I had to get my car back on the road before the weekend was over so I couldn't wait for Amsoil to come in the mail. I found Colvin Motor Parts through the Amsoil website, gave them a call, , verified they had what I was looking for in stock (Severe Gear 75w-90), and drove over from Queens. When I arrived, I was surprised to see that they also carried other hard to find (as compared to the big chains) brands like Motul, Royal Purple, Evans Waterless Coolant, SEM, the list goes on. I was about to pick the wrong transmission fluid when one of the guys suggested a slightly different formulation (GL4 vs. GL5). I looked it up on my phone and lo' and behold he was right. I'm amazed at how hard it is to find Amsoil product in brick and mortar shops throughout the five boroughs. Tired of dealing with chain store parts salesmen who don't know a Nailhead from a Northstar or a Prius from a Prowler? Then Colvin Motors is the place for you to get your auto parts. Old School in nature, Colvin is what we used to call a "hard parts store", meaning that they carry and sell the tough stuff other stores don't. This place has experienced countermen, a complete paint and supply area as well as a full service machine shop all IN HOUSE! Colvin uses a network of warehouses to provide you parts quickly. I don't think I've ever waited longer than the next morning to get a part they didn't have in stock, and yes, the prices are competitive also. With many chain store parts places located locally (one right across the street), it's a testament to the quality and service provided that Colvin has remained in business. I'll give them, and the locally owned deli across the street my business over he big chains any day, as I've been doing since 1977. The only drawback to shopping at COlvin is the high customer volume during peak times, which makes waiting a necessity. Truthfully, the front end of the store is crammed with so much product they can't even open it up to speed up the purchasing process, and I guess I'm Ok with that in the long run. read more

This place is by far one of the best places to come to if you need parts for your car or truck .
