If traveling in a large party (we had 6 people), this hotel had one room with 1 king and 2 queen beds, double sink outside the bathroom, 2 large flat screen TV's, microwave, fridge and small table and chairs in one entire room. Priced great too. 2. Hot free breakfast with beverage, made to order at the next door restaurant was included with our stay 3. Located near the Columbia River was a beautiful view and stroll in the morning 4. Indoor swimming pool here 5. Hotel had a text messaging system, where staff would periodically text me to see if me or my group had any needs or complaints. 6. No bed bugs, but a spider and a flying insect -wasn't enough to minus a star rating from me 7. Check-in and process was easy, quick and not a problem 8. Best location for multiple waterfalls within a reasonable, driving distance (Multnomah falls was about 20 minutes from here in the rain, Bridevail and Latourelle Falls aren't too far as well). Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again, when/if in Cascade Locks again.

Last time we stayed in one of the "treehouses" and it was an unexpectedly poor experience. There, the price tag was astronomical, the space relatively limited, and there is a train nearby that went by about every two hours overnight. Our experience this year in one of the rooms upstairs in the main lodge was much better! They've done a good job of updating the insides of the rooms, though many of the doors throughout the place still appear fairly old. It's a bit of a weird thing to notice, but you'll have a very nice/upscale feeling bed and sitting area, and then. it feels like they forgot to put a new door on the bathroom. I found the same thing in the meeting area as well. The beds were very comfortable in our room, which had some blackout curtains, got amazingly dark... Like cave of dark. It was phenomenal! The views here on a nice day are nothing short of awe inspiring! When we inquired if it was for security purposes, the desk agent said it's to pay for parking lot maintenance!! Is that really what you want you staff to say? And truly, they aren't maintaining the parking lot. How about including it in the cost of the room and gladly tell your guests there is complimentary parking? The room was spacious but very tired looking. The carpets are worn and dirty. Other than the room being spacious and a nice fireplace, there was nothing charming or cozy. When we asked for housekeeping, it was minimal. We got more coffee pods and the bed was half-heartedly made. We did not recevie fresh drinking glasses or coffee mugs. They weren't even rinsed out!! There are too many beautiful places in our area to stay and spend our money. We won't be returning there.

When we asked to cancel and switch hotels, they lied blatantly--claiming the manager needed to consult his wife (the owner) and wouldn't respond until 10am the next day, a clear delay tactic. Post-10am, the wife refused a refund, saying cancellation wasn't possible after one night's stay. This wasted half a day of our itinerary. The room was revolting--mold and a musty smell everywhere, a leaking bathroom ceiling with damp mold, and mold along all baseboards. The room wasn't cleaned properly; we found hair in the bathroom upon checking in, slow sink drainage ignored, and only two cleanings in six days. The management and owner are unethical and dishonest. Avoid this health hazard at all costs!

It was Labor Day weekend, and the nights had already been paid for. Let me start in order of events. Let me say this first, if it hadn't been a holiday weekend and we were in the area for a wedding we would have moved on to another hotel, probably without a refund. When we checked in was the first we knew about the $100. There wasn't much we could do but let them put a 'hold' which actually charged and processed it from the bank account. When we went to our room the floor was uneven, I set my rolling suitcase down, it rolled to the other side of the room. They advertised the following: Free Wireless Internet Available - We were not able to get on the internet the entire time we were there. This was very inconvenient. We tried on three different devices. Laundry Facilities - Luckily this was true, though I only saw it as we drove by, so I do not know the condition. Memory Foam Bedding in ALL Rooms - Notice they have capitalized ALL, well if we had memory foam in our room it had forgotten! They were terrible. Jet Tubs in many rooms - We didn't even have a tub let alone a Jet one. A VERY small bathroom with small shower. The bathroom was scary dirty. There was no place to set our toothbrushes and toiletries on. We opened the medicine cabinet, and it was filthy. The toilet was a round one and the seat oblong, so it hung over a few inches. The space between the seat and the tank was all filled with dirt and hair. It makes me sick to think we had to use it. It said they had a hair blower, they did not. The outlet in the bathroom did not even work. I had to plug my curling iron in, in the kitchen. The health department really does need to have a surprise inspection on this property The small kitchen was okay, we didn't really use it. They only had a small garbage can in there and one in the bathroom. We ended up leaving a sack full by the can in the kitchen so as not to leave our wrappers or anything around. The place was left as we found it. When we got home, I called to talk to them about the $100 it took me and my daughter two days to actually get someone to answer the phone. No answering machine, it just rang. When I finally got through the lady was polite but argued with me about the hold. She finally looked somewhere else and found they had charged us. She verified the last 4 digits of the credit card and promised to refund it, and that I would see it yesterday. It has not been refunded. In my opinion this is fraud and/or out and out steeling. I'm contacted the area Chamber of Commerce about what I could do to get the $100 refunded.

Our cottage was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. These folks know how to blend classic antiques with modern stylings- my wife and I really enjoyed checking out the decor! It was obvious that the owners put real intention and effort into caring for both the property and their guests. It's quaint lodging in a beautiful setting, as well as a memorable piece of Gorge history that's super worth preserving. Loved it!

We were leaving Cascade Falls and I saw a sign! There wasn't a soul here. Just a handful of these tanks with tiny fish, CoHo and Spring Chinook Salmon. It's fun to see them so tiny before you head over to Bonneville, which is a whole other review. Didn't take more than 15 minutes to see what there was to see. I'm glad we stopped.
