We had a great experience with Peninsula Pack and Move. This was a challenging move with a…read moredifficult house to move out of and into, and the crew handled it professionally from start to finish. The team worked efficiently and packed the truck expertly--everything was secure, and nothing was broken or damaged, which really speaks to their care and experience. Toward the end of the move things did slow down a bit, but we were also coming up on nearly seven straight hours of work, so that was completely understandable. By the end, most of the large furniture items were placed inside the house as requested, and the majority of the boxes were left neatly in the garage, which will make unpacking fairly manageable. Overall, great service, strong work ethic, and a crew that clearly knows what they're doing. I would absolutely recommend Peninsula Pack and Move, especially for more complex moves.

I would NOT recommend this company! I was quoted $175 hourly for a 28' truck and 3 guys and a…read moreminimum of two hours. An additional $50 was disclosed after they showed up. The workers were not efficient with packing the truck, layering things, one layer deep and then taking an unpacked load. This happened not once but twice, stretching out the hourly rate they were making. They did not hook up my washer and dryer as I was told they would and they damaged two pieces of furniture without disclosing they had. We ended up having to rent a U-Haul truck for two more days to finish what they weren't able to finish and this was after we had already packed a PODS container to the max in our driveway. So the stuff they were responsible for moving was mainly furniture. This is not the first time I have moved a moving company in Monterey County and so I had an idea of approximate cost and time. This company milked the clock, costing me more than twice what the move cost the previous time. At one point while moving some furniture at my old place, one of the movers voiced that he had stolen a piece of candy from me. I didn't think it was any big deal and laughed it off, but it made me wonder why he would do that and if he had done it before. When I attempted to contact the owner, David, I left a message, letting him know that I had issues and wanted to talk to him and rather than calling me back, he text me to tell me that he was really busy and that he was able to text. I would assume that being a local company wanting to make a great name, he would've contacted me back to figure out what happened and how he could make things better. The lack of upfront communication carelessness, and the fact that they took advantage of the situation is unacceptable. I expected better. If I could leave zero stars, I would. The service provided on June 27, was not $2500 worth. Do NOT book this company.

I'm in…read morethe military, so we've moved domestic to overseas and vice-versa many times, but this is the first time we've had two different companies for packing and driving. The packing company (a local company, not Poulos) did an "okay" job on the first day, but the guys from Poulos absolutely knocked it out of the park on the second day. Brian was at the house ready to go before I even arrived, right at the beginning of the "arrival window" at 0800. He and Cristian started off strong, and as the day went, Nathan and many more team members showed up and seamlessly integrated into the flow (Josh, Octavio, Chris, Emanuel, Luis, and both Davids -- apologies if i missed anyone!). The guys clearly understand the importance of being professional and personable, and everyone was courteous and respectful of our house and property. They worked quickly and efficiently as a team and had everything loaded and ready to ship by 1630. Moving with the military is always stressful, but Brian and his team went above and beyond to make this as easy for us as possible. This was the best interaction I've had with a moving company in 15 years of service. They have my highest recommendation, and will be my preferred TSP in the future. Great job guys!

Immanuel constantly asked if I was satisfied with the process, if I had any questions, and if there were any things I wanted to change/fix. I've moved 3 times so far as a military member and this was by far the best moving experience!

We are now forced to dispute the charges through our credit card company and file complaints with federal regulators. What Went Wrong 1. Massive Billing Errors & Overcharges Original contract: $7,284.89 (later adjusted to $7,194.78 based on actual weight) They charged us $10,244.04 on July 25th - nearly $3,000 MORE than the entire contract amount Added an unauthorized $650 charge on July 27th for repacking services we explicitly declined via email Issued an incomplete refund of $6,509.08, leaving us overcharged by $1,575.18 They admitted to the billing errors but have not corrected them 2. Broken Delivery Guarantee Contract explicitly stated: "guaranteed delivery within 5-11 days from pickup." They delivered on day 12, forcing our family with two small children to sleep on air mattresses and eat takeout because we had no kitchen supplies. There was no apology, no compensation, and no accountability. 3. Complete Communication Breakdown Promised on pickup day (July 16th) that we'd receive delivery scheduling information Went completely silent between July 18-25 despite our calls As a family moving cross-country with small children, we had no idea when to expect our belongings Had to repeatedly call just to get vague "within 11 days" responses 4. Management Refuses to Respond After the billing disaster, I attempted to resolve directly with manager Justin Jenkins - who is the CEO's son. I have had to pro actively reach out to him every day for over two weeks and nothing has been. He promised to put me in touch with the CEO which has not happened. We are 2 months past the move and they still have our money. A few days before our move-out, Murphy's sent someone over to our home to take an inventory of how much stuff we had. They arrived at the time they stated they would be there, and not a minute later. It was a good first impression. On the day of the move out, Murphy's sent 3 movers: Saul, Mikey, and I don't remember the 3rd guys name (I feel so bad because all 3 guys were fantastic). They arrived exactly on time, and spent the WHOLE DAY packing our belongings. The movers were friendly, professional, treated our belongings with care. Every single item was tagged and written down on the inventory sheet. They disassembled items and had a whole box dedicated to parts, each set of pieces individually wrapped and labeled for us to easily reassemble them upon our arrival at our new home. While packing our belongings, they made sure to ask and make note of sentimental/valuable items. Saul went ahead and wrote down each serial number for each expensive electronic item they packaged (TV, microwave, desktop computer, etc). Upon arriving at our new duty station, not a SINGLE ITEM was broken or damaged apart from a light bulb and our cat tree that got bent. Every single item on the inventory sheet was accounted for. This was our first ever PCS so Murphy's was an excellent first taste of DoD contracted movers. We were really pleased with Mikey, Saul and the 3rd mover they sent out to us. They have a contract with the military-I recommend service members to ask for a change of carriers if they receive Murphy's Movers. If you are not a service member, do yourself a favor and find another company. I spoke with DAVID who allowed his team to leave my residence without fulfilling his obligation of unpacking my boxes and assembling my furniture. They showed up without the tools or intent to do so. UNACCEPTABLE. Given the opportunity to fix his errors, he preferred to deny the error, yell at me, and hang up. Very disappointed.
