As we waited in line to get in the courthouse it went fairly smoothly. I felt bad for the people who called the jurors number and was told to come in just to be told they didn't need to show up especially after waiting 30 minutes in the unusual cold snap we had that day. After the ones who were told to come in and after another 45 minutes wait we were all told there was a stay and we could leave. Thank God.

If you are not excused, I advise arriving before 7:30 a.m., when the doors open, so you can get through security quickly and arrive at the jury summons room on time. You fill out another questionnaire (similar to the summons you must bring), which helps the judges and lawyers determine the first round of excusals. If you are "lucky" enough to make it through that round, you will be taken upstairs to the courtroom for the voir dire process. Depending on the number of jurors needed, you may need to stay for lunch. There is a reasonably priced cafeteria with hot and cold options and snacks.

I would like to give my heartfelt gratitude for today's experience!…read more I'm a little clumsy sometimes. And dealing with immigration could be stressful. Today I finished my meeting at the office with the amazing officer I had. It went well, and I noticed on my way out back to the car my card was missing. I checked for many times in my bag and it just wasn't there. I really didn't want to, but I had to go back in, these gentlemen of security was so nice and kind to me and offered their helping hands without judging. I went to the office to talk to the front desk lady also, and was able to connect to the officer to see if I left my card. and at the end, they were able to sent me upstairs to check. Security walked with me after looking for the same officer I had, I felt so grateful and fortunate as me being a foreigner even I had lived here for years. The kindness and non judgmental treatment as I was able to receive. The end of story was, I didn't realized my card was with my passport haha. I was able to find it at the end finally after my tears came out(silly me I know). I appreciate their kindness of allowing me. When I get overwhelmed I do things like this. And I decided to share my experiences here and I appreciate them as much as I appreciate the appreciation I had today! Thank you! You guys are a great team!! You guys had played an important role for me to love America . I'm grateful to be here

I didn't realize that it had to be valid for six months after return and we discovered this a little more than two weeks before departure. We got an appointment and had to fly to Denver to take care of this. The agency is in a really nice area heavy on office buildings. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were able to get his passport same day and enjoyed killing time at the outdoor art museum. Not at all what I was expecting. Very happy with the service and the ability to get this resolved before our trip. Oh and helpful tip. If you're flying in/out of Denver don't make your itinerary too tight. We fly in the night before and had a flight out the next evening. Since the same day passports are picked up at 2 I was glad we didn't schedule it too tight. There's plenty to do in the area while you wait and DEN is only about 30 mins away.

It lasted a very short 9 weeks, meeting every Thursday evening and three Saturdays. We had various speakers, mostly from Lone Tree PD but also from Parker K-9, Douglas County Impact Unit, Douglas County Regional Swat and Victim Advocates. Each session was devoted to different topics but the highlights had to be the Saturday, all day sessions. We got to drive two kinds of police vehicles on the training track (and kill lots of orange cones), spend a day "solving" a mock crime scene - going through every step a real officer and detective would, and learn all about shooting - from clearing a building in teams to an individual simulator session. The shoot house was so much fun - from "ramming" down the door to shooting real "paintmunition" at posters of bad guys that were moved around to different spots each time we went through the "house". The Lone Tree PD was incredibly welcoming, open and honest. They made us feel like part of the police department and told us stories about their training and experiences. There were also lots of volunteers (the VIP's) for the PD who helped with every session. They added greatly to the program and it wouldn't have been the same without them. Without making this review too long, I just want to mention a few more activities that were included. We got to try out the laser guns to clock traffic out on the street, we learned about DUI enforcement and got to try on goggles that simulated being drunk. We learned about domestic violence and the history of fingerprints. We learned about AXON body cameras and tasers and toured dispatch and the crime lab. We watched demonstrations of "use of force"and tried out handcuffs. The icing on this cake was our graduation ceremony where they humorously went over our experiences, passed out awards, certificates, and a picture collage, and each graduate was also given a flash drive of all the pictures the volunteers had taken throughout the academy. This was the most meaningful, enlightening experience I've had in a long time and I'm grateful to have been a part of it.
