He made it fun but safe. The rules were very clear. All of the boys had such a great time!! They did multiple rounds with different games and objectives which kept the kid all entertained. I think everyone's favorite was the kids vs parents where all the parents got to go on the field. Great picnic table setup perfect to bring and have cupcakes / pizza etc. they supplied plenty of water and there is a bathroom right next to the field. Highly highly recommend!!! Well, I've yet to find a better stocked supply of genuine military-quality goods. They will pretty much have what you need, so long as you are willing to spend the time to look. Along with all of the expected inventory, Dave has some "bargain-bin items where he sells overstock items at truly incredible prices. Visit this store when you have the extra time to dig, and thoroughly look around. The owner prices items entirely on what he has to pay for his inventory. What that means is that sometimes "well worn" items may be mixed in a bin with brand new items that are actually priced lower. It's up to the buyer to do their due diligence in inspecting your purchase - which is why it's SURPLUS. Action also stocks and sells a lot of brand new clothing and gear that can be a bit pricey compared to buying the same items on-line. But if it's something you really need, then spending a few extra dollars for the privilege to inspect and try on your purchase, then it's well worth it. Many customers are there to buy for cosplay or paintball combat. My focus (and viewpoint for this review) is to purchase mil-spec quality tools and gear because it lasts many times longer than cheap Chinese crap that is sold everywhere else.

Everything was going great... until I went to the Big 5 store on Elkhorn Blvd. At first, the saleswoman was polite, but after she called the manager to handle the return of a defective inflatable mattress, the situation changed completely. The manager was extremely rude and disrespectful -- he kept snorting, interrupting, speaking in an irritated tone, and showing open aggression. I couldn't argue or raise my voice -- my English isn't strong enough for that, which can easily be confirmed by the store's security cameras. So I calmly and respectfully called my daughter to help explain the situation over the phone. The manager spoke to her rudely and irritably, getting upset when she referred to the official Big 5 website, where the return policy is clearly stated differently from what he claimed. He even tried to intimidate me by threatening to call the police, as if the police were some kind of punishment force that would come and "throw me out of the store." I never raised my voice, never acted rude or aggressive -- I was simply trying to return a defective item, staying calm and respectful the entire time. In the end, the manager grabbed the box with the mattress, carried it outside, and ordered me to leave the store. I was completely shocked by this treatment. I never expected that a well-known retail chain like Big 5 could allow such behavior toward a customer. I sincerely hope that the company's management reviews the security footage, investigates this incident, and ensures that such behavior never happens again. Im​ really interested to see if the same behavior continues from that manager and if anything action will be taken towards stoping it.

They would help fit you, help you find the best shoe for your needs, check the fit.. The works. In recent years it's changed but today was the WORST. I took my 16 year old in who has scoliosis and different lengths in her legs which causes bad pain. She's at the age where her feet are done growing so time to get some good quality shoes. I expected service like it used to be, I expected to be helped. What I got instead was a rude teen? Early 20s punk who could care less about giving actual customer service. Ask for a recommendation on a good walking shoe? Response "I don't know check the wall". Ask if they have a size of a shoe "I brought out a bunch in her size, that's what we have" ... Yet he claimed he would check the back if I had any questions.. Guess he changed his mind? Part of me wishes I would have just walked out and checked elsewhere but again MY DAUGHTER IS IN PAIN WHILE WALKING so I didn't want to drag her store to store. She calls to the back room he comes out can't find the other shoe finally finds it and then pretty much hides between two aisles to finish his texting.

It's a great spot for quick, last-minute needs. One downside is the shoe section. Especially during sports season, it feels like they're always out of the sizes we need. Cleats are the hardest to find, which is a bummer because their prices are usually better than other stores. Customer service could be better too. Every time we go in, the employees are hanging out at the front chatting and don't really offer help.

Sometimes Big 5 charges a lot of money for items you can get cheaper elsewhere. This is why I look at the sales, because often you can find some neat items on the cheap. Service here is fair. Sometimes you need to make some effort to get employees to notice you. Other times they are on it and are ready to assist in any way they can. Considering it's in a small town, this is a decent store for its selection.
