Getting ready to take some shots!

Any place that can make me feel like a Katniss / Legolas hybrid is a 5 star thing in my books. I absolutely loved my experience here! Staff is very helpful. The guy realized that our party was all newbies and took the time to instruct us how to properly use the bow, as well as giving safety instructions. Once we headed to our lanes, the regulars there provided even more help. Everyone was outrageously friendly, offering help and advice to us. Really a wonderful atmosphere to learn a new skill! There are 10 lanes, which operate on a first come, first serve basis. If the lanes are full, then you have the option of sharing a lane with someone else. We went on a Monday and had no trouble securing 4 lanes, but I can imagine it gets busy on the weekends. You can stay as long as you'd like - there's no lame times limits (which I really love! I didn't feel pressured to rush or anything). Prices for rentals are also very reasonably considering how long you can stay there. I'll definitely be back to hone my newfound skills!

Not too bad for left hand! (Best shot I could get!)

What a fun way to spend an evening! You can call me Katniss. Instructions were given in detail and even when I wasn't sure even after that the instructor took the time to explain it over with no judgement. Parking is ample and the building is very easy to get to (although a little hidden!). The inside is spacious with lots of lanes so we didn't have to wait long to get shooting! Had a great time and look forward to going back again!

Archery is a great way to feel inspired. Inspired that you can achieve the capabilities like those we watch in awe on the big screen who always hit the targets in the bullseye..always. Of course, that goes along with practice. Wyld Archery can provide that for those who seeks that. The staff member was friendly and helpful noting the emphasis on safety. He was patient with the many questions I was asking to help me improve my technique to be a better marksman. Ten individuals at a time. We shoot together and we claim out arrows together for the sake of safety. Technique is key, the more I shot the better I had become even in that hour! Even I, who is unskilled in the arts of video games and hunting...all that hand eye coordination that a lot of guys seem to be so good at. It feels good to try something new cause it opens the possibility of so much more than what you thought couldn't be you. As a female, it's empowering. Though I may not hit the bullseye this time, I'm sure to come back to try again. Ample parking and location easy to follow on GPS. Sign of the business can be seen from the service road.

Who would have thought that this was *the* place to be on a Friday afternoon? The lanes were packed! We had a blast trying out archery for the first time (well, my first). After a safety lesson and tips from who I assume is the owner (he looks a lot like Kevin Smith!), we paid and off we went. $14 for a day pass for an adult and you get a bow and 3 arrows to rent. We were good after an hour, but others were there for a lot longer. Very fun way to spend an afternoon. Felt super bad ass. We went there on a date, but I was surprised at the variety of people there. Girls on their own and with other girls, guys on their own - they even do kid lessons. Definitely an eclectic mix of people. Try it for something different and relatively inexpensive!

If your thinking that you could personify Daryl from the Walking dead in an actual zombie apocalypse I strongly urge you to get your archery practice on at Wylde Archery! This place is kind of hidden just off the south side of yellow head trail and 148 st. It's a big building with adequate free parking out front. On entering the business is divided into two parts. The first area is the front desk with different types of archery and hunting gear available for purchase. The second area is the archery range. They also do repairs for bows if you happen to own one. The store manager that greeted us was very knowledgeable and will set you up with the right gear so you can get down to the range. He gives a very stern but necessary rundown on the rules while shooting on the range and instructions on how to actually shoot the arrows with the bow. For $18.50 you get to borrow equipment and shot at the range as long as your heart desires. I really can't wait to get out to the range again. I think next time it's going to be on a date night with the hubby. You know we won't be going down too early in the next apocalypse.

I recommend this place. It was my first time trying out archery and it was just what I imagined. Got there and a nice man greeted us and told about safety and how to shoot the arrow. He clearly knows what he's doing and delivers instructions pretty well. I had so much fun that I want to go again and really considering it to be a hobby of mine! I want to practice more and own my first ever bow.

Next time, I plan to hit the "X".

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Seriously though, I can't stop thinking about when I can go back next. Wyld Archery is located on the southside of the Yellowhead, just east of 149 street in a new building complex. The space is one half retail archery equipment and clothing and the other half archery lanes. There are approximately 10 lanes in total. The owner, Justin, was super thorough with instructions, and it was easy to see how passionate he is about archery. Once we got onto the range, it seemed a little tricky at first, but after recalling and following Justin's instructions, hitting the target came fairly easily! Lane rental along with recurve bow and arrows costs under $20 for a full day! Talk about a great deal! I could easily spend 2+ hours here without getting bored. It's a great space to spend an afternoon with friends doing something a little different.

We love Wyld Archery! So much fun and provides an indoor range so it's available year round. Since it's a drop in style you never know who is going to be there or how many people will be there but all of the regulars are friendly, share the lanes, offer assistance and help to new people, and help enforce the lane rules to ensure everyone is safe. I really like how archers are so friendly and open to sharing about their bows, arrows, technique and this is a great environment for new people to try out some archery. Justin is wonderful and very knowledgable! He offers a great deal if you buy a bow through him- definitely worth inquiring if you are seeking gear. As well he makes arrows, sets up new bows, works on compounds and recurves, and I'm sure has even more expertise than I'm aware of. You're given lots of freedom once set up with your gear and I appreciate not having a time limit on our experience! Highly recommend this epic range!

Although this place is hidden within the area, I had a fun time shooting arrows for the first time. There was a time in junior high where I went to these archery places but they would only let us shoot a round of arrows and then send us back off to school. However, this time round while done school I was able to shoot many arrows which was fun and in time I got better quick. Must of been an archer in my previous life. Any who, at this rate I might even find myself buying a real bow and arrow set. What made this day even more exciting was shooting arrows with friends. The cost for renting the practice bow and arrows was reasonably good for the allowed allotted time which was till closing. Mind you that we went on a weekend and arrived in the afternoon only to finish near closing time about 5ish. There are plenty of people but near closing time only a few stay which is perfect. I highly recommend this place for a fun time or date maybe. Haha, oh yeah it will be nice, trust me. ;)

Helpful and thy really watch after their customers New and old. I find all of them complimenting people and helping to offer tips. Our friend joined us one time and his bow needed to be cleaned and greased and they were so quick to not only help him out but give their expert advice on the condition of his bow. This is definitely more of a compound bow place, they rent Genesis bows and compound bows. We are traditional recurve people and don't get me wrong receives are welcome they just aren't in the majority here. Come on a Tuesday with a friend! Great incentive if you have your own gear and come on a Tuesday it's only $20 for the two of you. Other targets are welcome- like balloons and we have brought the occasional stuffed toy and other targets just to add that little fun, but they do supply you with a standard target. Range is 20 yards and they have these super cool wooden wall pieces that they can move around to help create a closer target for beginners. They even used them one time to create two separate groups. There was a large group that rented out half the space and Jim Bows was really conscientious for their regulars/people paying that they created this separate section for the group which allowed the regulars to shoot at their pace and not have to be held up by the groups pace. Can you buy stuff here? Absolutely! They have a great selection of bows, gears, hunting stuff. And the service area is right smack in the centre so as you shoot you can have your gear worked on a check in on the progress. We highly recommend this place for both beginners and those who are fond of the fun sport of archery.

Absolutely a great place to let loose some arrows and meet some fellow archers! Who are of coarse…read moreall friendly I have mainly dealt with Carson and David ( co-owners) they are super welcoming and very knowledgeable to help out wether your just learning or have questions about a bow you own. They also boast a shop right there where they can adjust your bow. The rates are very well priced and there are also available deals for couples , they can provide lessons and rentals ( typically compound bows). The store front has plenty of bows ( compound mostly) hunting gear, and all the bits and pieces you would need for launching some arrows! I always refer this place now due to the vibe and friendly service. It is located in an industrial park, the parking has never been an issue there is plenty
