But fortunately for us since it was a holiday, street parking was all free (and close!)! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Loved the lobby vibes and decor. Felt traditional and historical, but upscale. Our room wasn't ready (we arrived around noon) but they did take our bags for safe keeping while we were out there enjoying the town. (When we came back to the hotel later that evening, they were already in the room which was nice!) The rooms are small, but that's not a dealbreaker for us. It was cozy and nicely updated. I loved the green paint color!!! Moody but modern! The spa was so quiet and peaceful. I loved the fact that the spa was adults only. Also loved having robes available to wear! It was all lovely! There weren't any services available by the time we got back. I wasn't expecting any services since we were only there for one night, but we definitely enjoyed our time at the spa and sauna. I wished they would allow guests to bring beverages down (in the plastic wine glasses supplied in the room). A beer in the spa would've been the perfect ending to the day! I highly recommend Lightwell. We really enjoyed our time there and will definitely be back!

Etc. Fortunately they provided an in room coffee maker and coffee with filters. The room (The Gorge Room) was ok, and had a Murphy bed (as advertised), but it sure felt like a full not a queen size. Very small. Also, again as advertised, the bathroom for this room is down the hall. This wasn't a problem and we expected it (again, as advertised). However, upon getting into the shower, both the diverter handle and water pressure/temp handle came right off! Fortunately, I was able to get both back into the slots internally and take showers, but that should definitely be fixed/replaced. Overall this is a very old property with lots of charming design and decor. Just be aware that this may come with challenges, and older reviews make it sound better than it is. It certainly isn't living up to its older reputation. It is also largely an unstaffed property. I did see a lady working in back and spoke to her briefly, but other than that, no one.

It was Labor Day weekend, and the nights had already been paid for. Let me start in order of events. Let me say this first, if it hadn't been a holiday weekend and we were in the area for a wedding we would have moved on to another hotel, probably without a refund. When we checked in was the first we knew about the $100. There wasn't much we could do but let them put a 'hold' which actually charged and processed it from the bank account. When we went to our room the floor was uneven, I set my rolling suitcase down, it rolled to the other side of the room. They advertised the following: Free Wireless Internet Available - We were not able to get on the internet the entire time we were there. This was very inconvenient. We tried on three different devices. Laundry Facilities - Luckily this was true, though I only saw it as we drove by, so I do not know the condition. Memory Foam Bedding in ALL Rooms - Notice they have capitalized ALL, well if we had memory foam in our room it had forgotten! They were terrible. Jet Tubs in many rooms - We didn't even have a tub let alone a Jet one. A VERY small bathroom with small shower. The bathroom was scary dirty. There was no place to set our toothbrushes and toiletries on. We opened the medicine cabinet, and it was filthy. The toilet was a round one and the seat oblong, so it hung over a few inches. The space between the seat and the tank was all filled with dirt and hair. It makes me sick to think we had to use it. It said they had a hair blower, they did not. The outlet in the bathroom did not even work. I had to plug my curling iron in, in the kitchen. The health department really does need to have a surprise inspection on this property The small kitchen was okay, we didn't really use it. They only had a small garbage can in there and one in the bathroom. We ended up leaving a sack full by the can in the kitchen so as not to leave our wrappers or anything around. The place was left as we found it. When we got home, I called to talk to them about the $100 it took me and my daughter two days to actually get someone to answer the phone. No answering machine, it just rang. When I finally got through the lady was polite but argued with me about the hold. She finally looked somewhere else and found they had charged us. She verified the last 4 digits of the credit card and promised to refund it, and that I would see it yesterday. It has not been refunded. In my opinion this is fraud and/or out and out steeling. I'm contacted the area Chamber of Commerce about what I could do to get the $100 refunded.

What a FIND! This adorable and gorgeous Bed & Breakfast is perfectly situated on the north-east…read moreside of Mt Hood, within a stone's throw of the Cooper Spur Resort & Ski area. The BnB is perched perfectly above acres of orchards (apples and pears), with the most gorgeous view of Mt Hood from the porch. We went in January and used the BnB as a "homebase" for our snowshoeing and snowboarding adventures. Mike, Jackie's husband, is extremely knowledgable on local dining options in Parkdale (and their covid protocols), as well as secret local-known trails and routes. We had an amazing time exploring this side of 35 and feel we've discovered a treasure. Oh, and Jackie's breakfasts? AMAZING. We were well fueled for our daily adventures! And a different breakfast each day! Pancakes, Dutch Babies, Coffee Cake, French Toast, eggs, bacon, fruit (including fresh local pears!) were some of what greeted us in the mornings before we headed out. For the nitty-gritty info you want - the rooms are small but comfortable - we were able to each put a yoga mat beside our sides of the bed to do stretches, or one of us could stretch at the foot of the bed. Each room has it's own bathroom (barndoor dividing the bedroom from bathroom) with a full tub, pedestal sink, fan and bathroom heater. The bathrooms have plenty of space for two, as well as hot water for showers. There are hooks EVERYWHERE in the room for your gear to hang. The beds are comfy, with an extra memory foam topper, and plenty of warm bedding, with extra blankets if you need. The rooms have wall-heaters that get the rooms toasty! We actually had to turn ours off the first night, haha. Each room also has it's own small wall-mounted HDMI (and component) TV with satellite-tv and DVD-player, and the hosts have an extension Rom-Com selection available upon request. The communal spaces are cozy and socially distanced, as much as they can be. There's a loveseat on the upper level with a little chatty/hang out area, and the dining room downstairs has 3 tables, distanced as far apart as they can, for couples to dine at. There are only 3 rooms in the BnB, so 6 guests max, and the other 4 when we stayed wore masks like us in the common areas, and spent limited time in them. There's no mask policy (just what the state has, etc), so your experience may vary depending on what other couples are there at the same time, and what restrictions are in place. If you visit in summer or fall, there is an insanely adorable outdoor dining area with lights and plenty of space for folks to spread out. We'll likely book a stay to experience it ourselves! We sent lots of photos and notes to friends and family of our stay at the Mt Hood Bed & Breakfast, and are excited to visit Jackie & Mike again soon!

A Magical Place…read more Upon our arrival to Mt Hood B&B, we were greeted with warmth and beauty. The beauty of this property is romantic and serene. Flowers, lush green grasses and lovely foliage surround the B&B. A lovely "secret garden" as I call it, is a peaceful place to sit quietly and rest. Mt Hood shows itself majestically as we stood in awe of its beauty. We live in Alabama and the hospitality shown to us by owners Mike and Jackie, was the true southern way! Breakfast was incredible and served promptly with not only deliciousness, but presentation! With only 3 guest rooms, this made for an intimate and private weekend with our daughters family and sweet couple friends. We look forward to returning!!
