I'm sure I would be anyones nightmare. Mirtha was so very kind and knowledgable. She had so many examples and during our initial consultation was able to guide me in the right direction. She was so easy to communicate with and when I was unsure if some key people were going to show or not.. she helped me work it out. My flowers (arch display, head table, centerpieces, bouquet, cake..) were absolutely STUNNING and I received many compliments about them all night. Mirtha was like my fairy godmother. Thank you for everything! If you choose B&B .. you will not be disappointed.

I really could not have been happier! I met with Mirtha during our wedding planning stage. In years past, I had been to a couple of weddings where Mirtha was the florist. After seeing the spectacular arrangements she had put together for those weddings, I KNEW I HAD to have her for my special day. In our initial appointment, Mirtha was very helpful. Her wealth of floral knowledge and enthusiasm made her a joy to deal with. She changed what seemed to me like an overwhelming amount of decisions into something very manageable. I left that first meeting feeling very confident and excited about my wedding flowers! As time was leading up to the wedding, little questions would pop up here and there, and Mirtha was always very quick to respond to my questions and wants. About six weeks before the wedding, I changed my mind completely! I changed the theme, and more importantly, I changed the color scheme. Mirtha took it all in stride and never made me feel like it was a burden. If anything, she seemed MORE excited by the changes and helped me to evolve my new ideas into reality. The day of our wedding, everything was perfect! Mirtha arrived early in the morning to drop off our bouquets and then was off to decorate the church and reception hall. Walking into the church for the first time, I could not have imagined a more beautiful setup. Mirtha had done everything exactly as we had planned. From the spectacular altar arrangements she designed to the delicate rose petals we stepped on walking down the aisle, nothing could have been better! Mirtha's amazing attention to detail meant that our flowers turned out to be exactly what I wanted and far, far nicer than I could have imagined. She coordinated with our reception staff, our cake lady, and our church to make sure that there was time to make everything as beautiful as possible. She really put in 100%, and our wedding seriously looked the part. Our guests and families absolutely loved the beautiful centerpieces and haven't stopped talking about them yet. I would 110% recommend B & B Floral Design for any special occasion. Mirtha really knows how to make any occasion beautiful!

From our very first conversation, she completely understood our vision and brought it to life in a way that far exceeded our expectations. Every arrangement, from the my bouquet to the ceremony arch to the table centerpieces, was breathtaking. Allie has an amazing talent is was able to make everything feel romantic, elegant, and effortless all at once. Not only is she insanely talented, but she's also one of the kindest and most calming people to work with. Throughout the entire planning process, Allie was responsive, flexible, and genuinely excited to be a part of our day. She made us feel so cared for and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. We had mentioned to her that we really wanted to include greenery in our reception space but weren't sure we could fit it into our budget. She was creative and understanding and helped work with us to make it all happen in our budget. So many of our guests commented on how stunning the flowers were, and looking back at our photos, her work continues to take our breath away. Hiring Allie was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.

My husband and I got married at SF City Hall and decided to have a belated reception with close friends and family at a restaurant. Because the reception was at a restaurant, there wasn't much we could do in terms of decor so we had a specific vision in mind, which involved lots and lots of flowers. I probably got on a call with 10 other florists before connecting with Allie and once we had our initial conversation, I knew I found our florist. It was hard for me to tell Allie my vision without having exact examples or images but at the end of the our call, she relayed back to me what she understood and it was exactly what I wanted (but better described). She understood me better than I understood myself! I also asked her to do a mock session because I was not 100% sure about the color scheme I had in mind. She met with me and brought the most beautiful mock up. Even though the mock up was so beautiful, I wanted to change out some of the colors and flowers and she was more than accommodating while also sharing her expert input of available flowers and colors. After the mock up session, the rest of my reception was in Allie's hands. I didn't see any photos until I got to the restaurant and I was completely speechless. It was everything I had envisioned and so much more. There was not one single thing I wanted to change about the decor and setup. Allie and team executed so well and within the time frame provided and I am so thankful. The entire night, all of our guests were continuously coming up to me to tell me how beautiful everything was and are still talking about our reception 3 months later. I look back at photos and there's nothing I'd change and if I could, I wish I could live that day all over again and again and again. Before Allie, I kept questioning whether my husband and I made the right decision to have a reception at a restaurant and whether people would feel like they're walking into a wedding. After the reception and seeing Allie's setup, there's no other way we would've gotten married and would do it this way all over again. Thank you so much to Allie and the team for bringing all my floral dreams to life and making our reception feel so romantic, intimate, and so very special!

Look at our picture, it looks beautiful but it doesn't reflect our experience. I'm posting this…read morereview to make sure that no other bride goes through the same experience. When we hired Alicia (more than a year before our wedding) we thought we were getting someone experienced. What we failed to realize is that we would end up with someone burnt out (my MIL noticed right away and only met her once) who just wanted to create a cookie cutter wedding. She has her go-to venue in Napa and also claims she has done lots of weddings in the city. But she is not a top planner, at least not in San Francisco. Look at her reviews. If you notice, most of them worked with Jessica. (I didn't get to work with her until the day of and she was confused because she wasn't engaged from the beginning!) Alicia has been doing this for 10 years and only has a handful of good reviews. She gives you a spreadsheet that she makes you fill out as a couple as a "getting to know you." The ironic part is, she hardly reviews it or even cares to go through it with the couple. She skips almost all the meetings to try to book future appointments and leaves you with her assistants, even though you've paid for full planning. She lets her "team" take care of everything but they don't communicate, so you find yourself having to explain things over and over again. She also doesn't take responsibility when things go wrong. Instead, she just pushes the blame to the vendors. She'll also steer you away from your design if she doesn't have the rental items in her back room. She'll tell you that things are unavailable in the Bay Area, until you do a google search yourself and tell her to help you source what you find. I could go on and on, but if you are a bride that wants to enjoy your wedding planning process and day, do yourself a favor and get a real planner who wants to make your wedding dream a reality. When I realized that Alicia K Designs was a huge disaster, I had to re-engage the wedding planner I worked with before moving to California from the East Coast to help me with my ideas and designs. After the wedding I tried to work things out with Alicia but she just ignored me because she had already been paid.

Alicia definitely knew the venue well and had a good relationship with both Kunde and our caterer (Park Avenue). This expertise definitely came in handy in working with the venue and vendors. Specifically, Alicia's team handled the lighting for the event well, even despite a completely new setup at Kunde after they renovated/landscaped their hilltop. The entire setup was perfect and the flow was great. Our guests (plus us) had such a great time and it was a wonderful event. My initial consultations with Alicia were great but there were some issues with some of the later follow-ups. She delivered the initial proposal over a month later than was promised and because of this our timing was quite condensed. I responded to everything she sent to me within 24 hours but she was continually delayed in getting back to me. I only mention this because I felt pressed towards the end to approve the proposal even with some minor errors because we had run out of time. Also, she passed off our wedding to her coordinator (Jessica) as we got closer to the event. Although in our contract it stated that Alicia herself would be our key contact leading up to and including the wedding day it was actually Jessica that became our main contact. Jessica was wonderful and very attentive but there were slight issues with timing for the day-of. Not a big deal, but I was frustrated because I was promised Alicia would be on-site including a guarantee the morning of the wedding. The wedding itself was absolutely fantastic - again Jessica did a great job and will continue to develop into an excellent coordinator. I think their team is definitely a solid team to use, I just had some minor issues with feeling passed along but nothing that wouldn't stop me from recommending this team to future brides.

For some, still unexplained reason, my wife (who was pretty much Zen-bride throughout the process) decided that flowers and centerpieces were going to be THE most important thing about our wedding. She laughs at herself now, but in the process, I lost my desired fruits and herbs, but we were able to keep the succulents as a part of our flower arrangements. Upon reflection, we both agree that we could've just given Laurel a set of decoration parameters (Vintage Garden Wedding, in our case) and trusted her to design centerpieces and flowers to match. It's ok though because we LOVED the centerpiece ideas that my wife came up with (mixed vintage vases with mahogany candlesticks and bird cages) along with the flowers Laurel did to complete every portion of the decoration. Laurel was professional, responsive to emails, worked within our budget, and exhibited incredible patience as centerpiece and flower plans continued to evolve. Highly recommend!!
