This little place was outstanding from booking to checking in to checking out. I love little stand alone independent hotels and motels. Especially when they are amazing as this place. The website was very easy to use, all of the rooms are a little different but explained perfectly. We received a phone call the day of our arrival advising our room was ready early, which was a nice touch. Check in was easy and the gal working was so pleasant and friendly, she even walked us down to our room and told us about the amenities and answered any questions we had. The grounds are very clean and they had a nice firepit, cornhole, and even a a bbq and cute little picnic table we played cards at in the evening (we would have loved to have a light or lantern to use once the sun started setting so we could keep playing our game). It is an easy walk in to town which was nice so we could enjoy some beers at the local brewery. Our room was very clean and updated. Our bed was comfortable and the ac worked great. Water pressure was outstanding in the shower as well. We loved the coffee and creamer choices in the room as well. You can tell that the owners love this property and maintain it wonderfully. The roof looked new as did the paint. Overall an excellent choice if you are coming through the area. The prices were reasonable for what we received. They even let us check out an hour late. read more

Love this place! We had cabin 9 and we loved it. Hot shower, wood floors, the pull out bed in the couch was great. The manager at check in was great and we met the lady that cleans the rooms on our way out, she is very sweet. The location is amazing, right by the Bridge of the Gods and walking distance to a nice park and marina. read more

Ok... so it's not a 5 star hotel! But I paid just over $100 for a one night stay, so I'm going based on that. For the money that I paid, we were thrilled. This place was cleaner than many of the chain hotels I've been to. The owners were super friendly. You can tell that they take pride in their little cabins. The bed had a mattress pad on it to make it more comfortable. They have a really nice firepit outside that we enjoyed sitting around while drinking a beer and chatting with the owners. However; website advertised "Complimentary Coffee Bar", but the office attendant refused to make it because he thought it was too hot outside? The bathroom was illuminated by one small low watt ceiling led bulb, totally inadequate. read more

What a lovely, welcoming place to stay in Cascade Locks. This is a small motorcourt off the beaten path, very quiet. We spent a night in Unit #6 which is half of a building with a nice yard out back. It was easily the cleanest room I have ever stayed in, in any motel/hotel. The bathroom was spotless, as was the room. This includes the baseboards, molding, doors, furniture, windows, shower, sink, etc. Furniture was in very good condition, with the bed being the only minor issue - it rather sagged toward the middle. The windows opened for a fresh breeze. The manager is very friendly and happy to comply with requests. We sat outside in the evening under a tree, around a fire pit and enjoyed our wine and cheese. The manager offered to provide real wine glasses, but we had brought our own. I would definitely stay here again. And Cascade Locks is a lovely little town. read more

I would say don't pay any attention to reviews written prior to 2019, especially not the 1 star that was obviously written by someone that got high while staying here and had an outer body experience. This motel is the cleanest one I may have ever stayed in, the owner is friendly as hell, it's super quiet and there is lots of spots to sit and smoke, read a book or just relax outside. Our room had a small kitchen, small couch and a smart TV in the living area and bedroom. Bathroom was nice with excellent towels. Looks like they are preparing to paint the outsides soon so that will make it even nicer. If you're looking for a well priced room to spend a night or two, check this one out! read more

If you are looking for an authentic mid-century roadside motel in the Cascade Locks/Hood River area then you can't find anything better than the Cascade Motel! The rooms are spotlessly clean the beds are comfortable, and the room was extremely quiet. The rooms are non-cookie cutter & they are upgrading to its original mid-century feel. Cascade Motel was great. It was just outside of the middle of town, so it was close to everything without feeling crowded. There's a kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, microwave, and coffee maker. The decorations and cleanliness make it clear that the owners really care about the place, it felt like a cute little tiny home oasis to come back to when we weren't out for a run or hike. When we checked in the owner and his family gave us solid recommendations, without them we wouldn't have seen Herman the sturgeon (which was a highlight of the trip). I would stay here again for sure, and will recommend it to friends if they travel to the area. read more

Nice little surprise here on our roadtrip. We showed up after 9pm with no reservation hoping to find a room for the night. No one was in the office, but a note on the door directed us to call for service. A very pleasant woman said her husband will be right there. Less than two minutes later he drove up and greeted us with a friendly "Hello!" He led us to our unit (#4) and opened the door for us. We chatted for a few minutes about the area and our trip. He suggested a few points of interest nearby and gave us some advice about timing our drive into Portland. We truly appreciated his thoughtfulness. As for our room, it was very clean. Spotless. Looking as if it had been remodeled recently, the room was comfortable and the bathroom was literally sparkling. I appreciated stepping into the bathroom and shower without having to worry about anything nasty. The bed was comfortable and the sheets appeared new. Our room was certainly not fancy but definitely comfy. Cleanliness is the most important factor for me, and this place nailed it. I would definitely return here for a stay - - hopefully a longer one next time. read more

This is a cute little place hidden away from the main road. My parents stayed here while visiting my family the Gorge. This Motel has had a lot of remodeling done recently. The double cottage where my parents stayed in had newer carpeting, Nice big flat screen tv and new bedding. It looked very clean and my parents said it was very comfortable. The price for a small cottage in March was around $65.00 a night. The caretakers were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place. read more

This is a charming older hotel that has been very well maintained and up kept. We're four couples travelling together and it was a perfect place for us each to have our own sweet little bungalow and a central place to meet chat and have a meal. Owner manager Scott and his lovely wife were eager to please add help us find places to go and amenities for our comfortable stay. They are a family operation who has been running this motel for 30 years. Dont expect the Ritz Carltpn in this nice small town, but DO expect a comfortable, homey motel experience from two wonderful hosts! read more

This place is nasty!! Where do I begin we checked in to the unit that slept six there were two of us and I said someone may spend a night with us they were going to charge us extra money for a third person in a unit that we rented that sleeps six! Went in to take a hot shower after a long day the head on the shower was clogged spurted out hot water from one side and freezing cold on the other Burning and freezing at the same time!! My sister stayed at another cabin she said it was a bit more upgraded funny how they replaced some things yet left other things so old and run down The towel I used was torn and frayed on the ends looked like something from the dollar store oh well I guess you get what you pay for went into the living room no joke my brother-in-law is a police officer we found a bullet hole in the front blinds that made us very uneasy cabin 7 they put us in cabin 10 for the last night the shower was better that's about all I could say that's positive this place is clean but archaic it is old but not in a good way we rented this because it looked quiet and secluded the room attached next to me was a single unit the man coughed all night I slept about three hours I told the management about all of our problems and complaints and they did not seem to care about anything very unfriendly I believe close friends must have written some of the reviews on here unless you were truly from the slum area I can't believe you would say anything nice about this place he told me basically that there was a 72 hour cancellation and I would be stuck with the fees nowhere else to stay as we were in for a wedding weekend on 4 July I called all over to try and get out of here the last night no luck The only thing that was decent was the actual bed I slept in with that said my son was unfortunate enough to sleep in the sofa bed where the springs were poking through with the middle and even though I did not sleep because of the noisy people in next door so I will give it one star for one decent bed I would go stay at the best Western it's cheaper and nicer I purchased some eggs to fix in the morning for us there nonstick pans had no coating left on them and the handles were loose the stove was old and three of the burners did not work? The plates were chipped and had cracks all over them I am going to ask for a reduction on this room price credited to my card it's worse than Motel 6!! I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you truly have nowhere to go but the street !! read more

I stayed here again in '14 and had a different, much nicer cabin. I enjoyed my stay very much while there and I only wish that I could purchase the cabin. The only downfall again was the weak WIFI signal which might be the fault of their Internet Provider. Otherwise thumbs up! read more

I stayed here, the place was not as pictured on the Internet. Smelly air conditioner, greasy pillows, windows without screens, nasty kitchen, the stove was melted, there was a rag stuck in the over head fan, the sheets were worn out and it cost $ 159 a night, of course prices were not posted on the Internet. I heard the receptionist give a smaller cabin away at $59 a night.na truckers paradise but not for me. read more

Rooms not too bad but reception person needs people skills. All the place is concerned about nickel and dimeing you. You pay $148 a night for a six person room but after two people they charge $10.88 more per person. Would not check us in until there was a head count. They did a head check on our room during the night because we had two friends just visiting us that had another hotel in town. They charged us the $10.88 for our grandma twice because I counted her being in our room and our friends in another room counted her in their room, but the next morning at checkout they said the money had already been batched out and not refundable. They wanted $25 for our service dog. We will not be going back. read more

This place is clean, cozy, and pretty affordable compared to other lodging options in Cascade locks. I've stayed here over 5+ times over a year and obviously kept coming back because I enjoyed the location and the cleanliness of the rooms. We've even recommended this place to many of our friends. The reason for the lower rating is that they seem to not understand the concept of "customer service/customer loyalty." They have a 3 day cancellation policy and for all the times we've stayed, we've never had to use it. However, the last time, we had to change plans and check in one night later than planned (but still planned to stay). The woman who worked their was insistent that we would still have to pay the cancellation fee (one night's worth) even though I had mentioned we were regulars and couldn't control having to checkin in one day later due to last minute change of plans. We asked to talk to the manager and she would not put us in contact with the manager either. She told us we had to "take responsibility" for paying. So in short, we've decided not to stay at this place anymore. Businesses who have repeat/loyal customers should find a way to treat their regulars well...and we certainly did not feel that way. read more
