Incompetence at this office. My mom came to get the name changed on her driver license and.... she ended up getting an ID card. Yes, this office did an eye test to issue an ID card? She still had two years left on her old driver's ID but needed to update the name on it. After making the appointment, driving over and getting paperworks taken care of, she gets ID in the mail, not driver's license. I'm so mad at this location with such incompetence. read more

Oh no, the DMV!!! Well, they have really improved the process here since the last time I went. This is the only place near me to get your drivers license or id card and has traditionally been a complete nightmare. Lines around the block at opening and almost impossible to get in without at least an hour wait. Now they have gone to appointment only. Given the appointments are often weeks out it really does improve the flow of people through the door. I went to get an ID card the other day after making my appointment 2 weeks ago. I went through the door and verified my name and appointment and was told to stand in line to get started. My line was non existent so I got right up to the counter. I gave her my paperwork and paid my fee and was instructed to wait for my name to be called to get my picture taken. I waited about 15 minutes as there were lots of people waiting too. Then I went up and got my picture taken and was given my temporary documents. I was in and out of there in under 30 minutes. What a difference. The people were friendly and didn't have the stereotypical beat down look I had become accustomed to seeing. Good job DMV! read more

This place is not so bad...for a DMV. I went in to get a new license, and I wasn't quite prepared for what this would entail. The Building- This building is run down. I'm not sure when it was updated, but I'm thinking 1980 something. It's dated, looks dirty, and is in a strip mall where some ladies were looking for customers to take to the motel across the street. The Process-I can tell you that there are people with appointments, who are in and out in 15 min or less. For the rest, it could take a while. Not an extremely long time, but they speed up dramatically when it's closing time. The Employees- Yes, it's obvious some hate their jobs. Most are friendly and courteous, a few were curt and in my opinion, need a hug, a role model, or someone to tell them things are going to be ok. The Customers- Wow. This place has a rough crowd. There is a sign to let you know you will be removed for being loud or violent. This is a bring a book, dont make too much eye contact kind of place. For those in the know, it's prison rules in here. It was a pretty good experience, but the tension in here could be cut with a knife. Good luck, and remember you can renew online before your license expires, and skip this whole experience. read more

I felt dirty walking in and out of this place and the thought it still makes me shudder. I picked this location because I heard they were pretty big and quick with turn around time so I made an appointment for a Thursday afternoon and headed over. Oh lord, where to start...... #1 Located in a run down and questionable strip mall . #2 Barely any parking. #3 The DMV office is barely noticeable, I didn't see a real sign just a handwritten one that say entrance to the left. #4 There was no one at the door to instruct you on how the process goes or what the flow of the place is. #5 The people there were sketch. I tried not to make eye contact and breathe through my mouth so I couldn't smell the funk in the air which appeared to be a mixture of Drakkar Noir, bad cheese and sweat. #6 Appointment wasn't even necessary because of #4 so I got in line and hoped for the best #7 They need sanitizer machines. The place was a dump and bare but the employees were surprisingly nice (but they seemed totally miserable there and I can see why) so that was a plus (I even got to do a re-do of my picture) I just hope I get my license in the mail soon-what the hell is that all about?? read more

Drivers license offices are typically a nightmare. A place you must visit every few years to give the government some money in order to continue driving an automobile. They are all, more or less, the same no matter what state you are in. Several things to remember when your time comes: 1. Arrive early, if the place opens at 8am, be there at 7:15, that way there will only be 40-50 people in line ahead of you. 2. Bring something to read; something to eat; someone to talk to; something to listen to; a mat to sleep on; a chair to sit on and a completely vacant mind as you are in for a wait. 3. Bring ID with a picture, preferably two pieces of ID so they can make sure it is YOU and not someone who looks like you. 4. Don't bring anything larger than a $20 bill as most will not accept any bill larger than a twenty. Even though your charges will be in excess of $20, you have to have a $20 or multiples of $20 to pay for your license. Anything larger than a $20 seems to indicate "funny money" and most people have not seen a larger bill anyway. 5. Be prepared to deal with a bureaucartic system that has no rhyme or reason. Some have you take a number, then they have different lines for different things IE Renews, new licenses, road tests, etc. Some just have you sit and expect you to know where you are in a mysterious line. Some have you get into a line, only to find you are in the wrong line. And don't ask anyone WHY about anything...they don't know, they just do whatever they are told to do. 6. Alot yourself at least 2 1/2 hours for the process, not including the time you wait in line to get into the building. 7. Be prepared to be sitting with grumpy, angry people none of who want to be there, many who cannot understand instructions even though they are printed on the walls and sheets of paper and some who do not comprehend or speak English. 8. When it comes your time, be prepared to deal with a worker who has flat affect, no sense of humor and can only answer the most basic questions. These workers also seem to take frequent coffee breaks, so while there are 12 windows, only 3-4 of them have actual workers stationed there to help you. 9. Notice that there always seem to be one window where a customer has been there for over 45 minutes. It is hard to believe that anyone could take this long getting a damn license, but there is always one. 10. Be happy that you do not have to do this every year. Take your license and run for your car, speed away and don't look back. read more

OMG Never Again! I came here on a Tuesday morning to get my CO drivers license. It opened at 8am and I arrived around 8:20. When I arrived people were standing all over the place, as there were many more people than seats. People must have arrived at 7:00 and formed a line around the building. I was number 169 and when I arrived they were on number 93. They moved at such a slow pace that when I left over 2 hours later at 10:30 they were only on number 122. They hadn't even helped 30 people in over 2 hours. At that pace I would have been there over 5 hours before my number would have even been called. They only had three workers in that place. Nobody was at the little desk when you walked in. Nobody could answer any questions. Nobody cared about you. This place was a chaotic nightmare. I went to the Parker location a couple days later and was greeted by a friendly lady, waited maybe 15 minutes, and was done. Avoid this Aurora location at all costs! read more

Ok well going to the DMV is never something one wants to do but it's a necessity every now and then. Came here to get a CO license(moved from CA). There was a worker right after I entered who asked what I was there for, then made me a ticket and directed me to the right line. Waited in line for about 30 mins which wasn't too bad, and was the wait time given on the ticket. The woman who helped me was really nice and funny. Made a really boring thing as fun as it could be. Then I had to wait to get my photo and fingerprint. Only had to wait about 5 more minutes for that. Overall a very quick and painless process. Pretty dull atmosphere, but can't expect much from a DMV. read more

Obviously the DMV is not going to be super fun, but the employees here at least made it as easy as possible. Everyone was super helpful and very kind. This location used to be dreadfully busy, but I've been here twice within the past few months & their waiting is slim to none & I love that! Seems like they have their own system going that is seriously working quickly and smoothly. It was a breeze - I made an appointment for 10:15 a.m. and was out by 10:30 a.m. I had recently moved back to Colorado from Florida and went to the agency in Boulder. Compared to the DMV in Florida - this was a pleasure! Lines weren't long, plenty of chairs to sit in for the wait. Came to get my sons first driver license, arrived around 1130am and waited until 1:45 for our number to be called and then waited another 40 to get photo taken. Crazy long lines, minimal seating and not enough help. Would NOT recommend this location. This is insane... At least when we were called the clerk was pleasant but clearly in no hurry. read more
