My husband and I absolutely love Columbus Valet. The dry cleaning is fantastic. They've been able to get years old stains out of my shirts and dresses. My husband takes all of his button downs. I brought in a wedding dress that had tons of coffee and makeup stains from three years ago and they were able to remove every single stain. Excellent cleaners. Came here every week for a couple months, never disappointed. Staff is friendly and courteous, they remember you and your name after just a few times, and you don't need to keep any receipts. Prices are very reasonable, $1/lb for laundry - competitive prices for shirts and coats. Definitely helpful in determining whether things need special treatment or not. Laundry service is as good as can be, drop it off anytime up to 8pm and they'll have it done by noon next day - can't be beat timing or price (unless you're lugging your stuff to Chinatown). Open till 6pm on Saturdays and 8pm on weekdays, which is huge if you're trying to make it back from a day at the office. Closed Sundays. Never messed up a shirt or a laundry item. No 'express' service for shirts/pants (ie same-day etc that other places have), so that might matter for some, but not essential for me. That itself may be -1 star for some. Most horrible service. The employees are rude and the owner has no sense of customer service. They spoil clothes. Last time there was a big hole in my shirt. when i went back to them they first accepted that they probably used excess chemicals, but later they denied and instead of paying for the shirt they even refused to refund the dry-cleaning amount. They had spoilt the buttons of my other dress too and the same thing . If there could be a negative rating I would have chosen that. read more

Columbus Valet is hands down the best laundry service on the UWS. I get pick up and delivery approximately once per week and have been using them for 3 years now. They are super fast, friendly and offer a very reasonable price for a superior service. I get one bag of hang dry every week and they are always very gentle with my delicate pieces. They have never lost or ruined anything; everything is really handled with care. I have also used them for alterations from time to time and have always been happy with the result. I opened up my wash and fold and found in addition to underwear and tshirts, 4 shrunk dress shirts! The laundry rewashed the shirts in cold water, hung dry to stretch them out, then sent to the shirt press. They're back to normal size again, so good save! read more

I used this cleaner for the entire 5 years I lived in the neighborhood. I only used for wash and fold but that was only because I already had a favorite dry cleaner nearby. I found their wash and fold service reasonably priced, friendly, and easy to deal with. They were late picking up my laundry a couple times but thats likely because one guy seems to do all their pick up and drop offs! He's so sweet and very nice! Given they never ruined or misplaced any laundry during the 5 years I went there and that they were so pleasant to deal with I'd give them 5 stars! I will miss them now that I'm downtown! read more

DO NOT USE THEM. I had two hampers that weren't even very full and they insisted that I had 40 pounds of laundry after they delivered it back to me. Obviously I wasn't going to argue, so I gave the delivery guy 45 bucks and sent him on his way. When I opened up my laundry, the clothes were folded, but none were sorted, my socks and underwear laid at the bottom of the piles in a jumble, and one of the hooks on my bra looked like it had gotten tangled on something and after yanking, was pulled out of its stitchings. My robe was also missing the tie that goes around it, so now I can't even use my robe anymore. I assumed that these were just typical laundry casualties, and didn't think too much of it. It wasn't until today, after taking my laundry in to Poly Cleaners, did I realize how much Columbus Valet sucked. I talked to my roommate afterwards (who went to P&K) and she had the same amazing experience with them as I did with Poly. All of our clothes were folded, sorted, and socks were even matched. Not a single piece of item was harmed in the process. Never again will I be using Columbus Valet. Complete scam. read more

If there was an option for negative stars they would deserve it. Long story short, how would you like to receive your laundry back with a contractor's bootprints in the middle of your only 5 times used bedding sheet? Neither did I , this led to a quick visit to the laundromat ... The Owner is impossible to reach and the staff is not responsible for anything but actually insisted that I made the bootprints myself ... My suggestion to them was to act like a Professional service and to apologize for what happened. This brought a funny response "sorry for what?!" .... I now understand that this is their standard for this service! Be aware, they also claim that they have washers that swallow socks and send them down the drain! All I know is that I now own many socks without a mate. The choice is yours but after two years I am done with them! read more

STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR CLOTHES! This is the worst place I've dealt with in NYC. Granted, it's a crapshoot when you leave your clothes for wash-n-fold and / or dry cleaning. However, they lost so many of my garments, gave me others that didn't belong to me and cut some nice side eye when asking for a receipt, e.g. holding you to NOT losing my garments that the convenience wasn't worth the risk. The Hours of Operation aren't that great, but the people are nice. Separate your dry cleaning from wash in different bags or they'll ruin your suit pants. I've had two pairs ruined. The delivery hours aren't that great and they often forget things. read more

We used them once after moving to the area and they did not had our clothes ready on the time they said they would, I had to go to their store up to 3 times until they finally had our clothes ready. Gave them a second chance and the second time they promised same day laundry which they did not deliver and for our dry cleaning I had to call in because they didn't deliver either when they said they would. Feeling pretty frustrated with them. I do NOT recommend them and I will not be using them anymore. read more

I have been using Columbus Valet for over 20 years. Since I have been disabled I am no longer able to do my own laundry. Columbus is always willing to pick up and then re-deliver to me. If you call for pick up before 11AM...you can get same day service ...and your washed clothes can be delivered to you by 4PM or 5PM. The only thing they request that you make certain you are home when they come to deliver to you. I used to call them as late at 6PM after work..and they would come right away. They are very efficient. Their prices are fair and moderate. The only objection I have is that they charge $20 to wash a large queensize comforters. And, they charge extra for washing small bathroom rugs. I think charging $20 to wash a comforter is outrageous. And, although they need to use an oversize machine....and have to take longer to dry it....how do you justify charging such a high price. It is actually cheaper for me to have the comforter cleaned by a professional. But, that is my only objection. Otherwise, you will have good service for your weekly wash. read more
