Pho Real Tho This was my first & last time here. Not because of bad service, but because they are closing their doors on 8/22/25 after 7 years. This restaurant was very hot. I chose to sit at a table close to the door for some air. I came at 30min before closing. After talking to the son, who was very friendly & pleasant, he mentioned the air wasn't on. Their PG&E bill was $3000 for one month. Before COVID it was $1000. Well no wonder. How can any business stay open. Yah, I'd close shop too & go travel while I can. I had steamed vegetables, jasmine rice & chicken in coconut milk with some chili oil. I took it to go. I was so sad that I couldn't really enjoy the meal. I ate half. My cats thank you for the rest. 3/30/25 Already Sunday! Getting lunch and perfect for this rainy day is Pho! 2 chicken, tofu & veggies pho ordered and an order of their shrimp spring rolls with an extra peanut sauce ordered. The worker was kind. Said it would be ready @ 11am. Arrived to pick up shortly later. Greeted by kind worker. She confirmed order with me. Paid for it and waited a short time until it was brought. The worker was very sweet. Bagged it for me and told me to be careful. It was a lot. Safe and clean restaurant. A lot of tables and chairs. Lunchtime! Found this place on a whim. Was shopping at river park and craving viet food. Yelped nearby Thai/Vietnamese places and this restaurant popped up. It's a hole-in-the-wall place, easy to miss if you aren't looking. Came in and was acknowledged right away. Was able to sit anywhere. Server came immediately with menu. We ordered shrimp spring rolls their combo pho and Vietnamese sandwich. The server who took our order had trouble communicating with us as she was not fluent in English but she repeated our order and showed us the tablet where she had selected everything we ordered just to confirm it was correct. She was very sweet and nice even though she didn't really speak English. Our food came out in a timely manner and fairly quickly at that. The food blew me away! The sandwich has the perfect amount of crunch without being hard and tearing up my gums. The flavor was on point..savory, sweet and spicy. It could have used a little more meat and daikon but the flavor was there! The pho was on the lighter side, with a more fresh, clean, herb taste as opposed to a deep beefy flavor. I liked the herby taste of the pho, and the thinly sliced meat was so tender and juicy. I was really impressed by the meat quality. Lastly, there were the spring rolls which were pretty average. The peanut sauce that came with it was disappointing. It didn't have much flavor to it and wasn't your typical peanut sauce with spice, sweetness or housin flavor. I was in Fresno again, i wanted to try out a new Vietnamese place for lunch on Sunday. I came to this place and as I walked in it was small and aromatic. Outside is abundant parking. Service was good and friendly at first but started to decline the longer I was there. The waitress never smiled nor cared about the customers happiness. She was there to serve and do her job, that's it. She gave out refills to the water and took awhile to serve the food although that's not her fault, it was the cooks. Price for food was not worth the value you pay for in my opinion. Quantity of food was a good portion size, but the flavors and taste of the food was not good. The egg rolls ordered tasted frozen and just heated up a little bit. The chicken and vermicelli noodles were okay but didn't blow me away like other Vietnamese places. It was small interior and a lot of smoke and aromatic fumes were engulfed in the area. The waitress said the juju Fuji apples were free, but they were not. It was more money for the bag. When we were in graduate school we learned a great deal about Vietnamese food and culture. Since then we always look for a really good Vietnamese restaurant. Com Pho Bamboo is our place in Fresno. Today we ordered a Vietnamese grilled pork sandwich ($10.00) and two appetizers. ($9.00 each). The sandwich is loaded with grilled pork. Lots of interesting vegetables . The best thing about their sandwich is the foot long bread that is toasted to perfection. However, I do not order the sandwich with Jalapeño chile. Too hot for me! The spring roll with the peanut butter dipping was excellent. We also liked the sweet, spicy sauce for the fried pork roll. I love the subtle combinations of different flavors in Vietnamese food. Stopped into this establishment on Thursday 8/21 while in town for a quick work trip. Initially, myself and a colleague were looking to try Fresno bagel next door but it looked underwhelming, so I skipped next door. Big mistake :( It was so hot inside we ended up eating outside. First red flag. I ordered a grilled pork banh mi and some pork and shrimp egg rolls. Upon receipt of the food it was aesthetically appealing. But after the first bite I realized quickly their banh mi's are not the way. The meat was very tough and covered in some weird sauce. So opposite of what I'm used to in Sacramento. Moved on and ate the egg rolls, which were delicious. However, about 1 hour after leaving myself and colleague got really sick. We both were in the restroom numerous times. Achy bones and stomachs and had to work a 4 hour event and then drive home 3 hours. I'm sorry Fresno people but this place is subpar and in my experience a health hazard. I really love shrimp (or shrimp and pork) spring rolls with the clear rice paper and delicious peanut sauce on the side. I actually think this may be my favorite stand alone dish. If nothing else sounds good, this does. If my stomach is giving me troubles, or I don't feel like cooking, this is a great meal--with your protein, carbs, and salad all rolled into one delicious little roll. Some of the best spring rolls in town come from Com Pho Bamboo. Everything is fresh. The right mixture of fresh herbs, vermicelli noodles, meat and other veggies, all wrapped tight and dipped into peanut sauce--and you have a perfect bite. I love adding some chili oil to the sauce first. W I'm also a fan of the pork and vermicelli noodle dish, as well as the fried tofu appetizer--which they serve with crispy and deep fried basil leaves and fried slices of jalapenos. I guess I should venture out of my comfort zone and try more on the menu. Many of their appetizers and other dishes look very intriguing. But I found what I love early on, and don't see the need to explore beyond the perfection I've found in the dishes I keep coming back to. The one item that I've tried that I'm not a fan of are the boba drinks. I have ordered two different flavors before, and they just taste a bit off. BUT that's not the reason why I come here, so it doesn't bother me. I really love that this is a family restaurant--the service is great, and every time I place my order, it is ready as promised, and it is accurate. I originally came here for pho because of all the good reviews la But I saw the menu and changed my mind. I got the sate pho instead. I was expecting it to be like the Lao dish khaopoon because of the description but it was different. In a good way. It was coconut milk base. But light so it wasn't overly rich. They give a lot of meat in the dish. It was good. I do wish that they put more condiments on the table to customize our pho. I think they only offer sriracha and hoisin?(4/5) Popcorn chicken, I usually only find these at the boba tea places but they had it here! It was so good. Super crunchy, hot straight of the fryer. (5/5) The Vietnamese coffee. If you've never had Vietnamese coffee definitely try it. But be weary, this coffee is super strong. Had my in my coffee shakes. Make sure to get extra ice so when you're sipping on it the ice melts and dilutes your coffee a bit. (4/5) The grilled pork spring rolls. So good! This is such a nice change from the usual shrimp spring roll. I think this is the only place that has this type of spring roll in Fresno. So good. Highly recommended (5/5) Fried banana. This for me was the star of the show. They're known for their pho. But I was amazed by the fried bananas. They were so good I got three orders to go after I finished my meal. Get these. They're eggrolls wrapped bananas and deep fried. I get these to eat with vanilla ice cream at home. This place is far from where I live but I will make the trip out just for these. (5/5) The service is good. There's only one person working the front. Please be patient. My one complaint is I wish they had some music or the tv going on in the background. Delicious! This place is great if you're looking for delicious Vietnamese food. I've come here multiple times and it hits the spot every single time. Their pho is some of the best you can find in Fresno. The broth is rich and the noodles are the perfect texture! Aside from pho, their other dishes are just as spectacular. Their popcorn chicken is seasoned perfectly and their vermicelli bowls are to die for. I also got to try their shrimp spring rolls, which are so yummy and fresh. The service here is as good as their food! The workers here are so sweet and very attentive. The inside is quaint with a few tables - so keep that in mind. First time having dinner here. There was no one dining when we entered and we were greeted. It was clean and there was plenty of seating space. And they also provided a clean high chair for our infant. We ordered shrimp and pork spring rolls, chicken pad thai, chicken fried rice, and P1 pho special large. We literally waited about 30mins for our food. Seems as though all the food was made to order. The spring rolls were rolled with a plastic wrap, something I've never seen before but it was delicious and the ingredients were fresh. The pho broth was so flavorful. The chicken fried rice was one of the best we've had. There was pieces of rice that was crunchy only complaint was the grilled chicken although it was delicious there were parts of it that was burnt that threw off the flavor of the meat and made it bitter. The pad Thai was a bit sweeter to our liking but it was still a good dish. Our host was kind but she got busy and didn't get a chance to refill our waters or check on us. Easily some of the best Vietnamese food in town. Primarily known for their coconut milk sate phở, vermicelli noodles, rice plates, as well as many other full-flavored dishes. The V3 - Grilled Pork and Grilled Shrimp served with Vermicelli Noodles and Fish Sauce or Bún Thit Nướng, Tom Nướng, may be the tastiest Bún dish I have tried since my move from Orange County. The grilled marinated pork was so juicy, garlicky, and well seasoned. The shrimp was plump and juicy as well. Perfectly cooked noodles topped with fresh, shredded lettuce. It is understandably one of their most ordered dishes. Many of the same ingredients go into the Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls or Gỏi Cuốn Thịt Nướng. It is meaty, made fresh, good-sized, and only $8.50. The Beef Noodle Soup or Phở Bo was another terrific dish. The broth was delicious, rich, and had a strong meaty flavor. The other choices for Phở are chicken, tofu and seafood, and veggie style. The popular Phở Satế (Satay) is prepared in a spicy peanut and coconut broth and topped with cilantro, scallion, onion, shredded lettuce, cucumber, diced tomato, and herbs. Patrons rave about this very flavorful broth but I was not a fan. I will take a meaty broth just to sip on or slurp my noodles in any day. I have, however, thoroughly enjoyed most of the dishes I have tried. The rice dishes, and baguette sandwiches, or Bánh mì, are all on my radar for a future visit. The broth for the regular pho was very flavorful even without hoisin sauce/sriracha. It was my first time trying sate pho and it was amazing. Chicken pho was good a little too sweet but fresh and just what I was looking for. I would love to try again.

THIS is the place to "com" for authentic pho - no nonsense, and always satisfying. The owner, Kim, is a a lady uncompromising in quality and knows how to make everything taste as good as possible. The best evidence of this is how she keeps her spring rolls (excellent and with the bonus pickled veggies!) wrapped with an outer layer of plastic to keep them from drying out. It keeps the rolls hydrated so if you take them home to eat they are still in good shape and don't get crusty. It's something you have to remember to unwrap but it's not a big deal. Can't compromise for quality! She keeps the peanut pieces separate in case there are diners who don't prefer it in the (generous amount of) sauce. The pho is some of the best I've had with a hearty flavor and body that tells the tale of how long it must take to develop such richness. The meat is in the right proportion as well, so you have some for each and every bite. Sometimes though, I just enjoy having the broth and noodles alone topped with bean sprouts and basil-the taste is just that good. I like to order it just pho tai-no brisket. I always like to think I'm the only one who knows about this spot, but the busy lunchtime crowd proves me wrong each time. It's no wonder I don't mind driving 55 minutes (each way) to dine here. Even the employees who aren't related to the owner, like bubbly and friendly Liz, treat everyone like family, welcoming you to their home. It's a small shop so a little patience goes a long way. Many of the unique non-traditional menu items like the Sate Pho and Bun Bo Hue are actually family recipes. (I really liked the Sate Pho but can't pry myself from the regular pho) If you want the place that maintains the tradition of how their mother and grandmother before them made the food (in the sense of "if it was good enough for them it's good enough for me!") then this is the spot. Had lunch here last weekend with my two kiddos , I had been wanting to try them for a long time. I even went the weekend before on Sunday and it was an hour after it had said it had open but unfortunately they were closed. Not sure if it was a flock or if they just haven't updated their sign, which says they are only closed Monday's. It's a small space and clean. The server we had was really sweet , she did have a hard time when we went to ring out . Not sure if it was the system or her but it worked out. My oldest got the shrimp pad Thai $15, it's a good size portion. Was a bit on the sweet side, which was different , but still good. She also wanted to try the tar milk tea with boba $5 , the taro was good but the boba was not ! I am sorry guys but it's hard to explain, it was like a crunch like factor to it. Not sure if it was old or what. I got the grilled pork and egg roll with rice vermicelli $16, the veggies were fresh and it is a big portion. The pork was tender, a little fatty but still yummy. The fish sauce was good but I think it was slightly watered down. We also got the French fries $8, which was good but more for my little guy. Even though he did enjoy the vermicelli noodles a lot too. beefiest broth I've had in a long time. that's not a bad thing but it did catch me by surprise. I enjoyed it quite a bit. the meat was perfectly tender and had such great flavor. food was five stars. service was fine. no complaints there. the seats were very flimsy and bendy lol. Com Pho Bamboo is the top Vietnamese option in the Woodward Park area. They have generous portions and quick service. For the food: The egg rolls come piping hot and are the perfect appetizer to split with the table. The Pho broth is flavorful and comes with all the toppings (bean sprout, Thai basil, lime, jalapeño). I prefer P2 - steak & brisket. Dinner plans had changed and we ended up here at Com Pho Bamboo and everyone definitely enjoyed their dinners. Sadly with the pandemic, we still see that places are still short staffed and I'm glad our server was still handling all the amount of customers including our table with great service! My girlfriend and I ordered the popcorn chicken, bacon fried rice, and pork and shrimp spring rolls. The popcorn chicken came out fresh and tasty what I loved was the fried basil in it! The spring rolls were super yummy and prepared with the freshest ingredients and the sauce was absolute fire! Lastly the bacon fried rice, what I really enjoyed the most was how light and crispy the rice was, it's honestly the real way to make fried rice, with not a lot of soy sauce and fish sauce. I glowingly reviewed this great small Vietnamese cafe in late 11/19, then covid hit a few months later, and I moved much farther away, sadly lost contact for a while. Until a few days ago I only got take out sporadically there, darting in and out, hoping they'd weather the storm, which was hitting small businesses especially bad. Thankfully, they did survive! It's still a small place but with new tables and decor, also the same fine servers and cooks, it seems, with the food still delicious. I ordered Vietnamese Iced Coffee first off then went with V3: Grilled Pork and Grilled Shrimp with Rice Vermicelli (what else?) They are definitely back and a treat is awaiting! read more

Good place for Vietnamese. The most unique thing that I have tried here was the Sate Pho. It wasn't something that I've seen at any other pho places I've tried before. The sate pho is more of a creamy spicy pho, and it is so good. The portion sizes at this restaurant are all generous. The small pho will fill most people up, and I couldn't imagine what the large would look like. There is usually only one lady in the front doing the serving, ringing up, and seating. read more

Decided to get a meat free dish today and my fiance and I went with the spicy pho sate with tofu (he added shrimp to his) and MAN, let me tell you how absolutely DELICIOUS it is. Comes with rice noodles, veggies, tofu in a spicy peanut coconut broth. Basil, finely chopped cabbage, bean sprouts and lemon on the side to add to it as you wish. Super filling, tasty. I love their pho here. Their broth is much better then a lot of the pho places in the Fresno area. I get the small veggie pho and it can feed two. Throw on an appetizer and you'll be quite full! The service was good. I follow the dietary laws of Leviticus, so I ordered a soup that was under a beef category. Guess what? the bowl of soup still came with pork in it.. you shouldn't have a soup labeled under chicken, beef, pork, etc. if it's gonna have other meats mixed in it. After I refuse a bowl because they had pork,they made me another bowl with beef and no pork and five minutes later they played the unholy song by Sam Smith while I was there with my family, my two baby boys and my daughter .. Also, they don't leave any condiments out for you to personalize your soup, which is part of the Pho experience. read more
