After picking up my trousers the woman was exceedingly rude. When I said good morning she never responded if she spoke she still did not respond as she was on the phone. She asked me for my telephone number so I said so you do speak English. I gave her my telephone number. I recently used Ply Cleaners and, unfortunately, had a frustrating experience. When I dropped off my items, I was given a price, and based on that price i decided to leave my items. But when I picked them up, I was charged more. I complained but they just said that the price i was given was a mistake. Totally unethical, bait and switch move! Bought a wonderful coat from Central Park Resale and wanted to get my new preloved coat a shiny new start so took it here. Asked for a few buttons to secured and there were a couple of seam holes in the pockets that needed mending. $125 paid in advance got me no mending at all and my coat had a weird layer of what felt like hair spray all over it. When we brought it back the two men inside started shouting "no" at me, told me they don't repair stuff for free. We demanded to speak to the woman that I originally spoke with, a day later my husband took the coat back and spoke with her. She was very apologetic and remembered me, said she would fix. I'm okay with giving someone a chance to fix but the coat was picked up and again nothing was corrected. I've since taken it to another cleaners for cleaning and will do the mending myself. I'm new enough to New York that I'm still in discovery mode (TBH, I'm always in discovery mode). read more

I use this cleaners for all of my dry cleaning, clothes washing and shirt pressing - but only recently used them for mending a favorite coat. I was worried - because this was my treasuered Moncler and I wanted it to be perfect again. They wanted to review the coat with their seamstress and would get back to me. They said they could only fix the tear and the seam that came undone, not the broken zipper. I knew it would be a tough job - however - when I went to pick up the coat - the zipper was fixed. 100% perfect. I could not believe it. It was a Tuesday evening. I was getting married that Saturday. I just left a (recommended) tailor that butchered and stained my wedding dress, and when I asked him to fix it, he asked if I had another dress. I didn't. Despite the prospect of looking like Holly Hobbie at my own wedding, I was determined to be a clean Holly Hobbie, and get the stains out. I took the dress to Poly Cleaners, who have done our laundry for two years. I walked in, desolate, and asked them if they could clean it, and perhaps shrink it a bit in the cleaning process so I'd look like I had a waist? Two minutes later, I had the dress on as the couple swooped over me with pins, marking the dress for alterations. A silk wedding dress cleaned and altered in three days? No problem! On Friday afternoon, they delivered the dress directly to our apartment. The stains were gone, and I had a waist! I had a waist! Poly Cleaners saved the day - all for just over $100. Bless their hearts. Poly Cleaners' laundry service is good, too. The price is right, they pick up and deliver to your door, and I occasionally get someone else's thong as a bonus. (No, I don't wear it, you perv.) I wish they'd fold towels lengthwise so you could put them directly on the towel rack, but the unfolding is totally worth it. Gone are the days where I do my own laundry!!!! (At least when I am here in NYC) Local cleaners on the UWS that does the following: picks up your laundry, cleans it, folds it into the tightest most perfect folds, and delivers it to your doorstep. ALL IN THE SAME DAY. In fact, I just needed to call them 5 minutes before I got home to let them know I'd be there and they could deliver it then. Don't think it gets any better than that? I hardly give reviews, let alone bad reviews. I normally just let things go. However, this incident was soooo bad, I can not let this go. If you want to get ripped off, treated poorly and lied to - then this is the place. First of all, the owner is beyond RUDE! He yells at you before you can even say anything. Second, they lie on delivery time! When I called this morning for pick up he said he can't promise 5:00 but 5:30ish, which I was fine with. 6:00 rolls around and no laundry, I called the owner and said he made a mistake and my stuff will be delivered tomorrow. I told no you said today. Then he said he'll call me back. When he called back he said I won't get my laundry until 6:30-7:00. I told him I needed my stuff as soon as possible as I'm waiting for a shirt that I was going to wear to a dinner tonight. Then, he yells at me saying "I never promise you that it would be delivered today." Which is false because that's the only reason why I've agreed to the pickup. 7:00 comes and I get a call saying that the delivery guy is on his was. I've asked him how much and he said $24. Here's my third problem with this place. They charge $.95 per lbs. and if my laundry was actually 24 lbs, it should have been only $22.80. My laundry was 15 lbs at max. And when I've got my laundry the slip said deliver by 6:00. It was 7:15 when I got my laundry. DON'T use this service. I had bad laundry service before when living in BK. But this is far beyond bad, horrible but see how poor the services and bad business practices they provide to you upfront, I can't imagine what they do to your laundry when you're not there. read more

Wow, after reading the positive reviews we actually thought we had found the perfect cleaners. This was the third place we go to in UWS but unfortunately its more of the same horrible customer service. We sent laundry and dry cleaning and got some clothes back dirty. When we complained, they insisted we go to the store in person and file a complaint. In NY where the one thing we want is someone to make our lives easier, not harder, this isn't really a solution. To make matters worse, we found clothes in our laundry that wasn't even ours - getting us thinking that how much of our own clothes has been given to other people? Poly Cleaners has been around for years but has new owners as of about a year ago. They are fantastic, nice, and fair. They do great dry cleaning, have great prices for wash and fold, and quick pick up and delivery (great for dirty non doorman dwellers). The wash and fold is not the fastest in the neighborhood, but the price is right, and it's super easy with a credit card account for auto-billing. read more

Like a lot of people on the UWS, I don't have laundry in my building, so I crossed my fingers and hoped that given how close they are to me, they would do a good job so I wouldn't have to drag heavy laundry bags any farther than necessary. My items have always been returned clean and in great condition. Terrible customer service. Dishonest. Beware! I had an expensive blouse cleaned by Poly and it was returned to me completely ruined. Something must have happened to the ruffled sleeves during cleaning, because when I got it back, someone attempted to re-stitch the area with a cheap black thread. I have worn the blouse dozens of times and the sleeves were completely ruined! Nothing like they used to be. I brought the blouse back to them and they claimed it was impossible because they didn't have that kind of thread. They accused me of lying. I think I would know how one of my favorite blouses is supposed to fit, and how the ruffle sleeves were haphazardly mended. Ruined my blouse and day. Beware!! read more

I get my laundry back in the same day if I go and drop it off before I head to work ( I believe before 9:30/10a) and dry cleaning usually about 2/3 days. Although I had one issue where my laundry was returned with purple ink all over it - I called them and they came back and returned it the same day drew of charge with all stains out. The manager even called me the next day to ensure I was satisfied with the result and again so sorry for the issue. Poly's didn't do the right thing to rectify a situation that we brought up to them. After they delivered our laundry and dry cleaning, we noticed they over charged us or mixed our laundry to dry cleanings, over charged us for items that were supposed to be laundered and they took it upon themselves to do that. For example, they charged use $40 for a comforter clean when we threw that in our laundry bag. For a $3 lb comforter, we got charged $40 bucks. Our previous laundry place never dry cleaned it. Common Sense. They also put my slips in dry cleaning when it's clearly laundry. They returned it WITHOUT plastic. Not that professional. When we called them back, instead of rectifying it. They said that's the prices we charged and didn't even try to work with us. We called three times and the lady would stonewall us. She hung up on us when we told her the situation and they didn't take any responsibility what so ever, not even returning the dry cleaning back to us in plastics. Makes you think whether or not they actually cleaned it. We will never come back there again. read more

I take my laundry here weekly, I've had stuff dry cleaned and I've also gotten things tailored here. The staff are very friendly. My laundry always comes back clean, smelling good, nicely folded. They got some stains out of my dry cleaning which I thought was great. The only thing I don't like is sometimes it takes a few days before it gets done. I've also asked for things to be ready in the morning and they put 5pm on my ticket and I've gone at 3pm and it's not ready yet. So keep that in mind. read more

Absolutely amazing. Dropped my laundry off in the morning, and when I got home from work today, everything was done. They weigh it when you get there so you know from the start how much you'll be paying. Plus you can pay by credit card, which makes my life a lot easier. When I got my laundry back, I opened up the bag, and to my surprise even my socks were matched! My clothes were also sorted (underwear was all placed together, so were my sports bras, shorts, etc.). Now this doesn't seem like much but compared to Columbus Valet, this was totally worth the trip to drop off my laundry myself. Now I'm also pretty sure I got ripped off last weekend when I called Columbus Valet for pickup/dropoff of my laundry (where they left my socks in a jumble, and also destroyed one of my bras...), but no matter. This place is great. It is pricey, but great. I took in a dress to be taken in at the under-bust, since the tailor wasn't in at that time the owner pinned the dress. The next day I received a text from them asking me to come back because the tailor wanted to see the dress on me before doing any work (the dress was made of a pretty delicate fabric and had some detailed folds). I came in the next day and the tailor gave me options about what I could do, but ultimately recommended that I return the dress (luckily the tags were still on). Even though I was initially annoyed about going back to try on the dress again, but then I realized it was just Poly Cleaners wanting to provide an excellent service. I have also hemmed dress pants and taken in another dress to get fitted. read more

I was loving going to this place until we started to notice a few pieces of laundry missing each time. Nothing major, a tank top and then a pair of underwear, until we sent in our towels and only received half of them back. I called to ask about it and they were BEYOND rude, to the point where I ended up more mad that they refused to apologize and kept blaming me for their mistake then I ever was about the towel. So when I brought back a sweater that had not been properly cleaned (literally, the food was still on it!) and they insisted on charging me again, I walked out the door. I used to think that this laundry service was fantastic. However, I recently had my laundry done here and to my surprise, my sweatshirt was missing from my laundry when it was returned. I called and spoke to the owner about it and he told me that because it was part of the wash and fold service, he could not compensate me. Or even give me any sort of credit for future laundry service. I am very disappointed in not only the fact that such a large item could go missing from the laundry service but also in the way in which they responded to me. I've been using Poly Cleaners for the past year and never had a problem. I'm not sure if management changed or if their standards have just dropped drastically. I recently received my dry cleaning and it seemed like none of the items were cleaned properly. One blouse was particularly apparent so I sent it back without placing blame. I just wanted it redone. I received a call from the lady and the first thing she does was accuse me of wearing the shirt in the last 12 hours. I told her she was being rude and that there would be no reason for me to do that. She basically continued to argue with me and tried to place the blame on me, when all I asked for was for her to clean it again. They are pretty pricey, especially when they send clothes back to their customers that appear to be steamed but not cleaned. They have definitely lost my patronage - just terrible quality and customer service. read more

This company is wonderful. We have been using them for 4 years for laundry and dry cleaning (our building doesn't have laundry). They do a good job and are reasonably priced for the quality of service, which includes free pickup and delivery. The best thing about this company, though, is the customer service -- they owners remember who you are when you call, the delivery person, Angel, is an incredibly nice guy, and the company does nice things like replace your laundry bag when it starts to get tattered.
