Chef Zach got us started on Veal Tonnato, a beautifully seared piece or veal with carrot, celery and onion along with some fresh herbs and white wine. We made a lovely sauce to top the veal with egg yolks, olive oil, capers, parsley, anchovy fillets, tuna (which we skipped), and vinegar. It was perfectly cooked, flavourful and oh so tender! The pasta was agnolotti with escarole and ricotta. Since we've made pasta at home many times, so we basically rocked this out! It was a filled pasta with veg and ricotta, ground chestnuts and herbs. Very veg forward but incredible flavours! We shared our pasta with some lovely young ladies who's dish didn't turn out well (not their fault). The dessert was gnocchi fritti, which is basically a zeppole. Yummy fried yeast dough sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was crispy on the outside and tender in the inside and surprisingly tender! Chef Zach is a great teacher, he had lots of good tips and kept the class moving along at a decent pace. We enjoyed some lovely red wine with our food and while we were cooking which always helps. It was a busy day in the Sorrentino's kitchen with lots of catering going on but the other chefs still had time to answer all my questions about what they were doing. Chef Jeff was very helpful and interesting to talk to! I absolutely adored the cooking class. I LOVED being in their kitchen and chatting with all the chefs!!! Today absolutely validated the cooking skills I have, gave me some new ideas and reignited my inner foodie passion! I'm so ridiculously in love with this place!

Staff were friendly and helpful. The reason that I'm not giving 5 star to them is because the venue didn't have a proper setup for work events. Projector was not bright enough. Lighting was very poor and we could not even read any of our notes. I believe this could be fixed easily if they would like to attract businesses to use this facility for their event and I hope next time I go there I see some improvements. If you go there for personal and family fun day, you'll probably enjoy your experience and will have fun! For those activities I actually recommend them! :)

They have pool tables, some arcade games, bowling, Lazer tag, billiards/pool, and a lounge. The lounge has events such as comedy or sports game nights, and it always ends up being a great time. Each time I have been there, the servers in the lounge have been great with checking up with you to see if they can assist with anything. Keep in mind if you want to go here with a group, it is best to book in advance, because this is a fairly busy location. That being said, each time i have gone here with one or two people, I haven't had to wait long at all. One side note; as this is a fairly busy place, the pool tables have had a lot of use and are not in the best of shape, and some are straight up in need of repair. However, if you are looking for fun, Gateway Entertainment has that for sure. As mentioned above, I have been here many times, and will most likely continue, as it is always a fun time.

They have this stupid policy where you have to leave a piece of ID, and the staff will go in to the room afterwards to check for damage, hence the delay in play time. (I've played in a lot of the different escape rooms in Vancouver, and this is the first time I've come across this sort of policy). We had a misunderstanding regarding one of their promotions, and the staff were quite rude about it. We did the hostage room, and I was pretty disappointed by the set up. Definitely not as fancy or elaborate as Breakout. Due to the downtown location, there is no free parking unless you come outside the meter hours. I also was not a fan of the sketchy basement location. All in all, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I prefer Breakout by far.

I thought it was a bit weird that they didn't mention that we'd need a group of 8 when we first booked, but suddenly put us together with other people the day of our booking. Because National Security is the hardest room they have, I think it IS good to have more than 4 people, but 8 is far too many (maybe 6 max). There were just too many people and while we were crowded in a circle, trying to read a clue or look at something, there were always like 2 or 3 people who were standing around and not doing anything. We did not complete the room, but it wasn't because we were hurting for people, it was because we ran out of time. 45 minutes is far too short to do this, and just adding more people is not the solution. Also, I really didn't like the cheap-looking basement location. The setup reminded me of a very low-budget elementary school play. The props and clues, while creative, were very cheap and not at all convincing. I feel very ripped off since they charged each person $25 for a group of 8 for 45 minutes, and only got a cheaply-decorated room in a sketchy basement. I would not recommend this place, and I will not be returning.

I had prepaid via Eventbrite for a $50 tree. When I saw a bigger and fancier tree, I chose to upgrade to the $100 tree. I just had to pay the price difference. After this, I received a brief explanation of a couple of paint options I had to choose from and then I started painting! This wasn't set up like one large ceramic painting class. People came and went at different times. Each group that came in would get separate instructions by the staff members. This worked out because painting times definitely varied. I honestly underestimated how long it would take to paint a ceramic tree. I think I must've painted a total of 6 coats of paint. It's partly because of the paint option I chose. I required a base coat to ensure my tree would come out shiny dark green. It took me about about 3 hours to paint! I wanted to make sure all the crevices of my tree were covered. I did this activity after work on a Wednesday night. It was a fun way to unwind and chat with my friend. However, in the future, I would prefer to do this on a weekend instead. I finished painting right before the store closed around 9pm. It would've been more relaxing if I knew I didn't have to work the next day. Once I was finished, I painted my initials under the tree. I was told it would take about a week for my tree to be ready for pick up. When I was reunited with my tree, I was super happy with the result! The wiring for the light bulb was inserted. Light bulb not included. I also received a bag of multicoloured mini plastic bulbs and a plastic star topper to decorate my tree. Overall, I had a good time here! I would definitely consider coming back to paint something else. The staff were helpful and the products are good quality. I know I could've easily bought a ceramic tree instead of painting one. It might have been less expensive and definitely easier to just buy a finished tree. However, I'm proud to say that I painted my tree!
