I'm writing to express deep concern regarding the poor customer service experience at this DMV location, especially towards non-English speaking individuals. There was one employee in particular--working at Camera Station C--who was extremely rude to Spanish-speaking customers. If someone didn't understand something, instead of helping them with patience or offering a solution, he would just repeat himself louder and ask, "Do you speak English?" in a demeaning tone. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, discriminatory, and completely unprofessional. It is extremely disappointing that no interpreters are available on-site, and that not a single clerk appeared to speak any Spanish, especially in a community where many residents are Spanish-speaking. Why is there no system in place to assist people who don't speak English? Why aren't the clerks trained in basic Spanish or, at the very least, taught how to communicate respectfully with limited-English speakers? Secondly, the process for calling people up to the camera stations is chaotic and inefficient. Clerks are yelling people's first names across a loud, echoing room where visibility is blocked by the large picture screens in front of each camera. This makes it very difficult for customers to see who is calling them or even hear properly amid all the noise. It feels completely disorganized and stressful for everyone involved. This experience was not only frustrating, but deeply disheartening--especially watching how others were treated. Testing area was a joke. Too many people crowded into one area with people talking while I was taking my test. Very disruptive environment for test taking. Lay out of the "office" is confusing and congested making it difficult to see what line you're in and where you need to be. Difficult to hear the clerks call who's next behind the glass and even more difficult to hear them when you're standing in front of them. Grubby, dusty and dirty place. Most of the clerks were nice, minus the grumpy old guy trying to pick a fight with one of the customers there. The customer service was friendly, but the system went down 3 times during my visit here. Been here over 2 hours trying to get an out of state transfer of a license. Took about 1.5 hours before my number was called, now looks like another 30 minutes or so just to have my picture taken. All in all, probably a 3 hour experience once I walk out the door. I came here on a Tuesday morning, about an hour after they opened (and with my hubby & toddler!). People were already waiting, which I was not surprised. I've come to not expect too much, because let's face it, DMVs are those type of places where the lines/process seems to take forever, much like the sloths in the movie "Zootopia". No sloths here. First you go through a line to figure out where you need to go. The important thing is if you have a question, ask! There's no use in going through a line to get the wrong ticket to go to the wrong place. Fortunately, my hubby was with me and he had already gone through the whole process the week before. I was getting a new drivers license because I still had my old one from out of state. The line was going pretty quickly (at least for what I was there for). Took about 30 min from getting my number/ticket.... to getting to the gal that helped me. She was super nice, and friendly. As she got all my documentation, the credit card system wasn't working. This is not the fault of the employees. I wasn't planning to wait until it started back up again, but my hubby found an ATM and got some cash. When the systems go down, everything goes to a halt. They can't process anything, and even though they took my cash (which if for some reason I had to leave, they would have given my cash back). Fortunately within 30-45 minutes, the systems went back up again. You can imagine the bottleneck of people. So once things were back up, it was another 30 min until I got my picture taken and I was out the door with my temporary DL in less than 2 minutes. My DMV Tips... When you go to the DMV: 1) know what you are going to get 2) have ALL the necessary documentation + extra documentation just in case the other ones aren't valid 3) have several forms of payment (credit card/check & cash) 4) be patient and friendly 5) be prepared to keep yourself busy (reading material, smartphone, snacks/something to drink, toys if you bring your toddler etc) 6) give yourself at least 2-3 hours.... And be surprised if the wait is faster! 7) go in the middle of the week (not a Monday)! Overall this was a great experience. If there were no hiccups in the system, I should have been out of there in an hour. Kudos to the staff at this location! read more

Efficient, fast and mundane is a way to describe this office, although everyone was very nice, even though it was decorated in DMV Blue's and Gray's prison colors. I went in to obtain a Colorado ID (someone in my house is attending college and needs this identification) and wound up surrendering my California Driver's license because you cannot have both. There are basically three booths at this carnival. The front booth is where a woman asks for your purpose and hands you a ticket. The second booth is where you hand over your documents to be processed and take a short eye exam. The big question of the day is directed towards your internal organs, and if you wish to share them with strangers upon your arrival in the cosmos. The third booth is where they call out your name like you ordered a hamburger and fries at a dark biker tavern, and the purpose is to pay and have your photo taken. My headache began at this office and ran through the day, otherwise they would have gotten four and a half stars. All hats, coats, sweaters, glasses and additional paraphernalia must be removed to obtain this procedure. I waited to see if my name would be announced loudly and in the correct form. It was but I feared punishment upon approaching the bench. No punishment was given but for sure having the vocal capacity to ring out everyone's name all day long must take a toll on the vocal chords and the facial muscles. The job qualifications must ring out true, with specific instructions in the following manner: 1)The need to scream out names in a shrill voice like one is watching a horror movie. 2)The need to project one's voice loud and off pitch across a crowded room and alert people by the back wall. 3)The need to avoid eye contact at all costs and address people as objects. 4) Be able to intimidate people to remove their outerwear and stand stiffly by the white screen for a photo shoot. 5)Be able to shout out the same litany hourly like a broken record without fatigue. 6)Be able to dismiss people like farm animals for slaughter when their job has been completed. A word of advice: If you are under 21 and wish to obtain a Colorado ID, you can do this on your parent's paperwork, just show up. If you are over 21, arrive to obtain the information that requires you to become a resident. It sounds very complicated. My oldest is neither a tribal chief, a veteran, nor has she been ordained or 'traveled up the river,' with a release letter, so to speak, so this process might take a while. read more

Grew up hating it because everyone was always so rude like they hated their jobs but management has done a great job turning this around. We went to get my daughters driving test today not realizing they recently changed the rules about appointments only and we were a walk in. The first person we dealt with was the supervisor (I regret not getting her name now cause she was so kind and patient). She said she'd see what she could do and put us on standby. The next gentlemen we worked with us equally as kind and helpful. The driving instructor was even spectacular. They all deserve the greatest acknowledgment. They turned what could have easily been the worst day for my daughter and me into one of the best days of her life. And we were in and out in just a few hours. I took my elderly and disabled father to this location to get an ID card. I cant make appointments for him because his health is so up and down so I had resigned myself to a full day experience on the day he felt best to go in. That day was today. I just have to say it was the very best DMV experience of my entire life! The line was long when we first walked in but a nice security guard noticed us in line(my Father is frail with oxygen and a walker) came over to us and just took us to the front desk past the line, no questions asked. Then I gave the gal the limited paperwork we had proving his address(he lives in an assisted living facility with all utilities included, no credit cards and everything else is in my name and comes to my house) I was worried they would send us away but they were quick to review and to make the exception to take his recently signed resident contract and letter of accommodations from the assisted living facility. They then moved him to the front of the next line, processed his paperwork and took his picture. This all happened in less than 30mins! While I noticed the nasty looks from others who had been waiting I am just SO grateful to the employees of this facility for making this such a positive experience!! Now my Dad can enjoy one of his few good health days!! It is SO nice to see people doing the right thing for people who need it! I went on a Thursday morning, not too crowded, DMV was clean and neat. The man who greeted me was extremely helpful and polite. After receiving a number my wait was about 10 minutes.
