Checked online for hours of operation, and went to the DMV based on the data there. Arrived about 1:15 P.M. on Wednesday to find the place closed! A sign indicated staffing issues as an excuse and they would be closed the entire week! No mention of this on their website. Apparently they could not care less about wasting my time or anyone arriving there expecting to accomplish their business. Infuriating and insulting. Check in was easy. I appreciated the virtual queue so I didn't have to sit around. I was notified when I was 5th in line to come inside and my number was called within a minute of me entering the building. I had all of my paperwork so the whole process took less than 5 minutes. Staff was friendly, easy to understand, and patient. Obviously it's not fun to go to the DMV but this branch made it as painless as possible. Be aware all DMV locations are rotating weekly closures so check your branch's week before showing up. read more

Arrived at 12:44 pm on 2-27-26. Tags expired on 2-25-26. Didn't receive notice until 2-28-26. Purchased plates on 3-4-26. Charged a $50 late fee! Arrived 1:30 before opening. Only 2 of 10 windows opened. Employee left counter after first 10 minutes. Employee helping me was rude, quite, and unhelpful. The only bright side is the manager came out 10 minutes before opening to brief nearly 100 people waiting, clearly stating how understaffedthey are due to budget cuts. Only allowed 15 people in at a time with plenty of open seats. More than 50 people left out in the cold. This is what happens when you vote for Democrats. The DMV is an absolute joke and a masterclass in government incompetence. Their hours are a pathetic 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and they somehow still have the nerve to shut down for an hour-long lunch right in the middle of that tiny window while lines form starting at 4AM waiting for them to open and hope and pray you even get a number to be seen that day! They get our tax dollars paying the 3 sloths that work in there basically 4 hrs a day IF that!! To top is off, they'll get ANY and EVERY official and none official holiday off! Today, March the 30th, they've locked their doors to give themselves a long weekend for a Monday holiday, Cesar Chavez Day that has absolutely nothing to do with them or their useless bureaucracy. It's peak hypocrisy for them to take a day off to 'honor' the community while ICE is out in the streets operating 24/7. They have zero respect for the working families who actually have to take unpaid time off just to give them even more of our money. SOMETHING MUST CHANGE you pieces of shit!!! read more

I've spent 2 full days here trying to fix a mistake THEY made with my registration and have had plenty of time to observe their awful behavior. I understand the DMV is underfunded and it's a high stress job, but people working here seem to get off on making everyone miserable. The only saving grace is the security guard that is at least trying to have a positive and helpful attitude. I don't have any recent experience at other locations but it's hard to imagine anything worse than the purgatory I just experienced. Facts 1: Did you know that each county has its own DMV offices? This location is only for Denver county residents only. 2. Only auto related, no drivers licenses. If I were to give a comparison between Douglas County (me) and Denver County (not me), the latter will get score of "C" and 1st "A" This location still follows Covid social distancing, and we had to endure one hour of wait time outside during the cold day. There are plenty of seating inside but only allow 5 or so people to be inside at a time. There are more workers than the customers. You must be at the wait line by 2:30 pm. Office closes at 3:30 pm. The security guard will assure you that you will be served even though the line was moving very slowly. The armed Securitas guard was informative and courteous, the rest of the DMV staff, not rude but were just doing the business. The guard will let a few people in at a time as the others exit. The first DMV clerk will ask the reason, Park Pass or not, and form of payment and hand-written call number. You wait till they call your number. They have about 6 counters that's manned. Renewing registration took about 5 minutes. The counter clerk will ask the same questions again. Takeaway: Do not come here on freezing day unless well prepared. read more

Okay, where to start...First off, Denver has many locations not opening until 8AM. We live by DIA, so ALL OF MONTBELLO, DIA, GVR, ETC. ETC. goes to the one on Peoria St . I took a chance and came to this one on Monaco & Iliff intersection. The guy ( Carl Ramos I believe ) was nice, and we were out quickly. The funny thing is NO MORE THAN 15 people were allowed inside at a time. If you are so concerned about more people inside, just tell them to wear masks! The disgusting guy behind me was hacking and coughing and blowing his nose everywhere. Also, Denver has moved to practically NOTHING being done in person! You have to do a kiosk ( NONE IN NE Denver!!! Or within 45 minutes of DIA ) or, mail, or online ( you get no confirmations or updates ), or you have to drive all the way to a "drop box ". It is really a joke and obviously being run by idiots in office. read more

Literally the fastest dmv of all time! There were a lot of people waiting both inside and outside so I was nervous about the wait. After waiting 5 min to check in, I sat down then was immediately called up. All I needed to do was renew my expired registration so maybe I was put in an express line. This was a nightmare of trying to get my expired tags renewed. The first day I went at 7am and it was so busy the line went around the building only to see the young guy come out and tell everyone they would be opening the doors and that they didn't do tag renewal. So bummed out I went to a king soopers Kios and that didn't work because they were expired so the next day after 2 hours on the phone I was told by this woman who seemed really on top of her game to go back to the same place get in line and wait andvtell them to treat it like it was a new tag registration. I'll say this the wait is typically pretty long here unless you show up really early. When you do get to the counter the process is quick easy and painless compared to other DMV's I've been to throughout the country. Terrible. Expect to wait 3 hours at least. No one working there speaks Spanish, while probably half of the people in line don't speak English. They have 10 windows and only 2-3 employees working. I was "second in line" for 45 minutes. Being "T70" they called letters X letters, E letters O, none of which had anything to do with the line that I was in for "T" apparently. I arrived on a Thursday around 1pm. Thursday is much better than Friday, I was told by the staff. Plenty of parking. I was first greeted by a heavyset security guard. He instructed me of where to stand. I personally found him unpleasant and not friendly. He had his phone in his shirt pocket facing out with the camera, as if to say, I'm personally recording everyone whom walks in here. I also noticed that he communicated differently with differ people. He might be more pleasant if he worked at a location other than the DMV. The woman whom greeted me was a much better communicator and pleasant individual. I waited for 20 minutes and was helped by Kendrick. I am happy that I ended up in his line. I was able to register a new vehicle with custom plates. Make sure you have multiple options ready beforehand for the custom plates. I was pleasantly surprised to walk out with the new title and a temporary plate. The location in Golden did not leave me with those items on my way out. No mask was needed when inside. This location was suggested as one of the better options for Denver. The security guard was nice on my way out, after I said to Kendrick I was going to write a good review about his customer service. read more

* They are very slow for service, you must show up before @:230 PM or you have to go back another day. They have 6 windows for clerks, but only two are working when I went in. I wanted to put my care in storage using DR2303, but the clerk said I had to have insurance. This is a non-use form. If you are not driving it why do you have to buy insurance for it? I had a car that did not pass emissions based upon a requirement for 2023, but my car was made in 2001. This is the same as California requirements, Why do we need to Caiifornate Colorado with their stupid specifications. THE TREMONT OFFICE WAS VERY SLOW. It seems that Colorado wants you to throw away a perfectly running car which was not manufactured to 2023 specification for emissions , if you have an old car, and a resident of another state, you can register it in that state if you have a residence in another state than Colorado like Wyoming which has no emissions requirements. The car dealers like a law that obsoletes your old car so they can sell you a new one which may be very expensive to afford. read more

I had an absurd experience here at the 2223 S. Monaco Parkway office on January 2, 2025. I've been at this office before and not had a problem but that day there was a security guard who was preventing everyone from waiting inside the building. There were about 40 empty chairs but no one was allowed to sit in them because there weren't enough for everyone waiting. Everyone was told to go outside and wait for a text saying they could enter the building. If you dared to even stand in the foyer this guard would demand to know if you'd gotten your second text and if not you weren't even allowed to stand there. Since I hadn't been told there was a way in the original text I got to see where you were on the list I ended up sitting in my car for 2-1/2 hours. Only the 5 people closest to being served were allowed indoors. This guard was so rude to everyone. Definitely on some kind of power trip. Probably won't use that office again. read more

Realized Sunday night that my vehicle registration expired the next day. Going to the DMV on a Monday or the last day of the month is never recommended. But here I was, doing just that. I arrived shortly before 9AM. Walked in to see it was nearly empty. Renewals don't need to take a number so I approached the express line. A staff member was waiting for me, and he took care of my renewal right away. He was friendly and smiling and happy to help. I was in and out in about two minutes--no lie! Great experience. I won't put off registration renewal like that again (I hope), but it was nice to find that I didn't have to pay the price of half a day spent at the DMV. read more

As dreadful as the DMV may be, the experience I had at this location was quick and seamless! I didn't catch the name of the lady working at the check in desk but she made sure I had everything before I got to the window. The security guards were very nice and helped the line move efficiently. And the gentleman who processed my new title was so quick! You do have to lineup pretty early (I got there at around 9:20, and probably got everything done by 9:40ish). A DMV with a 4.5 Star rating?! Say what?! To be honest, I was completely unaware that this location was here, even though I live in the area. The fact that this place is still a secret may contribute to a lot of the high reviews lol. On the Monday before Christmas I was able to walk in a few minutes after they opened, go straight up to the counter, and be out the door in less than 5 minutes. Whoa. My hubby looked up the closest DMV and this one came up. The reviews looked too good to be true. Really? A DMV that is quick? No way. But... I was proven wrong. And I'm so glad!!! I came in at about 9:45am. The parking lot was pretty empty. And I almost couldn't find it. It's between Pudge Bros Pizza & the Sewing place. It's brand spankin new! I went in and the people in front of me were about to be buzzed in (cool security measures), and they actually stopped because they were trying to get a drivers license. (FYI: They DO NOT issue IDs, Driver's Licenses, or Motor Vehicle Records) The security guard helped them out and let them know where to go. Cool! Then I was let in and I let him know I needed to renew my car registration. He pushed a button on a screen and printed out a numbered ticket. Then I had a seat. There was probably 1 or two other people sitting down waiting. It was soo empty! Another group of people came in after, and had special needs. The security guard printed out a number ticket for them and yelled "Expedite #_____!" And with a quickness without them even having time to sit down, the available people helping were able to expedite the process and take care of them. I was impressed with the level of customer service!!! Then in a few minutes my number came up and I was helped by a friendly gal. She was pleasant to talk to, and I had my 1 year old with me and we chatted for a few seconds about her grandson. All while giving her the necessary information and paying for my car registration renewal. My receipt was emailed to me and I was done! I told her "Wow! All the reviews were right! You guys are fast!" If you see my picture... I set the timer up from when I sat down (with the number ticket in hand) to when I finished at the counter. Five minutes and 45 seconds. Again. 5:45?! What the?! Crazy right?! Well, you know where I'm going if I ever need to get any DMV stuff done. The level of customer service, attention to detail, and all in a timely manner?! Wow!!!
