Always friendly, do a great job on dry cleaning, laundry and simple tailoring. I have been going there for years without complaints..

I've used this dry cleaner a number of times and have been basically happy. The woman is always nice. This time I needed someone altered. I had a new pair of trousers that were too long. I brought them in and the tailor wasn't in. I explained to the woman that I needed them taken up by 1/2 inch. I specifically said Do Not Cut because I don't like when tailors cut when something needs to be taken up. I showed her what I wanted. Again, I said 1/2 inch. I went to pick up the other day and paid $25. When I got them home I tried on and realized that the tailor let down the hem by 1/2 inch so they were actually longer - now by a 1 inch. I brought them back with the receipt and showed both of them. The tailor pointed to the hem line to prove he did the right thing. I kept trying to tell him that he did the opposite of what I needed. The fact that you could see the previous hem line was proof since if he had made the pants shorter - as I requested - you wouldn't be able to see the previous hem line. Still, they refused to offer to redo them or offer me a refund. I found it kind of amazing. I filed a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs and the BBB. I realize their English isn't great but I was very clear with my instructions. Won't use them again. read more

I've been coming here for the better part of a year now for their dry cleaning and wash & fold service, and have never had a problem. The owners- at least I'm assuming it's the owners, as it's the same older Asian couple every time I go in- are friendly and polite and they do good work. What more can you ask for from a laundry service? Added bonus: since it's the same people every time I go, they recognize me and we chit chat about our days as they ring me up. It gives the whole place that neighborly sort of feel that is so comforting when you're entrusting someone with your favorite dress. For wash & fold, they have a six-pound minimum and charge $0.90 a pound, $6.00 for less than 6 pounds. I've never had anything come back stained, shrunken, or damaged in any way. Plus they speak English pretty well, so whenever I need to leave something with special instructions, like pointing out a stain or dropping off a load that is to be left damp, everything is followed to a T. Their turnaround time is good, too- drop off before work in the morning, pick up on my way home. Dry cleaning takes between two and three days and cost is average as far as dry cleaning goes. Again, they do a great job and I have no qualms about handing over some of my most expensive or delicate pieces. They also have a tailoring service, which I have never used (hence the four stars instead of five, since I haven't utilized all their services). But I've noticed many people in there getting fitted, and seen the adorable old man sitting at the sewing machine in the window working away. **EDIT: Open Monday-Friday 7a-7p, Saturday 8a-6p, closed Sunday. read more

Highlights - Fast - Free Delivery / Pickup - Reasonably Priced - Great Service I've tried a few different places in the neighborhood, and Young Cleaners has consistently been the best. I've use them monthly for dry-cleaning for almost two years now, and I've never (knock on wood) had any problems with them losing or damaging any of my items. I've also had a few things altered there, and they did a great job. They are extremely nice people. I highly recommend!! read more

Finally! Have found my go-to tailoring and dry-cleaning place in NYC. Have come to depend on them for all types of clothes alterations to suit my petite frame. The couple who own the business are adorable and friendly, and charge a fair price for decent quality work. For the most part, have been very happy with the alterations. They really get to know their customers, and remember faces and stories. Glad to find such friendly service so nearby. read more

They also ruined a bunch of my clothes by not being careful enough. Since that experience I am always extra careful in giving instructions to the other laundromats I use. However I don't think lack of instructions excuses them, since this is their business, part of which is not destroying our clothes. Also, they only do pick up and deliver if you have a doorman? Hm... read more

I brought in two pairs of slacks and a jacket for alterations. They were very nice to work with and completed the work timely. I'll have my future alterations done there read more

Good local cleaners in the neighborhood. Been going here for a while. I'm not sure why others would dock stars over minor niggles and complaints. For me, personally, it did take a while to find a replacement cleaners when two of my old ones went out of business. Thanks you for the year of service!!! read more

We used Young Cleaners last week and they destroyed a bunch of our clothes. Polyester or elastic material got melted. Do they used blow torches to dry? Plus it took two days to get our laundry back because of some drizzle. What do they do in winter? Will not be using them again. read more

My favorite laundry place. Their service is great and the price is cheap! Just got my pants hemmed and they look fantastic. Also, compared to other laundry places in Upper West Side, they get the job done very fast. The Young Cleaners are always friendly and welcome me with a smile :) read more

I just tried their laundry services for the first time and they melted my clothes. Anything with elastic or polyester is now hard and twisted. Totally destroyed. I will not be using them again. read more

Very nice people and very nice service. Kept finding other people's clothes (socks, pants, and sometimes even underwear) with mine on a weekly basis. Really want to like this place but the same thing keeps happening over and over again. I'm not sure how many pieces of clothing I've lost here. read more

Great, fast service. Always arrive when they say they will. Always fold laundry well. Highly recommended.

The tailor here made a completely new seam in the back of my shirt without asking. The pins he used to mark how much to take in also left visible holes in the shirt. He told me I was crazy and that I was seeing things. They don't care at all about making sure their customers are happy with the end product. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! read more

After five years of bad to middling experiences with dry cleaners in Manhattan, I was thrilled to find Young Cleaners. I literally cannot say enough good things about this business. They are friendly and professional, quick, and reasonably priced. When I call for pickup/delivery, someone is at my apartment within 10 minutes, every time - KEY for people who only have half an hour in the morning before leaving for work. I have had quite a number of items altered here - dresses, pants, jeans, and jackets - and they've done a great job at a good price. Overall, Young Cleaners is a fantastic business and really stands out from the sea of mediocre dry cleaners. read more

Have been a customer for nearly 10 years. Have only used them for dry cleaning and tailoring. Probably had more buttons crushed and destroyed on shirts than I should have tolerated but always gave them a pass. However the other day they absolutely destroyed a shirt of mine. It came back with what looked like a bleach stain on it. When I spoke to them in person about it (they sent it back without communicating any issue) they claimed that the damage was there when I dropped it off to them. The whole left side of the shirt is ruined and I would have noticed it was ruined if I had ruined the shirt myself. I find it pretty over the top that they would allege I some how managed to get a bleach stain on a dress shirt without noticing, or that I would have noticed the shirt was ruined and tried to send it to them for cleaning only to turn around to blame the damage on them. I have probably spent 6-7K on cleaning services there over the years and they did not even care to offer anything other than to blame me for the damage to the shirt. The shirt cost over 100 dollars but I would have been fine with an apology and a credit for a fraction of that amount. I had referred this place to others but will never be back. This is a service business how can you just not care about your customers ... it's appalling. read more

I never thought I'd take my laundry to get it done but I'm glad that I've chosen Young's cleaner. Their service is quick, the folding is impeccable and the price is right. In addition, the employees (or perhaps the owners) are very friendly. I am always pleased with all their services. read more

They don't deliver. REALLY? I have never heard of a cleaners that doesn't. No clue how we are supposed to get all that home. Mystified that people would give them decent reviews when there are a dozen dry cleaners that deliver within 3 blocks. read more

I got a dress altered here and they did a great job. It was done quickly within a few days and I'm happy with the result. Highly recommend.

I purchased a very delicate silk dress for my cousin's wedding and took to Yelp to find somewhere to tailor it at a reasonable price. I sent out estimate requests as well as stopped by a few dry cleaners with tailoring services. Young cleaners was my second to last stop and gave me the best price by far. Every other place made it sound like it was a super complicated and expensive job and the fact that the tailor at Young Cleaners made it seem like it was no big deal, in all honesty made me at first apprehensive. But I ended up leaving my dress there (after they made me grudgingly come back another day with the shoes I plan to wear with the dress). A few days later I came to pick up my dress and it was impeccably tailored. Not only that, but the lovely woman behind the counter as well as the tailor both remembered me and exactly what I came for. I was REALLY impressed not only by the quality of their work but how dependable they were and so careful to get everything right. I resolved to write this review because I think they deserve that recognition. Definitely give them a try! And thank you again! read more

Probably the friendliest people I've ever met. They're extremely fast and courteous and always accommodating of my sometimes rushed requests. I have no hesitation to use them for any of their services! read more
