Joe came out and gave us an estimate. (To preface this I want to say that I have always liked Joe and he seems very genuine and honest. I believe the problems arise with his construction side of the business) anyway.... The price was a little high but I figured with the good reviews (at the time 2015) that paying more for better quality was the way to go. Well, two years later, I cannot recommend this company at all! I cannot tell you how many times they have had to come out to fix pieces of the deck that they screwed up! The Trim/edging was not cut correctly and where two pieces came together on corners (the 45 degree angles were way off) and actually where two pieces came together on the flat places too.... so it looked like crap! No attention to detail! A year and a half later the stairs started leaning to one side (they built them without their own support) so another few trips out and they finally had that fixed. The trim is still not correct. Now the outside side rail fell off the stairs as someone was leaning against it because it was never screwed into the support beam on the top AND bottom! REALLY??? I am not allowed to touch the thing or Joe says it will void the warranty but If I call them I get the run-around, no call backs, etc. I say use this company at your own risk and the three year warranty is pretty much worthless unless you can actually get good quality warranty work. read more

To say that they exceeded my expectations would be an UNDERSTATEMENT! Colorado Deck and Landscape tore out my old deck and built a new one, as well as added a water feature to my yard. I looked at MANY contractors for this work, and they came in with the best price, but oh man, did I ever get incredible value for my money. These guys are not just carpenters that slap something together - they are CRAFTSMEN that focus intently on every detail of the build. For example, most deck companies will begin putting planks on top of the frame right away after it's built. Not these guys - they planed the entire top surface of the frame, everywhere that planks would touch, until it was absolutely level and true. This is not a high deck (off the second floor), but a ground level 12x16 deck, yet the with the framing and support structure they put underneath it I think I could safely place a herd of elephants on it and it wouldn't even grown, let alone fail. I CANNOT recommend Colorado Deck and Landscape HIGHLY enough. If you are considering any landscaping project, this is where you need to go - look no where else. read more

The owners Joe and Al did a fantastic job in replacing our 12'x24' wood deck with composite boards, metal railings and composite topping. I could not be happier with the finished deck which is absolutely beautiful and functional. From the beginning of the estimate stage, Joe was excellent to deal and negotiate with, with a final good price and payment terms. The install crew of Scott and Will were meticulous and precise with extreme care to attention to details in all aspects of the deck installation. I was extremely pleased with this team and in my opinion they are the best with my A1+ rating. If you use Colorado Deck & Landscape, you won't regret it. They did the work in the timeframe they quoted, but there are WAY too many blemishes considering we paid CO Deck & Landscape $20,000. We called them a few times to come back and correct problems and we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing them so we stopped calling. We recently hired a different company to do some new additional work and the city inspector failed us because the railings that CO Deck & Landscape put on our stairs were still not stable enough. And that was even one of the first things I had them come back to "fix" before I finally stopped calling them!! So now we have to pay the new company to correct the work we paid CO Deck to do so that we can pass the inspection. The new company has already had to correct several issues. read more

We were very pleased with the workmanship and professionalism we saw from the crew that built our deck. They were able to accommodate our desire to engineer support for a porch swing on the pergola over the deck. From consultation, to design, to handling the building permit with the city, through construction and cleanup. It's nice to see contractors using transits, and squares, and levels and not just eyeballing where things go. Also, every fastener is specifically placed in a pleasing pattern and not just willy nilly without thought. From what I can tell they seem to follow the mantra, if it is going to be exposed, it should at least look good. I plan to call them back for more work on other projects. read more

I wanted to remodel my kids house a few months ago. We had some odds and ends but, we also had some major remodels we wanted done. Our budget was $20,000-30,000 for the entire house. The woman said they do everything little to big. They came out and we went over everything we wanted to do. We wanted to start small with a couple of remodels, one, because we hadn't decided on design for the rest, and second, we wanted to see how well the work was. Later, I got a call from them stating that they wouldn't do any work unless they could do everything! We had a $20,000-30,000 budget! Not small potatoes. We were just so confused! read more

Allan and his crew did a beautiful job ripping out my patio, building of retaining walls, rebuild of my sprinkler valve box setup, adding a couple sprinkler zones, and leveling out my backyard so I now have a usable space that my family and I want to spend time in. They kept to their bid pricing and kept good communication with me in both the start of every work day before I left for work and call/text/email throughout the project. I called to ask for a quote since I don't have any ideas about decks or where to start for that matter, and the guy that answered my call asked me for my budget and when I told him....he kinda scoffed and said that my budget just won't work. Excellent craftsmen - trim carpenters, not just framers. There is a difference. I own a landscape design business for contractors and also manage a landscape installation company. I use CDC for all the deck installations, both simple and complex. There is always a very happy customer at the end of their projects with me. Joe and his crew did a great job tearing out our old deck and putting in a new one. They also installed an Irrigreen sprinkler system which has had a few issues but Joe has been very responsive in replacing and troubleshooting the technology. I highly recommend Joe and his crew. We wanted a quote on a composite deck ( 900 sq ft.) Just a little concerned that without seeing the property and from just a description of the size of the deck I was quoted $45K for the project. That is just a big expensive for a composite deck in my book. I said no thanks, that's way over our budget. read more
