I rolled into Cascade Locks exhausted and past check-in hours. The team at Columbia Gorge Inn welcomed me with open arms, honored my PCT discount, and got me settled quickly. The inn is clean, the room cozy, and the staff genuinely caring. The location could not be better, right on the riverwalk and next to the PCT and Bridge of the Gods. After a long, dusty day on trail, this place felt like a true haven. Five stars all the way. Thanks again. I will be back. read more

What a pleasant surprise as we couldn't find any pics online but decided to take a chance! From time of check in to check out the manager was very friendly & helpful! This was just a nightmare. Dirty and dingy. Curtains too long so they just scissored the bottom and didn't hem. Top of curtains not attached to hooks. Broken drawer pulls. Back of bathroom door partially missing. Afraid to shower there. Awful. Did I mention awful? read more

Why 5 Stars? Safety: I was traveling with my sister and two females alone made me nervous. Upon checkin the manager was friendly, helpful, discussed safety and the sheriff comes by etc. Amenities/Clean: The outside is nothing to write home about BUT the room was nice. King bed, clean, comfy, coffee pot, fridge, microwave and TV that worked and hair dryer. Hospitable: The manager was kind and talked to us about the trails that we could do, suggested restaurants, where to park, and more. When we mentioned we'd like to hike in the morning but still shower he allowed us to checkout at 3. Wow!!! Location: We went to Bridgeside for dinner which was a great choice with a fab salad bar and burgers looking at the bridge. We could have walked but drove instead. Grocery next door for milk and cereal in the morning and ice cream Across the street. We hiked by the bridgeside to the PCT trail and then drove across the bridge to Wind MT the next day. Super convenient! Highly recommend! read more

So this is definitely an older motel and the lobby is a dive. We paid 138 for a king room on the 4th of july.we knew it was high but it was worth not driving home after the fireworks. It was after midnight and every place we had been checking were booked. I was driving and let the wife use my phone app to find a hotel. She thought this one had four stars, she read thought we were pulling into a different hotel. I didn't check the details I was exhausted and just wanted some sleep. Yet I have to mirror the other reviewers from here. Rooms and hotel are old and tired, to bring things up to date they would have to spend some serious money or tear down and start from scratch. $80-ish a night sounds like a good price but the room was more like a $50 room, hope they're spending the extra money on a remodel. read more

When I considered the value of the place to the price I paid, it rates very high in my book. The young lady who checked us in was very nice and helpful, and worked with us on getting a second night at a fair price even though we had not planned for it. The price of the room was very good given the time of year. Though the room was simple, it was clean and comfortable. And the location was accessible to everything on foot. So even if this motel was not the fanciest place I've stayed in, I would definitely go back because of the overall value and the friendliness of the people who run it. read more

I've stayed here about a dozen times back when Jeff and his wife ran the show. Apparently it's under new management, but I'm sure they're doing just as well.... The owner and her family are good people. The inn has nice tile showers, comfortable queen sized beds, large TV's, and plenty of space. Many of the other guests are fisherman, so it's often very quiet and peaceful as everyone's simply trying to catch up on sleep......Cascade Locks doesn't have much to choose from in terms of businesses for dining or recreation, so the Columbia Gorge Inn happens to be conveniently located next to everything....and only footsteps away from the town's bar...The most exciting recreation within the area is probably across the bridge into Stevens, WA at Skamania Lodge..but even that is only couple minutes drive.....Also, although the price may seem a bit steep, it's a better alternative than the large expensive hotel down the road....I highly recommend this place. read more

This place is old, out dated, the office smells of smoke and old smoke combined. There are NO amenities. I paid 150.00 for a night....a room that was barely acceptable. The bathroom was a joke, sink around the corner. We wanted to give our business to a small town cozy hotel..... we will NOT be back. For a small town hotel, this place deserves high praise! (Newly remodeled interiors) We stayed here while part of a search and rescue attempt right outside Cascade Locks, Or. While most people went to the Best Western, we opted to go to the Columbia Gorge Inn (Motel). The people we met at the front dest were very kind and gave us some much needed positive energy when we went to the hotel at the end of every day. They said they had just remodeled the interior recently and it shows. Big flat-screen HD TVs, mini fridge, AC/Heat unit, microwave, hair dryer. All the little extras added to the comfort level. The exterior felt very small-town, but once they remodel the outside as well, this place will be all together a top notch hotel. The european style shower room was efficiently designed with just a curtain separating the toilet and shower portion, but we actually really liked the design and made the shower feel quite spacious. The shower still has a tub faucet and was imeasurably helpful for hikers who can enjoy a cascade of warm water on their feet. If we ever are in this part of Oregon again, this will be the first place we look for a room. read more

Yes, it is a motel. But I cannot believe we paid $125 for this dive. Nothing else was available (we were hoping to stay in Portland and this is the best we could last minute). The plus is amazingly fast WiFi. The minuses were pretty much everything else. Bugs, uncomfortable beds, questionable folks lingering in the parking lot. read more

This was also one of the WORST motels / hotels that I have ever stayed at. I was traveling through with some motorcycle buddies when we opted to stay here for a night. What a mistake. The floor was soaking wet, the furniture was just thrown into the room and the bathroom was just icky. Did I mention that we were traveling on motorcycles, our standards really aren't that high while on our bikes. When I confronted the mgr. in the morning he made no bones about how we ere getting what we were paying for, until I threatened to write an online review, then he gave us half our money back for both rooms. I stayed here last week and it was an awful experience. There was a toilet in the shower because there was no separation between the toilet and the shower except for a scummy curtain. The water spout was not attached to the wall so you had to hold it while you showered and it sprayed everywhere. The whole bathroom was soaking wet after one shower. The whole room was very old. The bed felt gross and it looked like the room was never cleaned. The t.v was extremely old and full of static we were better off not watching TV. The first thing we saw when we walked in the room were bugs. I completely don't recommend staying here. It was expensive for nothing. read more

Please don't stay here. I know it's cheap but you WILL regret it. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. (I left it up to my husband, which will never happen again, as he has apparently never heard of online reviews). The front desk person was friendly but utterly incompetent. The rooms are shabby. The furniture is clearly second hand (the ice bucket says Marriot on it), which is fine but at least clean the stains out of it and touch up the scratches and gouges. The bed had a white down comforter on it with no duvet, which at least appeared to be clean. The mirror had huge streaks across it. It looks like they spit on it and smeared it around a little. The AC/Heating unit sounds like a combination of Chinese water torture and someone crinkling up paper, and it's right next to the bed so even with earplugs in I could hear it. I even turned it off and unplugged it and it still kept making the noise. I think that they tried/are trying to fix the place up a little but they are clearly doing it DIY style and they're not succeeding. Oh yeah, if you want hot water at the sink you may have to turn it on yourself, we did. Someone needs to tell these people that in order to make money you have to spend money. read more

BUGS! Very poor experience. I arrived to the motel. Little rough looking on the outside and nothing special inside but the room looked fine so I was content. In the next 30 minutes I collected 6+ beetles the size across of a dime. Stink bugs. Big nasty things that leave a wicked odor if crushed or startled. These beetles were flying and crawling across walls, floors and ceiling. I tear through the room to try and find a source to no avail and just find more. Its late but I decide to leave so I take all the bugs I collected and head down stairs. I show the host and his immediate response is to tell me there's nothing he can do. So I tell him to cancel the room. I ask if the hotel would be willing to cover just the difference in cost of me moving to another place (in this case the Best Western down the road). I had booked three days. I asked him only to cover the difference (just the difference) in cost for 1 night and I would find my own solution thereafter. Bare in mind its getting late, he's not taking responsibility for his own infestation, and now I'm paying for a last minute room because he's not taking care of his place or at least acknowledging the problem. His approach to the situation was apparently that I should either switch rooms (not risking that) or sleep with the bugs (right). I hope whoever gets the room next enjoys the 6 pack of Coke I forgot in the fridge as a consolation prize. read more

Truth be told, this is not a luxury motel. Yuppies stay away. :) However, if you are value mined and truly appreciate a clean room with a decent night's rest: This is by far the cleanest motel I have stayed in for 20 years. That includes 5 star Vegas dumps. The outside is very simple and lacking in any allure whatsoever, but they have invested in personally taking care of the rooms and ensuring a comfortable stay. read more

We were very disappointed in this Inn. The staff was nice enough, but the place was not up to par. We couldn't get cold water out of the tap and had to forgo a shower. We reported the problem and were moved, but the new room had the same issue. The chair in the room was very dirty and the room not worth half of what we paid. I would discourage anyone from staying there. read more
