I've been here over the years for Trappers games and more recently an Edmonton Prospects game. I've also been here for a party during the World's Masters Games (at which I was volunteering) and the field is a really neat concert venue as a result. It's perhaps not as big as a bigger ballpark but it is certainly very useable and useful. Having sat in box seats as well as in the regular stands I can appreciate both. The field is parking and transit accessible. I like to just walk down to it from downtown as it's a nice walk. While I'm not a huge fan of baseball, I will admit that one's enjoyment of a game here really has more to do with who one is with than the game itself for the most part. I think that the more dated aspects of the park would become renewed if we again had a higher league ball team playing here.

On Canada Day, you can stay past the game to watch the fireworks. There is a concert .in between the two events. The food here is okay. It has switched to Remax field and I think that this is why the menu changed as well. There are fewer choices than before. I want to try to nacho poutine next time I am there. There are a variety of seats to choose from including lower bowl where you sit on field level, balcony seats, nose bleeds, and bleachers. I believe the field seats have a private bar and you can order your food instead of standing in line. We go to games as often as we can

There's even a small park for children, decent parking, and it is located very close to the river if you wanted to go for a nice walk on the paths. It is also walking distance from downtown. There is a skating rink in the winter (which I've not visited as most of my visits have been in the spring/fall/summer) but the space is lovely for a picnic or other summer activities. A smaller park, it is often less busy than other more well-known Edmonton parks in the downtown accessible area.

The ice is fairly well maintained. This year they added in the 400m Freezeway, which is an awesome starter project. The loop is still fairly short, but lots of fun to skate! There are slight slopes which make it fun, but also a little scary for newer skaters. The ice is rough. Very rough. So be careful! The areas with the lights are very pretty and are a perfect place to snap a picture. I'm really excited about this project and hope they expand it in future years! There's lots of parking to be found here, which makes it super convenient to visit. A great place to head for some free fun, a workout, or even a date!

I believe they play from June to August. The organizers have done an amazing job to provide a great fan experience. They often have themes nights throughout the season. This past year we were able to bring some family visiting from out of town and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience as well. Their merch is also really nice. A couple years ago the season had ended and our novel who loves baseball was visiting from out of province. I contacted the hawks and purchased some merch and a hat for him and they offered to show us around when we came to pick it up. We got to walk onto the field and everything. I know they allow kids onto the field at the end of some games as well. The organization genuinely cares about giving fans a positive and fun experience and I feel that they go out of their way to do that. Go hawks!

Tonight I sat way too long in the lineup at Peter's, so naturally I thought of this location on my way home. It was super windy and quite chilly tonight. I debated just looking at the lake from the vehicle but I wanted to see what birds were out there. So I had a fast eating kind of picnic while watching the geese at the lake, checked out the playground to see if it's worth bringing the nephews and nieces (definitely cool!) and just enjoyed watching the sun set from different angles. It's a large park with the road dividing the off leash area from where the playground is. Trees look to be the boundary to the gold course further back in the park. If you're looking for well set up group spaces for picnics that are family friendly, I'd recommend this location. Lots of parking too. Oh

This park is OUT OF THIS WORLD!…read more There are so many playgrounds here, it is easy for me to get lost! TONS of parking, at least 5 separate playgrounds including - toddler playground, big kid playground, rock wall/climbing and rope course play ground, HUGE spray park, and a freaking monkey bars playground... that's right, I said a monkey bars playground with more than 20 different types/styles of monkey bars. This park is INSANE - if you haven't been here, you NEED to come. Get up, right now and go! So pray tell, why am I only giving 4 stars rather than 5 stars? Well... Okay, compared to my family's personal have spray park, this park does not offer concessions, is not staffed during all open hours, and has a lake that little ones could run off to quickly and possibly get wet or be in a dangerous situation. So... If coming here with only big kids that you trust not to go in the lake or run out in the parking lot, then this park may become your very favourite. If you are like me with two kids under 6, this park requires a 1:1 ratio of adults to children to be certain of safety. I will most definitely be coming back here again and again and again!

Glad I was able to check out this potentially temporary beach! We missed the main entrance but we…read morefound a secondary one that isn't as easy to use but it did the trick. We ended up on the eastern end of the beach. The sand is quite nice around there. I saw some people had a volleyball net set up and once you comb the same for rocks and branches it was perfect for volleyball. The day we went was really windy so playing would be somewhat difficult. In the middle of the beach there's a rocky section which had more litter then other areas. I saw a family picking up some litter to keep the 'park' as clean as possible. I also saw some rock gardens previous beachcombers had created including a cluster in inukshuks that mimicked the city scape behind it. Close to the main entrance to the beach (the carved out stairs) there is a really nice sandy beach. The sand is quite fine grain that it packs hard but is still really nice on the feet. It's also raised from the river but it's closest to the construction dam that allowed this beach to exist. Now regarding the water... the rivers edge appeared to be clean and the water was quite nice but I've heard without a lot of rain recently there could be some unappealing bacteria in the water. There was a section of still water that had come off the river and it definitely had an odor that told you not to go there.

Can you believe this was my first time at Foote Field? It wasn't even for a U of A game, either!…read more My second FC game, and my first time at Foote. TIckets were cheaper here than at Commonwealth, and it's because the venue isn't as nice. But it gets the job done - lots of seating, a big open grass space, plus they were selling pop and drinks, and hot dogs. Unfortunately, the wind-pocalypse hit in the first half and we booked it out of there before it got any worse. Because it's such an open venue, and it's raised up from the ground, you really feel the wind or sunshine or whatever weather you happen to be receiving at the moment. But the game was fun, the drinks kept us warm(ish), the crowd was enthusiastic, and Foote Field did its job.

My experience with Foote Field is based solely on attendance at FC Edmonton games…read more I guess this is a multi-purpose field for U of A students, and is definitely not soccer specific. This could be confusing as there are white, red, and blue lines on the field of play. There are two sections of seating; reserved on the west side and general admission on the east. Reserved is just regular seats and the GA side is raised up high school style bleachers. Trust me when I say the reserved side is much more comfortable, especially when there is adverse weather, like wind, or even when it's very sunny. There are actual bathrooms and concession counters on the west side, whereas on the east side there are four porta-potties and a Fat Franks stand (which is sweet), and dudes selling beer essentially out of an ice bucket. The GA side is also kind of up a hill a little bit, so while it doesn't seem like it when you're sitting there, you're a bit of a distance from the field compared to being on the other side. The field has your regular electronic scoreboard, but no huge TV for replays. I still find myself looking up for one, even though I know it's not there! You pick up your pre-bought tickets at the will call counter, or you can get tickets the day of. The box office isn't open on a regular basis as I understand it. There is tons of parking available and the LRT stops right beside the field. I suppose it will do for now, but Edmonton really needs a soccer specific stadium.

It's easy to get to and away from the downtown activity and great for walkers and runners. There's the riverfront plaza and promenade where there are washrooms available. The Chinese garden is lovely and I have seen wedding parties take photos at this location. It's serene and a lovely walk on the trail beside the river. There can be a few runners but room for walkers and runners to share. You can also see the River Queen and I believe you can access it with a walk across the pedestrian bridge and then a short walk through the park on the other side. If you want to sit and relax, there are benches with the view of the river. One of the many great parks in Edmonton!
