Kids gear up with safety vests and glasses, they get their choice of nerf guns and load up ammo. Then they have teams, red vests vs blue vests and about an hour to play inside the nerf zone. In that area there are places to hide behind and run around so you can try and shoot the other team or capture the flag. There is also a target practise area for the smaller kids or those who may not feel too comfortable to go play in the larger zone. This is great for the little kids and let's them have a good time too. There are party rooms available for cake and food and presents. The party rooms have table and chairs and even a TV set up so if some kids really don't want to play they can watch a movie in the room while they wait for the other kids. The staff at Foam Fighters are so friendly and helpful and great with kids of all ages. They are really understanding and help guide the kids on what to do. Great experience here for this birthday party and I would recommend this place for a cool fun party!!

It's nice to have a place where you can release your frustrations without suffering much in the way of injuries/bruises like paintball or Airsoft haha! The grand opening was super packed by 10:30am, and lots of people went through before I even got there! The menu item samples they were handing out were so delicious that I look forward to just coming back for their cafe, like the homemade pizza and popcorn cups. Yum! Being the nerdy person I am, the periodic table of menu items was also appealing, including the gamey signage posted in the building The vast variety of different nerf guns was also exciting and surprising, and they also have bows/arrows! Booyah!

This place is great. Is it the biggest...no…read more Fanciest...no. But it's staffed by people who love the game. And that means a lot. Edmonton has onlh a couple of choices for indoor paintball, and in the dead of winter. This is the place to play. It is primarily greared toward speedball, but, of course, all rental gear is woodsball equipment. As an equipment owner, this is the only indooor field I want to play at. The prices are considerably better for owners than anywhere else. This is where a great new hobby/sport can be experienced in controlled environment. In the summer, they have a comparably sized outdoor field in the back to play on as well!

This location is simply a speedball field just in case your wondering haha!…read more So my opinion of this facility time. The field is very well set up and clean, the staff is beyond knowledgable and very very nice! There is a pro shop upstairs which is awesome and very well stocked at all times with a tech behind the counter at all times that is willing to help you with any problems you have with your personal marker. The ONLY reason this field does not get a 5/5 with me is because I am not a huge fan of speedball haha. I have never had a "bad" experience here with anything or anyone, absolutely worth the time and money to play at this field

You know those silly quizzes like "which muppet would you be?" and "what superhero hero weapon…read moreshould you use?" Well it turns out if I were a Muppet I would be Fozzy Bear (yaaas!) and I don't know exactly what weapon I should use if I were a superhero, but I know it should not be a bow and arrow. My previous attempts at archery had been once as a kid at summer camp, and using my brother's nerf bow and arrow (this one from this very 90s commercial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrJU1uQVBB0). A real legit bow and arrow never. I really sucked at archery. That's not to say I didn't enjoy myself because I did, but if the goal was to hit the target then I failed. If the goal was to hit the floor or the would work or the outside of someone else's target then watch out. Wyld Archery is located on the Yellowhead, easiest way (I found to get there) is go up on 149th, turn right on the Yellowhead and it's basically the next set of businesses on the right side on 148th street. Regular rates are about $20/day/per person which includes the lane rental and bow and arrow. It's first come first serve and if you were really hard core you could go there all day. Safety of course is important so the owner goes over with you the rules, because no one should get impaled with an arrow. He also goes over how to hold the bow and shoot the arrow, because doing it improperly you can hurt yourself or wreck the equipment. At the very beginning each in our group was assessed on which way we'd shoot. It's very strange because I'm left-handed, but apparently I shoot right (it has to do with your dominate eye). So it took a long time for me to feel coordinated. Despite my lack of skill, was a lot of fun. And the rate of $20 per day is pretty reasonable. Maybe I'll come back again and try to improve my archery skills.

Some of the regulars gave us pointers... thank goodness as I wasn't having a lot of luck. Ok, luck is subjective! I hit other peoples' targets 1 and 2 lanes over. Yes, I'm shaking my head too. With an hour or so of practice, I got better. Hit the paper target too-my OWN! I took the advice in Carley's post for first-timers about wearing a long-sleeved shirt. Good advice. No injuries were sustained, but I was a bit stiff the next day. Definitely, posture made a difference in my shot, and figuring out how to not get your bust caught in the bow. :-D Robin Hood I am not, but for my first time, pretty successful. I understand there are bows for kids available to rent, and the youngest they've had was 4. FOUR! So any age, any ability. It's a great sport to try - you might just love it as much as we did. Looking forward to coming for another visit. Closed on Wednesdays, but check for hours. Weekdays are better for fewer people and quick turns.

One of my favourite Gyms in the city! Other locations have started having reusable wristbands which are much better and easier. For the noise and crowd: I plan my workout time around rush hours and I completely avoid the place when there is a tournament. The customer service is awesome and the staff is always nice and helpful! I haven't had any bad experiences related to customer service! If you plan it right, you can enjoy your workouts here! I recommend this place!

Came to the Castle Downs Spray Park today as part of my Yelp quest to find the best of the best…read morespray and splash parks in and around Edmonton. Castle Downs comes in at a strong 4 out of 5 stars. Today was a jam packed Sunday afternoon with so very many options including multiple playgrounds, giant gazebo, skatepark, 2 food trucks - ice cream and a Poutine/burger/fry truck, and the city of Edmonton Green Shack peeps. The Spray park had several zones including a musical piano, spray cannons, and loops of water you can run through. PROS Multiple water and playground zones -something for everyone Washrooms Food trucks Green shacks Huge grass fields/hills surrounding park Ample parking lot City of Edmonton Staff Rubber ground for majority of spray park and playground Lots of swings CONS Too big! So big that it was easy to lose track of my toddler even while playing with him on the playground and in the spray park Zones are not fenced in so if you lose track of your child, they could go missing quickly or wander to the parking lot/road. Close proximity of townhomes attached to the backing grass, again not fenced off, would also make it easy for a child to wander to a residential area. Some people may be thinking, hey watch you kid(s) and yes BUT if you are here with several children (especially toddlers) we all know how fast one can run off while attending to another child. The water cannons shoot water hard enough to nearly knock my toddler off his feet - good for BIG kids but not so great for my toddler and kindergartner Lack of shade - lots of people set their chairs up against the washroom building to try and find shade Very few benches/picnic tables In summary, Castle Downs park has loads of amenities and lots of space but so much so that it felt overwhelming at times and difficult to keep track of little ones. If you have a big kid that doesn't require sight and sound supervision, this may be the park for you! But if you're like me with a toddler and little kid, this park was a little too much for us coupled with a lack of shade or fenced in areas resulting in a solid 4 out of 5 stars. PS - If you are planning on coming here with little ones under 5 - I'd recommend a 1:1 ratio of supervision to toddlers :-)
