My gf brought home a burrito marked "veggie" and its was a bean n cheese STUFFED with zucchini. The zucchini was very slimy and there was waaaay too much. This is the first time in decades I couldn't finish a meal. I hate wasting food but this was disgusting and made my stomach hurt. This is the second time I've had this burrito (my gf buys them) and we usually go to burrito express on telegraph. Both times is was nasty but I was able to stomach it the first time. For the record I would not have ordered from here but my gf asked me if I want a burrito from ole ole and she switched to this place because they also have bogo bean n cheese burritos. I would pay twice as much to not eat this. It tastes like uncooked nopales.

I like we have this option literally 15min walk from our apartment in Adam's point. It's a cute place right on grand ave although these days sitting out it can get noisy especially on weekends with the big bikers rolling up and down the street:( I have eaten here twice. Tried some tacos and burrito the first time with some other items and we all agreed the burrito was worth coming back for. Solid pork al pastor. Quite tasty and different since they put pineapple in it. The salsas are quite different also and they r yummy. Chips are freshly made so very delicious. One of the things I wish they worked on is serving some salsas and guacamole in plastic containers even for those eating there. I get it, it's probably convenient and easy but in our world today there is so much plastic already that this gives me a big headache. We typically choose to dine in to avoid plastic containers to go and yet again here we are. I hope the owner tried to serve in small steel or wood containers for those dining in. Thank you!

Came on a Sunday around 30min after they opened. Was very quiet inside but the restaurant has a lot of seating inside and out front and cleanly decorated. The restaurant is counter service and then they bring the food to you. The food was very good and huge portion sizes! We should have split one dish between the two of us. Also got the hibiscus lemonade which was delicious.

Comal Next Door is pretty damn delicious. I normally order through DoorDash and almost always order a chicken burrito with no crema. Honestly, the area around the lake is blessed with a lot of great Mexican food. Last night I ordered a vegan burrito bowl and added chicken for $5. Unfortunately for my protein lacking self, the bowl had all of the labels on what should have been inside but they missed adding in the chicken. My heart was instantly struck with grief. Anyway, I reported it to DoorDash and it was taken care of with a credit. I do like that they encourage you to order from them directly on their ad they included in my bag. I may just do that to make sure my food is right next time.

    Roach in the bathroom

Friends and I ordered chicken burritos today and they were so good!!! My one star review is due to the cockroach we saw in the bathroom. Call an exterminator! If there is one then that means there are a WHOLE LOT MORE!

Drink menu, cocktails only available after 5p.

3.25 stars. Could be a 4, but they're not trying that hard. Lots of pluses and minuses. I like the burritos well enough. They're slightly above average. The fried chicken torta was disappointing though. A good number of beers on tap. But the wines aren't so good. Even being across from the lake, the place is not especially inviting. There's some seats indoors but there's no atmosphere. Yes, it has four tables out front with a view. Not the worst place you can end up in a warm summer day. Especially if there's a long line at Grand Lake Kitchen. I am ambivalent. Don't be surprised to find me here on a warm day having a burrito con cerveza if I don't have time to go someplace else. Frankly, I mostly order delivery from here.

Came for brunch. No line, not crowded at all so I was skeptical and worried about how the food might taste. Lots of space and clean tables with outdoor and indoor options. You order up front, take a number, and then sit down. We ordered the chilaquiles and the huevos con chorizo. Huevos con chorizo was like a Mexican scramble with meat, peppers, potatoes, and eggs. Pretty good flavor. It came with rice and your choice of beans. The chilaquiles you can choose roja or verde. I got roja with 2 eggs and it was flavorful. Not the most amazing chilaquiles I've ever had but pretty good. We also had two house spicy sauces they served to us. One was a mango habanero, super tasty and the other was super spicy (too spicy for me but I'd you like spicy go for it)! Overall, good experience and good service. We would come back. However, when you compare to other Mexican spots in the Bay, it's probably somewhere in the middle. Id give a 3.5 stars but it doesn't allow that option on yelp. And, there are other options in the bay that are tastier.

Nice ample place with a friendly staff here. Plates look great but sauces are too sweet for my liking. The drink menu is fantastic showcasing local breweries and the likes.

Nachos, no meat. Pico and Guacamole on the side. Check out the color of the pico! Perfect.

Once you get inside you order at the counter. If you're getting tacos they're all the same price so the cashier will write the number of tacos you bought and you take that receipt and get in the line. Once you get called up you put your receipt in the basket that the worker hands you and tell them what kind of meat you want in your tacos. Today I tried the asada, carnitas, Al pastor, and tripa. They all were delicious, my favorite was the tripa. Portions are good ($4.50/taco) and they have a variety of salsas, jalapeños, limes, etc in the seating area once you exit. I also got a hibiscus (Jamaica) agua fresca that was good. They do accept credit card but they'll charge a $1 fee so try to bring cash if you can. Definitely recommend, this is now one of my top taco spots in Oakland.

Tostada beans gigante, the pork shoulder, barbacoa, charred broccoli, mushroom, and chicken tinga. Just a lil lime on top, and enjoy! They have outdoor seating both in front and in their back patio, the front being sunnier while the back was cooler and shaded. It does seem like it can get crowded there due to the amount of customers who may choose to eat here instead of takeout, though. The food came out within 5 minutes. They also have a self-service water pitcher, and pitchers of half-and-half and oat milk next to it, which I assume is provided for those who get coffee (I didn't read through the entire drink menu). I got the vegan breakfast burrito, which has pan fried potatoes, roasted peppers and onions, mayocoba beans, chile morita mayonesa, avocado, corn, cilantro in a flour tortilla and it contains soy. It was savory, just a little bit spicy but tolerable for someone who can handle just mild level so I felt it was a good addition for providing more flavor given vegetarian burritos can otherwise often end up very plain. Quite a bit of avocado. I liked the potatoes and beans, and the insides didn't feel too mushy texture-wise. Admittedly not the hugest quantity for a burrito of this price ($15 before tax/tip) but I appreciate that they have several vegetarian and vegan options on their menu. I also ordered the strawberry agua fresca - listed as agua de fresca on the menu and this is the only flavor available, for $6. It was pretty good, fruity and sweet but not overwhelmingly so. I tried some of the chips and salsa morita that a friend shared with me, and thought it was decent - they give a massive quantity of chips (it would be good for sharing with a group) which are crispy and lightly salted, and the salsa is tasty and very mild in spice level.

I'll be honest: I came in to the dinner a little skeptical at the slightly lower reviews, but seeing that most of them were chalked up as service qualms (and being used to Chinese restaurants), we opted to give it a go. And boy, the food was t.a.s.t.y! Pozole and the carrots and beans were the highlights of the meal, both coming with a super smokey and fiery chili that we absolutely adored, but everything else we had was enjoyable, and not overly seasoned, which is always the concern when we go out these days. I can see where some of the service complaints might have come from because the staff seemed pretty slammed and harried, but we actually found the service to be quite friendly. Accessibility: Outdoor seating is technically accessible, not not always comfortably so. Some tables are situated on slightly-too-steep inclines, which means you may be scrunching or bracing for the entirety of your meal.
