Amazing food, I had the western burger and it was SOO good! It wasn't greasy at all and the burger was charbroiled perfectly!

Friendly, moderately retro, cook-to-order burger joint with an atypically broad menu. I came for the lunch the other day and enjoyed the Boulder Combo featuring a 1/2 pound (and looked/felt larger) burger with all the trimmings. The food was solid, the steak fries yummy and the service friendly. But, like one other reviewer, I have to agree that burger somehow lacked flavor. It wasn't bad; it just missing something. In addition to the expected fare, this place offers veggie burgers, turkey burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, a BLT, an egg sandwich, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, a salmon steak, and heck even a PB&J sandwich. Decent chilie cheese fries. Gooood chilie!! Apparently they usually come on steak fries. I don't care for steak fries so if you're like me, you have to special request them on shoe string fries. Onion rings are super good!! Cant say same for the ranch! Darn it, you make epic onion rings but fail huge with your ranch!! Take my advice, Make your own ranch! Bottled has to go!! Burger is decent. I didn't care too much for the burger patty , it seemed like not the higher grade of beef. But not terrible, I still managed to eat it to the last bite. I've lived in walking distance of this place for years, and finally decided to go, but was unimpressed. Extremely over priced, I could go to Red Robin and get more for my buck there. There were 2 other tables that were occupied but no one else. Took 15 minutes to get food, and the order was wrong when we received it. Okay. No big deal. It happens. What really knocked this place down was whole disgusting it was. Trash on the floors, every single table has some type of food or condiments on it, the trash cans were crusty as hell and over flowing. I can't imagine what the food prep area looked like. After driving past this place for almost two years we finally stopped in here for a "quick" bite. Unfortunately it will probably be our last time. If you're craving a good burger go to habit or in and out. Even Wendy's is so way better. The meat is overdone and there was no flavor. Even though my meal (bacon and avocado burger) was $10 they wanted a dollar extra for cheese. Que the eye roll... I just do not see why a hamburger sans cheese and a small thing of french fries and a small fountain drink would cost $10. Blows.my.mind. They put standard toppings on your burger which is cool but it seriously tastes no different than an overdone burger from your neighbor Dave's cookout. The one saving grace of this place is the French fries and the ambiance. French fries because they were thick cut. Yesss... And the ambiance because it was very 50s. Kinda cool and different. Still. My family recently celebrated a birthday party here. It was awesome. From the moment we walked in we were immediately greeted with friendly smiles. We ordered their Gigantic Burger. Wow its was huge. This burger was sooo big that it fed our entire group of 12 people. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. We also ordered the steak fries, potato fries, curly fries and onion rings which were all great. My favorite was the milkshakes. We tried several different kinds. Their shakes all hand made old school style. The best shakes in the valley hands down. The atmosphere is a retro dinner with old fashion booths and tables. There is no other restaurant in the valley that offers this size burger. I highly recommend this place for that special occasion, lunch or dinner. This burger is mind blowing.. read more

Customer service was 100%!!! I got a chicken sandwich on sourdough. Delicious!! We also got a kids burger which my 2 year old son devoured quickly so it must have been tasty too. My husband got a big burger which is like the name big and tasty!!! You can get steak fried French fries or you can get sweet potato fries there's lots of options for staff was extremely friendly and the food was fresh and made to order so plan on waiting these are not fast food burgers we've only been to this location but I'm sure across-the-board all locations provide the same service and quality of food read more

Burgers were delicious and the chili fries were some of the best I've had since living in Clovis. A tad bit on the expensive side, but definitely worth checking out. The only downside would be that the straws were a little too flimsy for milkshakes. read more

First time trying Colorado Grill. I ordered the Bacon and Avocado Burger meal ($9.99 for 1/4 lb burger, fries, drink). The burger was overdone, flavorless and very dry as if it had been precooked earlier and reheated prior to serving. The bacon used was not actually bacon but "turkey bacon", did not know this prior to ordering. Overall the burger was not good at all in my opinion - from the bun being very plain, meat overdone with no flavor, and using turkey bacon instead of real bacon. I could not have been more disappointed. The thick cut fries were tasty as they seemed to be freshly prepared. I doubt I'll be making a return visit anytime soon which unfortunate as I drive by this location often on the way home. read more

This is HANDS-DOWN the BEST local burger joint I've tried! I get exceptional customer service every time! From the moment I walk in, I am greeted by the staff. They are all super friendly and attentive to my needs! Sometimes the wait can be a little longer than other burger joints (15 mins) however they cook everything fresh so I don't mind at all! The burgers are huge and piled high with toppings! The meat is thick and juicy which is my kind of patty! If you get the meal/combo, it comes with either skinny fries or steak-cut. Depending on my mood, I alternate between the two. Although, I do prefer the skinny fries...they are super crunchy which I like! Overall, the burger is flavorful, big, and can be customized. Wow really Yelpers 4 stars or more? I thought about giving FLAME IT another shot until I stumble upon Colorado Grill on Willow. Once I parked my car in front of their business I all ready have workers from the inside looking at me that made me feel very awkward and uninviting. So I notice Colorado Grill won some kind of an award from 2015 while I was patiently waiting for my food for dining in. It was my first time here and Matthew the cashier seemed very unfriendly and I can tell by his facial expressions that he wants me to order ASAP, he looks kinda annoyed. I had the following for tonight's so so dinner Crispy Chicken Sandwich 3/5 it was ok nothing special Boulder hamburger with bacon and swiss cheese 3/5 it was bland and flavorless not juicy Service 1/5 employees made me feel akward and uninviting from start to finish So Colorado Grilled says it's gourmet burgers for me I don't think it's gourmet. You will find gourmet burgers at Red Robin or Ruth Chris now those are gourmet burgers done the right way. For myself this would be the first and last time coming to Colorado Grill I would rather spend my money at Red Robin or Ruth Chris better burgers and better service without having to feel uncomfortable. read more

I had my favorite today - chili burger meal, open-faced on grilled sourdough, chili, cheese, & grilled onions only (aka chili size in some places). Now I'm too full to move, so I'm writing this review. They have the best chili - hamburger, no beans, very mild (they probably have hot sauce if you like it spicy and you could add jalapenos). They have handscooped milkshakes made with quality ice cream. They have 3 styles of fries: steak fries (my fav), shoestring and curly fries. Oh yeah, sweet potato fries, make that 4 styles. Still one of the best burgers I've found. Simple and delicious. I always order the Boulder Combo with a fried egg on the burger- don't knock it 'til you've tried it! I came here the other day after a batting practice session, and it hits the spot like no other- definitely a burger you'll "crave." As much as I like In-N-Out Burger when I go, I'll never actually initiate going there. Hell, this is one of the VERY few places (non-bars) I'll walk into by myself and eat all alone with no problem, so that should tell you how damn good their burgers are. I Love These burgers. I used to come here all the time when i was going to Fresno state. I used to get the Boulder Combo but then i tried the turkey burgers and they are great. i always add Swiss cheese mushrooms and grilled onions. You order at the register and they call your order when its ready. Sometimes they bring it to ya depending on how busy it is. Big plus: they have Cherry Coke. The steak fries are really thick and super hot when they get to you. The chili is pretty good too. I like a dash of Tabasco on everything to make it spicy when I'm in the mood but you usually have to ask for it because they have one bottle floating around. The service is always friendly. booths are comfy, I think its a bit pricey for a burger if you get all the extras because they do charge for extras on the burger the Product is fantastic though. Pineapple Shakes!! They're the best and this place serves them! As well as Vanilla Coke. Awesome. I ordered the Boulder burger with guacamole and mushrooms. It was overstuffed and delicious in every way. At first I was all "Oh. I got a salad with a side of burger" but it was good! The onion rings were okay; preferred the ones at Doghouse. The wait was long but there was only one guy running the whole place so that was understandable. The food is great but they exhibited little interest in health code. My husband and I had dinner here tonight and they actually allowed a woman to bring her bird in the restaurant. I was a bit grossed out but it was in a cage. Then she took the bird out to hold it. In a restaurant. Seriously?! I asked the on duty manager if he would ask her to put it back in the cage. He replied that "her order is almost ready, she's leaving soon. She has a really good hold on it." So I asked "what about health code?" To which he answered " she's leaving soon." Who cares?! Licensed therapy and guide dogs are trained and are more than welcome in any restaurant, and I'm completely comfortable with that. But a lady holding a bird, in a death grip I might add, not okay. She was having to keep "a really good hold on it" because it didn't want her to hold it. Would they have thrown away all the exposed food in the kitchen if the bird had gotten loose? With then attitude of the manager, I have doubts. I don't really see myself returning. read more

I like In-N-Out Burger better, but this place has bigger burgers and more choices. If you like big burgers, you will like Colorado Grill because they have big burgers. What a delicious, fresh tasting burger. Mine was just a straight up burger, but my husband had guacamole on his and my son had chili on his. All three of us loved our burgers. The steak fries were a bit overdone but the onion rings were delicious and crispy. My son liked said that he liked how the batter on the onions allowed him to bite through it and the onion didn't "slide out like a slippery eel." I also thought the batter was perfect and had a great crunch. This retro restaurant isn't decorated "over the top" like some other burger joints. The servers were very friendly and attentive. I went here because it was close to Fresno state and I had my groupon. Unfortunately the customer service here is terrible. We ordered two burger combos and mine with a strawberry shake. When we received the burgers they did not include cheese so we had to pay an extra dollar for cold cheese to stick on our burgers. Although the man at register asked others if they would like cheese, we were not asked and did not apologize for not asking us. The manager seemed to be nice to everyone but us. Also the shake I got was overflowing and dripping all over the outside. So if you like bad customer service...this is the place! I will not be returning to this location.
