I was surprised at what a good experience I had with a body shop after I was rear-ended on I95. Other shops scared me by warning me that the other driver's insurance company would be a nightmare to work with. Columbus expressed confidence that everything would be fine, and it was. They've been in business for generations and I can see why. They know their stuff and are very helpful and professional. Gave me a ride to the train station when I dropped off my vehicle. Vin was friendly and clearly takes pride in his work. It's a local shop that's been around for 85 years in his family, and everyone at the shop was courteous and professional. Vin drove me home (downtown) after I dropped off my car, and when I picked my car up, of course I was very happy with the job they did to get my car looking nice again. I cannot say enough about the wonderful people at Columbus Auto Body. They did great work on my car, everyone was friendly, and the work was completed on time. What really makes me rave about their incredible service is Keith going out of his way to fight a rental car company on my behalf. They picked up the car three days late and want to charge for me some damage that occurred after I returned the vehicle. Keith looked over the car when I returned it and found no damage so he was more than willing to call the insurance company himself and take my side. Amazing service! Vinny is a great guy and really goes above and beyond. My bf, due to his work hours, had a difficult time trying to get his car in to be looked at. I called around a couple auto shop places and Columbus was the only one open on Saturdays. We weren't going to make it before he closed, but Vinny told us he would wait for us. How amazing is that? We dropped the car off, then Vinny drove us to Enterprise in his car so we could pick up a rental car. They also made the process of picking up your car simple. Columbus was closed when my bf went to pick up the car, but they were able to leave the keys next door at Columbus Towing. He was able to drop off the rental car there as well. Vinny also left a new Columbus Auto Body Works mug for us in the cup holder. What a nice surprise. I hear it's hard to find a good, honest mechanic, but I think we found one in Vinny. Vinny told us about the history of the family business, which his grandpa opened in the 20s. Definitely ask about that, it's fun to hear. Columbus has been around for a long time and it's easy to see why. I can't say it enough, they are amazing! I'm so impressed with them. read more

Tow driver hooked up to my car despite no "no parking" signs visible from location. Demanded payment before unhooking car, I paid without argument, but asked where the no parking sign is. He pointed to a sign over half a block away, and after I asked if he thought it was reasonable that I should be able to see a sign that far away, he cursed at me and started to drive away, stopping several times to curse some more. Typical rip off towing company, making money the dishonest way. read more

Brought in our 2013 Sonata and they did an excellent job with the entire bumper which needed repair. They were good on their timing and communication. Being in a car accident is scary, and the whole process of getting one's car fixed can be a huge headache, but Vin and the other nice people at Columbus Auto made the whole experience as painless as possible, dealing with the insurance company for me, getting me a rental car and keeping me updated on the progress of repairs. (I even got a ride back to work!!! Thanks, Vin!) My car looked brand new when they were finished, and it has never been so clean!!! I know auto shops often get a bad rap, but everyone at Columbus was really friendly, and I trusted them with my car, and it looks great and has been running perfectly since then!!! On an aside, re: towing, I just wanted to say that it is the city who makes the parking rules and posts the signs, not the towing companies, and I know it sucks to get towed, but it really isn't the people at the towing companies who deserve the wrath. My friend's car was towed last year, and it sucked tracking it down and getting it, but the woman at Columbus Towing was as nice and efficient as possible. read more

Columbus quoted me a price that was about 60% above another shop but I ultimately went with Columbus due to the slightly sketchy vibe I got from their competitor. In the end Columbus delivered good service, a quick turn-around time and ended up charging me a final price that was only about 30% above the rate charged by the cheaper alternative. My car had the front bumper pulled off by piled up snow (that had melted a bit and then frozen solid), while pulling out of a parking spot. I saved the detached bumper (it came clean off!), and brought it to these guys. They quoted me a re-attachment fee of $175, which might increase if some of the parts are unsalvagable (the car is old). The place is within walking distance to the Med School, so I left it there one night. By the next noontime it was finished, as indicated...they had expertly and firmly reattached it, and reassembled and reconnected the two broken signal lights that I though for sure would need to be replaced, for not a penny more than the $175 quote. Fantastic, honest, timely service. I recommend them highly. read more
