specimens. I think they are trying to bring those 'wet market' sensibilities from the old world here but with stricter/monitored temperature controls. This is my neighborhood Filipino grocery go-to. And I'm proud of it.

It had a very…read moredark, rustic or nautical, feel with the random knots and ropes around in the foyer, but also a fireplace and warm looking relaxing, cute aesthetics. The server was very helpful and we were able to order very easily. I ordered the Seabass with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and some olive trimmings. my boyfriend got the building your own meal thing and he had some sort of fish with shrimp and brussels sprouts without the candy bacon but they were way too sweet for both of our liking! I guess we're just more traditional and we like regular brussels sprouts without all the sugar. Lol. Both dishes were really well prepared and had great sauces or dips/marinades with them. At least when it came to the fish concepts. We were also able to order a bottle of white wine, which went perfectly well with our seafood and everything came out in a timely matter! I was very impressed with everything, especially since we were eating so late at night on a Thursday night. Hee I would love to come back and try a couple more items on their menu!! They also had a TV screen/monitor showing all their items that I didn't realize until after I ordered my food, but there were so many delicious looking items on that picture screen I wish I would have looked at that before I picked my items from the menu, but I just reading the details. Pictures say 1000 more words! Lol oops! I will definitely be back!
